  1. wasn't long enough, could've kept listening for at least another hour
  2. not til the end of 2023 https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/905029/locked-in-clarry-commits-to-melbourne
  3. amon wanted to come home to victoria two years ago but ultimately decided to stay the reason why maynard should be our #1 target is that he's a pre-agent we've adjusted various contracts over the last few years - big extensions for petracca, salem, lever, gawn, viney, harmes - and given that there was talk we were super keen on zerrett and now there's talk that we have been into maynard for some time i would say it's extremely likely that we have a fair bit of salary cap space cleared out as a result, especially with the likes of jones, jetta, and hibberd coming to the end of their contracts i think it's worth remembering that jetta signed a new contract as a prospective free agent in the wake of an all oztrayan season; he wouldn't be on chump change
  4. i wonder if, given the forecast, we might go 'small' with just viney in for weideman alternatively, i remember the sydney game which was similar and sideshow bob and plugger mac were dominant with 7 of our 10 goals between them i still lean towards... OUT: weideman, sparrow IN: viney, b brown
  5. rankine has a huge amount of talent, just needs someone to harness it and make him work
  6. i don't know why we'd be chasing blokes who can't make their current side if we're chasing maynard then there's obviously some wiggle room in our salary cap, so i'd rather target: brayden maynard (filth) adam cerra (freo) karl amon (pear) ben king (gc17) izak rankine (gc17)
  7. outstanding news, thanks @Grand New Flag yes, i believe max is still at casey
  8. isn't our first pick, at this stage, in the mid-30s?
  9. Top 5 in the Bluey: Oliver, Gawn, Petracca, Lever, Salem Most improved (other than T Mac): in order, i'd go Pickett, Lever, Salem - they've all gone from very good players to at least all oztrayan squad of 40 inclusions
  10. this their speed of ball movement and risk / reward style of football is the sort that really troubles us
  11. puddy-tatts v peptides = friyay nite
  12. i will happily admit - i thought based on where we took him in the draft, his pedigree, his height, broad shoulders, his seeming professionalism, his noted ability to build his body to 'senior' level over the last five years, and then his form in the vfl and in the afl at the end of 2018 that he WAS going to be an out and out gun he's instead unfortunately possibly not just a 'good, ordinary' afl key forward but instead a player who is too good for vfl, not good enough for afl he looks bereft of confidence currently and his trade value will have diminished significantly since returning to the afl side and routinely failing to impress
  13. we have three players on our injury list three! halfway thru the year!!! what even is this world in which we're in... half our team is clearly gonna come down with covid on the eve of the finals, right?
  14. trade him for ben simmons
  15. favourite win: vs tigers on anzac eve, even tho i think the wins over footscray and the bears were bigger in the context of the season one in game highlight: kosi ducks, kosi weaves, kosi goals (rd 2 vs aints) other random highlights: viney goal after about 20 seconds in rd 2 vs aints, having full confidence that lever will mark everything that comes near him, ben brown's first lillee-esque run up and goal...oh, and also winning the first 9 games of the season!
  16. as a free agent? yes as a trade? no
  17. petracca has done it several times
  18. two 2021 second rounders to give the filth the points they need to claim daicos OR our first rounder in 2022 for mine get it done
  19. all games vs gc17 will be graveyard slots for the remainder of this season and beyond; you could definitely see it being a saturday twilight fixture
  20. it REALLY annoys me that the caption is 'mid season review' and the title is 'mid-season update' for the goodwin one great content tho
  21. c'mon tasmanian kangaroos...
  22. gold coast has long been a graveyard for professional sports clubs
  23. has robbie gray done his knee in his 250th?
  24. along with gw$, they're there so the afl can make an extra $30m per year on the broadcast rights... ...of course, it costs $50m to support them...
