Come the lifting of the cup and mad Mondays we all know what comes to town next. Tbt advance agents are already setting up their tents. With some ginormous offers pending and a few clubs announcing their intention to really get in amongst it I can see the possibility of one of two things playing out for us. Either trading gets blown out of the water and we're left flailing or.. and this is where it might get very lucrative....or... in the eagerness of some clubs to get 'their men' other players become collateral discards. Also, maybe the opportunity to do some clever wheeler dealing of picks. We certainly need that. If we're only after a couple then we might just be able to crib a few our way whilst all the excitement is elsewhere. I don't quite share Roos' ultra enthusiasm for our list. Yes there are more than a dozen premiership players but that was then and this is now. I think it needs work. Just how down and dirty are we prepared to dig ? Hell , don't need much.... just a kpf , a kpb and two skilled mids.. I mean... ought to be like shopping at Woolies eh.. Need to get this coach and fd sorted pronto

I wonder what the chances are that this 'search' might go a little longer than some suspect 🤔 Outwardly it appears almost there. Internally, I'm not thinking so. Whilst we'd want it wrapped up as early as possible I just have a sneaky suspicion there's a turn and twist or two yet to play out. Those thinking around the week of the prelim might be on the money. Well... it might be both. We had no idea Carlton would do a very un-carlton-like thing and retain Voss.. and we needed some 'clean air' to progress our own requirements.

Thankyou Bob. A well reasoned standpoint. Some seem upset that the club isn't playing by 'their' rulebook. Scandalous I say. Get the whips and stockblocks ready !! This is about, and only about , taking the club from A to B. Who honestly gives a flying fig about sating the media or disgruntled fans jumping up and down. The Process..... the process need only be whatever it takes to get a successful outcome. That might be X, it might be Y . The process might also more than likely change on the fly as ppl/ outcomes/interests develop. I would like a decent new coach for 26 and whatever. I would like to see a new look FD. I would like to see us play successful footy . I would really like to attend a winning Big Dance at OUR rightful home before I topple off. I really couldn't be much bothered caring about things that in the end just don't matter. There are no hard and fast rules to this 'process' . Just outcomes. Id like a good one. Not fussed how we get it. In reality it's irrelevant.

Oh I'm sorry... thought I was talking with someone who knew something of footy. Played ?? Been coached? If yes you may recall how that goes. If you don't think they might have been given a different talk than Goody, given a brief that just might have suggested they look to do one thing more than others... to focus on some aspect they weren't ... well I could go on. But perhaps you never been on the other side of a coach's address . I don't really care. A lot of ppl saw us play a bit different. You not so much maybe. Back to your stats ... that's where it's at eh 😉

I don't need to bag anyone. Possibly the problem with your thinking. If something is good, its good and that is commendable. If its bad, untenable etc it can be so ascribed ... no ? Atm i feel optimistic. Things will change. There was even a little in the weekend. That was good. Not quite a good win (😉) but a better display. I hope Chappy sticks around . Am I allowed to suggest Traccs first half was rubbish but his second wasn't ? Am I allowed to think the FD really needs to reinvent (if can ) Viney or he's in danger of becoming a liability. .. but surely his positivity can be better used somewhere? I can admire the footy of Langford.. thought Culley showed promise. Some might bag Adams but truth be told he'd (Naughts) have still kicked 3 or 4 on May as having a day out... so Jed not disgraced first day out. Probably learnt a bit. Thought we still owe TMac due credit, but will that translate to next year ? Salem getting back a bit of his better game ( needed to ) Disco was really good ( except for that brain fart.. could see the idea.. shame about result ) Kozzy had a mixed day and I would be wondering why he was again on the bench in the last when 2 opportunities were left begging 🤷‍♂️ So its not me who's all negative Nancy Ghosty.. it might just be you if I or someone else doesn't share your views. I get this but may I ask one thing. If part of growing our culture is about developing a winning mindset can in not but aid us holistically to allow players the journey of a winning team and experiencing such ?? Whilst our last two games are not inconsequential in terms of the overall competition we aren't going long this year. I'd like to see Luker get a gig or two but maybe he's as valuable to us next year ? Im not sure atm who he would replace. If we move into next season the place will be a tad different. New Coach(s) , some new players ( some less ) ,another preseason and things tend to start sorting themselves out as to who's who in the paddock.
