Grundy saved our [censored] in Max's absence...not a minor thing. Pies just dacked us.... theyll have much more talent back . Whilst any game might be winnable just at the moment theyre just as likely losable. We've shown a greater proficiency at losing. We're not playing a skilled or discernable style. We're bash crashing around like a drunk in a bottle shop. Bit by bit opponent's coaches are getting better at disecting our 'game' . We don't appear nearly as adept towards them. We're not firing on all cylinders and im not impressed by the mechanic. But yes ,it is not the end.... footy is a funny game but any considering a rise up the ladder simply because WE might ( big MIGHT ) improve must also realise it relies on others worsening.

In appreciating where we really sit in amongst all of this I offer up a simple exercise. It's something all clubs will do. Pretend you're an opponent . In preparing to play us you WILL conduct a Strength /Weaknesses analysis. I'm not going to pre-empt anyone's results... do your own. But be matter of fact honest in your appraisals. What did you find ?? Sobering ??

There's sadly very little hardness left. We'll get ragdolled more and more here on in. Good pickup re Hibberd etc.. very much the truth of the matter unfortunately :(

Im sure we don't. I suspected the KB game might give a window to where we are...and did. Our next outting will be a real litmus. We may well not be as bad as we seem.... or then again we might just be. RoCo's overview requires a hell of a lot of ducks to line up. My general assessment just ackowledges what we can generally and fairly ajudicate. Forward line: Undersized, undermanned,underwhelming. Looks totally disorganised. Midfield. Not gelling. Overuses the ball, not clever in clearances ( when we get them ) Max playing well... but seriously....to whose advantage ?? 🤷🤷 Midfield a shadow of our Granny winning ability. Backline. Struggling without Lever. May not at top of his game...looks injured and frustrated.... but tries. Coaching.....all over the shop ... Not looking sharp or effective.. Lost the plot ? Lost the players ?? Team cohesion.. Has been much better. Team effort... bog average of late. Injuries... mounting....and cruelling Talent in reserve.... unknown or not setting world on fire. Our pressure is way off the boil. Scoreboard... can't hit it... Prognosis... not looking that flash. Needs... a bloody miracle and a few rockets. Finals ... yeah...nahh Convince me otherwide.... am open minded ...to reason ;) Cheers Go Dees.... yep...need to get going !!

Their next game is against the Pies... ironic in a fashion. Will be quite telling.

The nett effect of avoiding icebergs is emperically qualified as staying dry. This is about surgery. If you don't get it... i understand.

Those of us seeing the clear light of day , quietly balming in the calm of quiet reflection might respectfully disagree. We're stuffed: No effective forward line. A neutered midfield. An undermanned backline. Do i even need to mention a non-understood game plan. Some folk, and i casually include myself don't feel hysterically inclined. Quite the inverse. There's quiet , there's peace. There is no expectation. This comes when you realise ,for one reason or another 2 wheels have come adrlift. You're weaving all over the place and you notice the nuts on the 3rd wheel aren't that tight. The rubber on the last is worisome. Your maths whilst theoretically possible requite results of near powerball level. I really admire your positivity. I reckon you're mad.

For the moment id be happy to usurp Goodwin.... and hand to Choco in the interim. After that... .. some very interesting choices

Ive been pondering this... So i watched the replay about a dozen times. My thoughts.. Backs CAN mark.. ( May etc ) but Moore wasn't positioned or trying to mark. He was trying to spoil imo.. You dont normally "knee up" to spoil... to mark maybe/yes. So he spolied...and kneed..... hmmmm

Got to agree with Jaded Gawndy. Its only a vibe, an opinion but the likes of Gus'n'Gawny etc.. Brayshaw epitomised the soul of a die hard Demon. He left nothing out there...and so many do. He waa as much the jovial lad as the committed player. Who will EVER forget the lunging mark in that Granny ? He inspired those around him. That resonance is missing now.

Im not sure what anyone else thought ... but immediately after Trac was kneed....after he got up 'sucking' and hobbled off ....i said to the good wife... "gotta have done ribs"..." i also added derisively.." thanks Moore".. wife being of the filth variety arced up...."you cant blame him".. me... "of course i can...he laid his knee hard into him....wasnt 'accidental' " And thats why i thought it was ribs.. Didnt occur to me about Lung nor Spleen. This highlights the error in its essence. The club is charged with overseeing the health of the players. The AFL is responsible essentially for providing as safe a working environment as can. The Player does not get to call the shots. So how did he ? Or did the club effectively abdicate responsibility til its hand was forced subsequently ? The assessment and decision making processes seem to leave much to be desired.

This needs to be said again and again.. The PLAYERS aren't the overiding problem. The list is either decried as "talented" .. capable etc etc. For mine overall its inflated and overated but there is genuine talent, ability and potential. The analogy to me is Chess. Those pieces only do the bidding of the person playing. The counterpart in football are the coaches. The problems wont be fixed unless some major changes are made as logically, don't make those changes and the ONLY outcome has to be pretty much more of same/similar. We need DIFFERENT.
