Asked elsewhere but probably better here. My thinking all along that should we end up with 7&8; that that was never the focus. We've a history of "shopping" picks. My thoughts go to... if the ready-made didn’t eventuate ( and didn’t ) what was/is the secondary target. I'm thinking that our thinking is a player much closer the pointy end. So who would we be looking at at 2 or 3 ??

I truly dont understand the pessimism or obscurity offered up with all those that say ... but the picks are really.. The picks are what they are. Many of the early 'gets' were NEVER gettable. Scrub those players and the rest is what it is. It's the same for most clubs. So pick 7 is still effectively pick 7 for what is pickable

What ever damage was done to the fabric that cocooned the love-tribe causing the fractures and player grievances ; this was done prior to the new leadership at the club. They're just left to mop up the mess and start to put things back together. Not everything was salvageable indeed like a rose bush the pruning needed to be serious. Yes its a damn shame much of this has had to play out but imho players carry the same responsibility as does stewardship. In life you have to realise it's your life, guard and guide it well. Melbourne can do better and hopefully its underway.

Food for thought. Speed in the game is not always, nor limited to the 'speed' of players per se. It can also be everything about players working in unison and making good decisions. Essentially the ball moves because of good decisions ... it invariably goes flying past you the opposite direction when you make poor ones. If King thinks he (JS) can work in what he envisages the 'new' game to be.. well, at this stage what else really do we need to understand. It's a 👍 from me.... ( because I'm sure the FD waits for ppl like me to approve ...😉 )
