  1. If just for the moment we can put aside WHO the next coach is/will be. WHAT is it that needs addressing ? Is there an urgency or priority to one element more than others ? We once had a very effective, ne daunting, midfield. It , when on song, powered many a victory. It provided a blitzkrieg kind of tide out of the square that overwhelmed many opponents. We relied on its force more than skill. ( I think ) FF to today.. in fact just cast back to yesterday and tbh we were comprehensively beaten in centre clearances. Their midfield seemed much better as a unit. Max might win a lot of the rucking but it doesn't translate any longer Who ever takes the reigns has to also get onside those who'll be developing our new midfield , as we need one. For mine that's the first glaring deficiency in our arsenal. There's aspects of skill and football intelligence that need looking at but winning out of the guts will by effect change how we need to play elsewhere . Not only will the coaching change but the old guard in the middle needs overhauling. I can only see Max battling on for 2-3 seasons ( barring injury ) Windsor is a start. Needs to keep going. But if not the middle... Where does Coach X focus his attention 🤔
  2. Game plan ? Well you were never going to get an overly different game plan. Funny you say that as I DIDN'T. What i referred to were the nuances . There was , imo, certainly a different directive out of the coaches box. If you feel compelled to hang onto Goodwin that's your call.
  3. Very likely. All things considered the likely option.
  4. Recently overhead comment from the west "BUGGER"
  5. I somewhat only half jokingly suggested earlier what we would take from yesterday was "learnings". Yes, I was having a little dig, but I also thought ( really ) that we might learn a bit about this mob, something you only really see when the goal posts move ( fitting ..lol ) and the status quo is thrown in the bin. I just wondered if we might find out more about who can as well as who should play for the Dees. There was some great footy ... and we played some of it. In classic fashion the game was there for the winning only we weren't quite good enough. The Pups desperation in the end was probably the difference... but that was in the end !! During other periods of the game our Dickensian schizophrenia shone and dimmed. There's not a lot of point lamenting some of the silly mistakes. They happen, they still tend to bob up more than desired. Our skills need attention. I put down some of our calamity to the notion that some old habits die hard and some of our older die hards perhaps have seen better years. There seemed a little more verve in our play. Dont think ive witnessed as much leading ( well there was some..and noticeable imo ) as was on display. With regard to some of the fluff ups... well there looked like the intention to get a bit more jiggy, more maverick, more purposeful but it just didn't come off. Some understandable frustration apparent. Had a few of those plays gelled better and we win. For mine a 'learning' was we can actually play better footy. It was a bit rough, but there were signs. A new 'enabler' with some new team members and we might be competitive again. Again we certainly stuffed up a few things, but we looked like we were trying. I enjoyed the game if not the result. Possibly the greatest takeaway from the game .... we did the right thing..... in forcing change. Was just needed. Go Dees
  6. He comes across very well. Be fascinated to see what he does in last two weeks.
  7. Might very well be the case. But he could indeed lose. It looks like it's Bucks v the noobs My interest here, as indeed I would suspect that of most of us unwashed watching on.... is who are they, the Noobs ? ( being sounded/considered )
  8. Am starting to wonder whether all the Buckley banter and talk of other 'stellar' selection possibles might all just be fugazi ?? Might we actually go for a more left field assistant/senior in waiting paired/matched with sound assistants and FD head ?? That is my preference. We really need a FRESH approach and result.
  9. And the other half is Fully Mental !!
  10. One word for today "LEARNINGS" Go Dees
  11. Exactly.. we play this to suit US .. Who cares about other teams. Let's get ahead and into 26 Go Dees
  12. Sanderson might like his cushy job at the old school. Would Simpson work as 2nd fiddle to Bucks.. For the answers to these and other exciting developments stay tuned... If interested ... more
  13. Sandra's hardly recognisable !!
  14. Why ?? Not being pedantic . What harm to announce when able ?
  15. Though some will suggest otherwise the writing was on the wall after 24.
  16. Am impressed with the acumen of Smith.
  17. Yes... it's called contingency planning.
  18. They're handy.. I do miss 🤔
  19. My Wife, most Bros/sisters in law (including one ex Pie player )...all Filth. Amount of msgs in last 5 days regarding Football = 0 , Zilch, Nada .... I actually find that hilarious
  20. Quite fascinating to read all the 'pros' and 'cons'. Im not entirely convinced he the very best option, but neither am I convinced he isn't. Im going to think that quite possibly his stint away from the job will have done himself a power of good. He's older, wiser and a lot more circumspect in my opinion. From the occasional listening to him, granted not that often ( but don't listen/watch many footy shows) he seems very well versed in where footy is..Thats as big plus. Im fairly certain he hasn't JUST been sounded out. I think youll find someone(s) at the club have had a few 'hypothetical' type chats to a number of 'identities' . Will he be selected 🤔 🤷‍♂️ Is he the very best option 🤔 🤷‍♂️ Are there numerous options (really ) 🤔 🤷‍♂️ Can we afford to stuff around too much ? No If Bucks was picked would he bring enthusiasm and hunger to the club 🤔.. Truckloads I reckon. We've lacked hunger since 21. Bucks is a bloke with unfinished business.. Reckon he'd hit the ground not just running.... but galloping. He'll understand there's not a second to waste. Is he the ideal candidate... candidate , most definitely. He knows what he's doing , probably has already started working on how he'll do it. Most importantly really, sounds like he actually wants the job. Not a bad thing. He's been in an ideal position to watch us critically, as well as the other 17 clubs. When first suggested I nearly chucked !! Then I engaged brain. I'd be very interested in who are any and all other genuine contenders. I'd be very interested to know what the entire Coaching/Football dept would look like. I think Buckley ver 2.0 would be a vast improvement on the original. Im not closed to the idea. All that said it doesn't matter 1 iota what I think. Bloody intrigued as to how this plays out. Looking forward ( well, atm ) to Footy 26. We'll be different.. How 🤔 🤷‍♂️
  21. Yes credit to the Weagles for the win.. Sheed probably couldn't replicate that kick... what a pearler... Bucks was far from disgraced.... bit unlucky but only ever one winner. ( but shame it wasn't the Pies ... yuck yuck yuck )
  22. Someone understood 😉
  23. Going to be ?
  24. I doubt he was ever really in
