Training Ground?
Well I for one am pleased with even this degree progress towards a home. It's a lot closer than we've been for many a decade. Kudos to those involved. Now let's get it over the line. Be sort of ironic to have Melbourne's Cups housed at Caulfield Whoever asked after the ovals.... bound to replicate the G and "insert dockkands sponsor name come 2030" ... all in all a marvellous step forward, and it is, a step forward. Not a lot to hang our football happiness hat on but this IS good news. Let there be more Go Dees

A thing that goes under the radar for many. To get the whole club back together is a massive thing. It might just 'connect' a number of depts ;)

Training Ground?
I think we lost our home, our way long before we got dudded on Olympic Park etc. Once upon a time , far far away in Football's history the was once a Club who held sway at the "ancestral" home of the Game. As they ought to have having essentially been borne from the creation of the game itself. It was once the MCG the Melbourne Cricket Ground but poignantly also the MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB HOME GROUND. and ONLY ours !!! Then along came Richmond and with the choreographed demise of Suburban VFL grounds others came to call the MCG their 'home' ground. That was where the rot set in properly. We were hustled and shuffled out of our own home. We've never really had one since and this is why the possibility of recreating a HOME, a MFC only home carries so much weight. We've always been different as we grew out of another ( the MCC ) as opposed to a locale. Our roots belonged to the game and not a Suburban Grandstand, local high streets and parochial schools and churches . These elements shaped a lot of clubs but not ours. Our cause was essentially more cerebral and it was housed in the MCG ..until it wasn't. To renew itself is a rare opportunity for any organisation. To do it effectively in the middle of its namesake ( Melbourne ) even rarer. Fingers crossed.

Could prove very Phoenix-like

Training Ground?
I fervently hope this gets up ( Caulfield) Think it will prove pivotal on a number of different Plains. A chance to build ( rebuild ) a true Home might help heal a lot of our current woes. A shared focus, not only cathartic but galvanising . They'll be planting Fuchsias in the Winners Circle soon ( perhaps ) I await an announcement.

Time to go Goody?
You're observation is valid. Yes we put ourselves, in a fashion, into the predicament of moneyball being necessary. By God we're rubbish at it. There's 2 elements in play . Go Dees ( anywhere but continuing this slide )

Expectations for 2025
Expectations of 2025🤔🤔🤔 Not being silly, facetious or otherwise I have no 'expectations' at all. A lot is going to have to happen at Melbourne to escape the molasses like malaise we find ourselves in. Will just watch.

Pert and Roffey - The Review Thread
You realise the President's gone....yeah ?? So....not doing her job. Green, kinda , but knows he's saddled with a lame horse just atm .. Pert ought to be confident in his efforts and encourage a complete evaluation. I mean...what's to hide ? 🤔 Are some above reproach ?
-
Pert and Roffey - The Review Thread
Common/Less Common... is that the metric ?? Might be a horse for another course ( apparently not Caulfield... ) A thorough audit will review everything... by your view that's less common. That's fine. These aren't everyday occurrences... so let's do it properly.

Pert and Roffey - The Review Thread
Serious companies review EVERYTHING ... and EVERYONE .. If we built planes we'd be Boeing ( and a poor man's one at that ) You Need INDEPENDENT eyes... it's not that hard to comprehend ??

Andrew McQualter - Appointed coach of the West Coast Eagles
The way many discuss why do we even have coaches.... they seem ineffectual or unaccountable.
-
Pert and Roffey - The Review Thread
Pert overseeing Pert... just Pertfect. Bound to report Pert doing just marvee... Seriously what a ridiculous fabrication of a whitewash is in store. Roffey at least had the good grace to stand down. Pert should stand ASIDE ...at least. If he thinks he's doing OK... let's another(s) be the unbiased judge of that. Joke of a club.

Andrew McQualter - Appointed coach of the West Coast Eagles
I wonder if Scott and Mitchell take the same path ?? Not thinking so. I suspect their priorities lay with the football more than the kum-by-yah approach. I like the idea of a good gameplan and capable tactical moves/alterations to style , appropriate for the day. Haven't seen much of late. Buck stops with one person.

Kate Roffey Steps Down
I'm presuming catetaker. I should imagine the members get to choose their President.

Andrew McQualter - Appointed coach of the West Coast Eagles
So what you're saying.... is we need a new COACH !! That's what coaches ought to do... no ?
-
Kate Roffey Steps Down
Thankyou Kate ... and Thankyou Kate Cheers... all the best. Respect for stepping aside.

Christian Petracca
Agree Bing.... enjoy season 25 folks but be aware I'm absolutely sure ( yes just my opinion ) there'll be more gnashing of teeth in the latter half of year. There will be persistent 'stories' . This isn't going away ... just on hiatus. Different trade options in 25 Watch this space. In mean time ... Go Dees
