  1. Will be very interesting what Jason Taylor says tomorrow. I think he will keep his cards close to his chest. In the end the choice in the AFL Draft is pretty simple....it is best player available Vs needs based player. Hopefully, it's a combination of both for the Demons. In Jason Taylor we trust! 😎👍
  2. I am confident that Sally Freeman is a passionate Melbourne Demons supporter! However, what I most looking forward to hearing is the MFC Board announcing that our home administration and training base will be getting build at Gosch's Paddock! We have an AFL Premiership. Now we need a proper home base!
  3. That was a fantastic interview. Simon Goodwin seems a lot more happy and relaxed now! The wonders of winning a Premiership!
  4. It will be interesting to see who replaces Shannon Byrnes. Will it be Nathan Jones? That would be the ideal scenario. Or perhaps someone highly regarded from another AFL Club?
  5. Agreed. If we can somehow snaffle Western Bulldog's pick 23 or Carlton's pick 25 that would definitely be worthwhile!
  6. To think that Clayton Oliver is only about 25% through his career. He is still only quite young at about 24 years old. He can only get better. I can imagine him playing well over 300 AFL games too for the Demons. He is an absolute super star and hopefully will have the desire to win many more Premierships at the Demons and be one of our greatest players ever. Love ya Clarrie!
  7. So far the Phantom Drafts are saying the following for the Demons Pick 17 (which will become Pick 19) in the 2021 AFL National Draft. Here are the 14 possibilities that have been thrown about for our pick. 1) Darcy Wilmot 2) Mitch Owens 3) Jacob Van Rooyen 4) Tyler Sonsie 5) Sam Butler 6) Josh Goater 7) Campbell Chesser 8) Matthew Roberts 9) Mitch Knevitt 10) Josh Sinn 11) Judson Clarke 12) Blake Howes 13) Ned Long 14) Zac Taylor As for the who Demons ideally want to pick only Jason Taylor will know... 🤷‍♂️
  8. Hilarious! 🤣😂 Would of included Dermott Brereton, Jack Dyer (if he was still alive) and Paul Chapman if we were also focusing on genuine Melbourne haters. From the interviews he did I don't think Jack Dyer ever got over losing the 1940 Grand Final to the Demons.
  9. That truly warms the heart! Wonderful to see all those faces of joy and big smiles from former Demons players. Love the fact that the players and past officials have their families there with Neale Daniher. Fingers crossed the 2021 Premiership Cup gets to visit Nathan Jones and his family next. 🤞
  10. Exactly! Up until 1964 were one of the top teams in regards to Premierships won with our 12. With only Collingwood ahead with 13 and Essendon on 11 (then 12 in 1965). Carlton only had 8 Premierships at the time! Now being equal with Richmond and Hawthorn in regards to Premierships won and hopefully having a good enough team to win MORE Premierships means we can start to rival Collingwood with their 15 and Essendon and Carlton with their 16. Here's hoping for a new era of Premiership success at the Melbourne Demons!
  11. A bit embarrassing for Gold Coast to have the Kangaroos poach Hugh Greenwood from them! Oh well....I can't say I have much sympathy for the Gold Coast Perhaps it will give former Demon Aaron vandenBerg a chance of getting picked up by the Suns?
  12. Good point. I probably said Jayden Hunt because it is those players beyond our Premiership team of 22 players that need to be banging down the door of the selectors for Season 2022. The more competition for spots in the final 22 senior side next year the more likely we will improve to hopefully win back-to-back Flags.
  13. I apologise for bringing up such a negative topic. I guess I am still very angry at Brock McLean. He used to be one of my favourite players at the Demons. The whole situation was disastrous for our Club. It was such a horrible time for the Club and all of us as passionate Melbourne Demons members and supporters. In the end, there will always be those who have unpleasant "break ups" thoughout life. Whether it be personal relationships or work or whatever. The positive is that it is all in the past now. Some can forgive and forget and some cannot. Obviously depending upon the circumstances. I definitely feel a massive burden has been lifted from us now that we have broken our Premiership drought after 57 very long years. We can now look ahead to a positive future for our beloved Melbourne Demons.
  14. A very heart warming moment to see Neale Daniher being able to see our drought breaking Premiership Cup for the Melbourne Football Club. I am sure a few tears of joy were shed. 😭 The fact that Neale continues to hold on while MND ravages his body is an incredible inspiration. The man is a legend!
  15. Probably an odd thing to bring up! But I would definitely be curious to know how some former players and coaches feel about the Demons finally having Premiership success in 2021? Is it a case of sour grapes? Or would they be genuinely happy for the Melbourne Demons finally ending their Premiership drought after 57 long years? I would definitely be curious to know the thoughts of Brock McLean, Mark "Jacko" Jackson, Mark Neeld, Neil Balme to name a few. Anyway, I just thought it would be interesting to see if any of them have some love left for the Melbourne Demons or they probably don't give a stuff. I saw Brian Wilson and Jack Watts were genuinely happy for our success. That was very heart warming to see! Either way, we are long last, after waiting so long since 1964, the reigning AFL Premiers!
  16. Sam Weideman is the most obvious. Then probably Jayden Hunt and Adam Tomlinson. I am most excited about seeing what Bailey Laurie can do due to his footballing talent. However, time is on his side.
  17. Looking forward to seeing what Bailey Laurie produces in Season 2022. His draft year highlights package is impressive. Here it is shown below:
  18. After 57 years of pain and misery we deserve a bit of happiness and joy. We were a laughing stock for many years with regular wooden spoons "won", humiliating defeats (190 point loss to Fitzroy and 186 point loss to Geelong) and we almost merged in 1996 with Hawthorn. Now finally....we are 2021 Premiers! At times I never thought it would ever happen in my life time...but it finally did! I think the next aim is to win a Premiership at the MCG. When you are in a Premiership window you need to make the most of it. Then let's go all out and overtake Essendon and Carlton with their 16 Premierships. However, the most important thing is that we NEVER allow a Premiership drought of 57 years to happen ever again! We are well overdue for sustained success and the more Premierships we see in the future the better! Time for a new Demons dynasty! GO DEMONS!!!
  19. I'm looking forward to having a Woewodin at the Melbourne Demons again!
  20. I have a close eye on.... Josh Rentsch GWV Rebels, NAB League / Penshurst FC / Ballarat Grammar State: Victoria (Country) Height: 197cm Weight: 100kg Date of Birth: 14/09/03 Apparently was joint winner of the Morrish Medal. Could be also be available for our 2nd or 3rd pick perhaps?
  21. I think that the top 10 picks are pretty much set for the 2021 AFL National Draft. I have come to the conclusion that I will be happy with any highly talented player within the top 20 to top 25. If we somehow fluke a player from within the top 15 then we should all be very pleased. We should all have faith in Jason Taylor getting the job done!
  22. I understand and I am overjoyed that the Melbourne Demons are 2021 AFL Premiers. However, this matter of a home base for our administration and training is still lingering. Hopefully, we can have some more news at the upcoming Annual General Meeting in regards to the progress of our home base? We cannot rest until this matter is finally rectified.
  23. Fingers crossed this event is still happening? 🤞 I reckon we could basically fill the MCG with Melbourne supporters. Then we could have a party-like atmosphere while we watch replay of the Grand Final and have player medal presentations and various speeches. Get lots of past players involved and make it a huge celebration. Have lots of singing of "Its a Grand Old Flag" as well as dancing too. The main thing I am hopeful of is getting a photo of my Dad and I both holding the 2021 Premiership Cup! That will be an incredible experience. Just gotta hope I don't turn into a blubbering mess when I burst into tears of joy! 😭
  24. It will definitely be interesting to see how we can improve next year. I am mindful that there will be a lot of hungry players wanting more Premiership success. Breaking into the final 22 will be a challenge for those on the periphery. After 57 years of pain and now ending the Premiership drought I think it is time for a flood of Premierships! In 15 years time if we can have bragging rights over the vile scum at Essendon and Carlton with their 16 Premierships then I will certainly be very happy! GO DEMONS!!!
  25. It's still very surreal for me. I can't believe our beloved Melbourne Demons won the 2021 Premiership! After all the years of pain and suffering, since 1964, we finally obtained Premiership glory and broke the drought! This moment will remain one of the happiest in my entire life! GO DEMONS!!!
