May to Tribunal
Just a joke... Put Newcombe in Red and Blue and he gets 3 plus weeks... Convince me otherwise !!

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Maybe they have. Horse seemed very coy ( and others have expressed the idea he's unlikely to uproot from Sydney...presently ) Daly might prefer life up north and eventually the Lions gig. All speculation

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Im not making a case for or against... but i think his time at the Pies was somewhat coloured. The result of a supposedly amicable transition from Malthouse...except Mickey wasn't in reality that enthused about handing over. I think the Buckley of that experience/experiment was a different fella from the Buckley now. Just my thoughts

Welcome to Demonland Bailey Laurie
About 11/12 i think... but only a 6 or 7 full games. He hasn't had a good run at it imo. He may never ar Melb. I still suspect he might move clubs when the Circus comes to town.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Without doubt its a bit cute time-frame wise. But footy can move quickly.. Going to be interesting.... well, already is .

PREGAME: Rd 22 vs Western Bulldogs
Do we necessarily have to play follow the leader ? I.e. just because their fwd isn't super tall !! Keep in mind Adams is very very quick , especially for his size. Just a curiosity on my part .

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
I think a lot, well.. some folk might be buying into the idea we are only NOW canvassing options. Logically to me you would not move on a coach until you have 'some' idea of who and what is available and when. There would have been arms length enquiries prior to the 'dismissal' ... now they bring things in and ramp up. You're going to want the nucleus of your Football Honchos sorted by/or immediately after the big dance.

I can only think TC was an 'in case of emergency break glass' thinking. ( for MG )

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Definitely someone we should look at 👍

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
I think he did too. But the demise was well set in by then and he paid. You'd expect a much wiser, savier Buckley 2nd time around. No one is expecting instant success. A more methodical attack up the ladder perhaps.

Simon Goodwin Sacked
Im extremely buoyed to hear the views of club stalwarts. I , to be honest, was gobsmacked listening to Max. It was about 150 degrees ( nq the full half 😉 🤣 ) to where i expected him to be. This bodes well. It says to me , providing it's good change, they will embrace and go with it. Is there, has there been deep down , a yearning for something different? Were players a little torn between what they had and what they thought needed to happen? Thats not trying to disassemble anyone but we're humans. Sometimes we know something has shifted. We'd definitely stalled. The vibe was stale. Perhaps there was a will of some to push in another direction but felt awkward and constrained ? All speculative of course. Sometimes circuit breaker trip .... because they have to. I wish all parties well.... ( but I save the Lions share for us !! ) Going to be very interesting months ahead.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Have been , as no doubt are most of us , having a bit of a think about this . I can only sense that the club will go forcan experienced operator, but that may NOT rule out a very capable senior assistant. Only time will unveil. I would only want someone with the enthusiasm and energy to take the reigns. They could be there for a few years so I'm not looking for a temporary solution. I note, well it's my gut feeling ( could just be the farts 🤷♂️ ) that not everyone mentioned is there by their own impetus. Horse is high on lists but is HE really that interested or keen to uproot. I wonder. I've moved away from Simpson. I just don't think he is THAT fit for us. He's capable but is he our best option ? Then there's Bucks. My first gut reaction was very nearly a gut reaction... lol But in thinking I've considered the qualities required. You need to thoroughly understand Football. He does. A very good head for it. He knows where this game is. Also where it might head. Tactically I think hes shown nouse. Can he coach ? I'd have to deduce he can. His time at Collingwood. I think he was on a bit of a hiding to nothing ...and white ants were apparent. He seems keen. Thats good in my book . I don't want someone there who you had to drag there. Something that is a trademark of Bucks in footy. He took games on !! Both as a player, and i thought a very very good player, a match turner-winner kind of player and in his coaching. He would try to win games. Im not a fan of trying to protect a win ( too early ) . Horse likes to move magnets. Im not a fan of Simpson footy. I hope we are not too blinkered in our search. I want someone to relight the fire in the players. Any which way 26 will be , imho , a sorting come discovery year. Need to become super relevant in 27. Who ever comes needs to wrangle together assistants who can impart skills and craft. Im a little buoyed, excited and at the same time nervous . Simon certainly didn't get everything wrong. Far from it. But we'd stalled... and like a plane that's not good. If someone can fire up those jets and wrestle control back so we can lift well, dare I say the sky's the limit. Im warming to Bucks , but I'm not sold. Horse is the Horse of course , of course.. and not one talks like the Horse of course.... Just not feeling it for Simpson. Might be a better fit elsewhere. So who else ?? Interesting fortnight ahead. Meanwhile.... good luck Troy 👍

Can have him 😉

PREGAME: Rd 22 vs Western Bulldogs
I agree. Think.this could be a very interesting game. The Doggies will be set but we now have that "unknown " factor. It could go pear shaped but i don't think it will. Pups might have their work cut out. All expectations are on them. Go Dees

How you doing?
A very well written piece. 'Tis indeed ironic that 6-6-6 told his story. I have said at times he was quite inventive earlier in his coaching. Could he be a victim of his own doing , in a fashion . Mavericks aren't tolerated well in the AFL. It just struck me as unfortunate that in these latter years he couldn't reinvent our game, well not quick enough. It's as though he got stuck in sand . Thanks for that effort 👍
