Good luck to all those young Demons supporters going to the Youth Summit. I would love to go but I'm too old as well. Either way, I hope that there are a lot of good ideas and brain-storming going on during the day. If anybody could find out ANY news on what is happening with our Major Sponsor that would be fantastic too.

I'm hoping we have our Major Sponsor sorted out by this Friday...seeing as we actually play the Hawks down in Tasmania the following day! Let's hope its all sorted out this week...

As much as he was a bit of a trouble-maker and things didn't go the way I'm sure he and the MFC planned, I wish him all the best for the future. Plus I don't wanna say a bad word about him, just in case I bump into him in a dark alley one night!

Hmmm....Hisense eh? I have honestly never heard of them before?! However, I do like the red and blue zip-up jackets that the Demons players are wearing. I wouldn't mind one of those myself. I'll have to check if they actually do sell them at the Demon shop?

Well as long as we have a major sponsor at least a DAY before the start of our first NAB Cup match then it should be alright. Because the MFC have gotta have enough time to put the new sponsor logos onto the jumpers. How many more days is it to our first NAB Cup match by the way? About a week? 2 weeks? That should be enough time... Otherwise, it's going to be very embarrassing for all of us who support or are involved with the Melbourne Demons at the start of the 2009 season....

I just want the MFC to have a major sponsor by the time our NAB cup match starts in a few days time. Hopefully we have it all sorted out by then...

In all honesty, I really hope we can find a major sponsor by the time our first NAB cup game comes around. If not, I believe it will be very embarrassing for many involved with the MFC. While back in the 50's and 60's it didn't matter about sponsors...unfortunately now in the materialistic and money-driven world we live in it does. In many ways it will look rather strange to see the Demons jumper during the NAB Cup if we don't have a sponsor logo on it. Nevertheless, I'm sure that the MFC will be discussing this issue with the members at the AGM. I'm about 100% there will be alot of Melbourne members asking WHY we haven't signed up a major sponsor yet. Hopefully the MFC members will be lenient though with Stynes, Schwab and Co. As I'm sure they have been doing their best to get the MFC a major sponsor and won't give up trying until we get one.

I'm seriously considering to go. Although, I wanted to check if you had to be a MFC member for 2009 yet? I'm still currently a 2008 member as I traditionally buy my MFC membership (with the rest of the family) during Round 1 of the AFL season. I'm sure the big question on everybody's lips at the AGM will be WHEN are we going to sign up our major sponsor?

Interesting suggestions for your best 22 Yze_Magic. I'm glad you are here to stir up some debate. Shame we don't have 40,000 more Yze_Magics then we would rival Collingwood with being the most hated (but also popular) club in the AFL. :D By the way, seeing as Adem Yze has now retired are you going to change your name to 'something else'_Magic?

I just want the Melbourne Demons to hurry up and get a major sponsor! As each day goes by and we get closer to the NAB Cup I get more and more worried. But I have my faith in Cameron Schwab, Jimmy Stynes and Co. to find one soon!

Well we have until the 21st of February (our first NAB cup game against Hawthorn) to get a major sponsor for the Melbourne Demons. I'm sure Cameron Schwab, Jim Stynes and Co. are doing their best to find us one. Let's hope they take a "gamble" and get a bit of "luck" on their side to help find a major sponsor for us.

Yes lets hope he can help find us a major sponsor that will rival anything that any of the other AFL clubs have. A sponsor who could add another $1 or $2 million to the MFC would come in handy.

This is absolutely fantastic news! What a great Christmas present from the AFL and the MCC! Now all we need is to sign up a major sponsor!

It may probably be announced on Monday or perhaps after Christmas and New Year's?

It is all well and good to put up your ideas here on Demonland but they need to go DIRECTLY to the Club so they can actually have a look at what you have to say. Just wondering if anybody has been down to the latest MFC training session over at Casey Fields? Any chance of seeing if our new recruits are training with the rest of the Demons players yet? Are there any invitees that have gone to MFC training who may be picked up in the Pre-Season Draft or Rookie Draft? I do recall Barry Prendergast the MFC recruiting manager mentioning that they would invite 4 players down to train with us? Perhaps somebody could also take a few photos of the training session too? I can't find the location and training times on the MFC website. They all seem to be for November and not December yet. If somebody can find out when the next few training sessions are coming up then I'll try and get down there myself as well. GO DEMONS IN 2009! From Supreme_Demon

I think the Demons will take a chance on Casey Sidosado who seems to have a lot of talent and potential. Kade Klemke MAY get picked by an AFL club but I think he is more likely to be rookie-listed. Kade seems to be a hard-at-it player who does the 1 percenters and helps others in the team. Unfortunately, Kade's kicking and decision making lets him down at times. Is it harsh to say I have a "Simon Godfrey" feeling about him? The Demons took plenty of medium, small skilful players after Jack Watts. Therefore I expect most of the players taken in the Pre-Season Draft and Rookie Draft shall be either KPPs or ruckmen. However, you never know, Dean Bailey did speak highly of Kade Klemke and the Demons have quite a few Rookie positions available... I assume we have number 1# pick in BOTH the Pre-Season Draft and the Rookie Draft too?

I'm pretty confident that Ben Cousins will be taken by SOMEBODY in the Pre-Season Draft in December...but it will be interesting who?!

I'm not too worried. We can take a few more key position players and possibly a ruckman or 2 in next year's AFL draft. Plus it needs to be remembered that we can still take a few tall players in the Pre-Season Draft and Rookie Draft in a few weeks time.
