Farewell Clayton Oliver
My gleanings from what's available is he had/has a holiday planned in the States. He was leaving via Sydney. Im going to go out on a limb and suggest that had that meeting not occurred ( King ) then Clarry would have simply transited via Kingsford Smith or got a burger somewhere... who knows. But he did meet with King and he did meet with the Giants. I'm unsure how those two things can't be connected. Just me I guess 🤷

His reaction was to go on a cruise with a select few. It's an interesting reaction wouldn't you say Ghosty ? 🤔🤷♂️

Welcome to Demonland: Brody Mihocek
A lot will depend on the make-up of our list going into 26.

No...was laughing with you not at. I , like you am not particularly good at such contrivances as are picks and all that jazz. I reckon you've made a good case... but I'm not a qualified to judge. My observations over years is very little of this goes to anyone's plans. Red alluded to something elsewhere.. it has all to do with perceived value, particular needs , the machinations of a closed market and priorities as understood by the involved teams. Id be quite happy with your scenario

Farewell Clayton Oliver
I'll preface this with the notion I've always enjoyed seeing Clarry play. He's exciting, inventive, a bit of a larrikin and I think has loved his time in the Red and Blue. Bit of a ratbag but a genuine champion of the game and our club. But.... Actions often speak loudest and I am bitterly disappointed that when presented with a new vision, a new challenge, one that doesn't appear to have aligned with his view he spits his chips ??? I have no real idea of what went on or was said in that meeting with King but it strikes me as very odd that he can find himself quite happily taking a 3 hour crew with Giants Skipper , Gilligan et al at all but 5 mins notice. The lad is entitled to his life as are any but I truly find this reaction , well, curious. Im inclined to two takeaways. It is clearly evident Goodwin mollycoddled his list. That worked for a while and then magnificently didn't. King has NO intention of going down this path. Thank God for that. Conversely a lot of our list were used to inordinate amount of hand holding and pandering to 'their wants' .. Even Max is not exempt as Brodie says hi . This it seems is not how things are to go going forward and this has not apparently sat well with some of the 'precious' ones. I'll be disappointed not to see that ginger mop wearing 13 carving up the game ( for is ) but I'm far more disappointed he cracked the sads . Tbh that leaves a sour taste...

Training Ground?
Ought to be part of plan A ... Caulfield, I wouldn’t think , to be available for 3/4 years. So in the meantime why not utilise Waverley??

Are we dispensing with niceties and just looking to kidnap him ??- Farewell Christian Petracca
Isn't this fun.... once a little bit of thread comes adrift... suddenly everything starts coming undone. Talk about Flinders Street all change !! Not just the Dees looking to reset. Monday morning might be a bit busy... ( for those brave enough to watch the trains wrecking over the weekend... enjoy 😉 )- The Window
Doors shut ....doors open Windows shut..... you open them again. Point being nothing needs be permanent. What was only too painfully apparent is we were gurgling around a sinkhole...wading in quicksand. Something had to happen. If you had polled ppl 2 months ago and asked them how they viewed the club going forward just about no one would provide the picture we have today. Yet some pundits has us " not too far from being competitive again" 🤔 So it begs the question , dies what's happening atm tend to make us more or less competitive ?? I've no idea right this minute as we don't know the full make-up of our list or our football brains trust. I don't know that we will be more competitive but I have a feeling its going to push us closer to being competitive. Like pruning a rose bush. You go hard at cutting away that which you decide to and this give the bush the opportunity to thrive. I only know that whatever takes the field in 26 will be barely recognisable from this year. The only thing I'm pretty certain about is we WILL play differently. For two main reasons. Firstly, those in charge will direct us to. Thats part of the reason there ARE new ppl in charge. Secondly, those on the field will not all be the same. The new faces will be there BECAUSE they DO play with different abilities and style than those leaving. Will this open the window ?? 🤷♂️ Will we be more competitive?? 🤔🤔 I will put hand up and say ...yes. Is this a rebuild ?? I dont think so I'd call it a serious remodel using the framework and best salvageable parts that exist already...along with some handy updates. Im fascinated... and really looking forward to how all this continues. The window closed but it wasn't locked.- Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
Because ...as they're a bunch of nuff nuffs they wouldn't have conveyed this already ?? Not having a go at you but why do so many ppl believe so much 💩 that the media report ?? Many of these deals have existed as "hypotheticals " in the background on 'managers' folios for months. All this stuff gets preliminaried by clubs and players all through the year. Sure sometimes it is fishing, some with great sense of humour , but there are things that go on in the background. It's not like overnight Tracc had considered leaving. It's not overnight we've developed an interest in Flanders.. It wasn't overnight McVee decided to fly the coop. If ppl dont think clubs, managers, players DONT have informal, off the record chats/coffees/beers then you might be interested in a Bridge i have. GC will already be very aware of who and what is at stake. It snowtown to horse haggling. Fortunately, imho, they as a club have been pretty fair dinkum to deal with. Go us !!- Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
I very much doubt that 😉😉😉 - Rumours
