We are rather good at holding unusual records

Manning the Mark Rule Change
"who's up? who's up?" maybe the 6 foot 9 dudes facing each other, razor! the 'nominate who rucks' rule has to be the most superfluous of them all - if two blokes from the same team go up, it's a free...it ain't complicated

AFL Live Pass Discontinued
it's all tied in to a larger ecosystem afl, nrl, cricket, local tabloids, sky news, and then the 'authoritative' voice of the oztrayan no different to the uk model (epl, sky, sky news, local tabloids, and then the 'authoritative' voice of the times)

What is your "Go To" Dees Game Highlights Video
that's when we needed a trapper that could put in more than two quarters of effort at a time as a then resident of adelaide i was not a happy camper top five that spring to mind that i was at: 2000 qualifying final comeback against caaaaarlton - bit that gives me the most joy these days when watching the replay is hearing blight get shirty about the ox raising the ball over his head running into goal in, i think, the second quarter and hearing the old misery guts actively barracking for carlton as we stormed home...had fab spot right on the wing, was a glorious afternoon 2018 elimination final against the puddy tatts - beating geelong with their holy trinity all playing after falling agonisingly short against them not once but twice during the season was a glorious thing to happen, plus i got to take my eldest children to the game; prior to this none had been born when the dees last played - let alone won a game - in a finals series 2018 semi-final against poos&wees - after the sheer joy of the week before, i was positively delirious at the end of this game and thought - ha! - sure, we can absolutely take it up to meth coke again (after all, we'd beaten them there four weeks before!) plus i absolutely loathe hawthorn and while they weren't at full strength they are still, probably, my second most detested side after the mob up next... 1991 elimination final against essington - jakovich was being soundly beaten by, i think, alan ezard or shane heard, and then he went absolutely ballistic in the second half to finish with 8 goals as we executed a 10+ goal turnaround to run out easy winners out at arctic park 1990 elimination final against poos&wees - just like in 2018 they were the dominant team of their era but tailing off (albeit they would go on to win the whole shebang all over again in 1991), and we beat then not once but twice in the space of a fortnight with tony campbell and peter rohde doing massive jobs on piggy and the kid of non-finals encounters, cuthbertson going crazy one anzac day vs the filth was pretty spesh, as was seeing jurrah in full flight against the pear a couple of times, once at footy park and once up in darwin with the crowd right behind us up there for about the first and only time that i can recall

AFL Live Pass Discontinued
kayo is integral to the murdoch business going forward; there's no way that it will be sold, unless it is to become 100% news corp streammotion - which is kayo and binge's actual name - is 100% owned by foxtel, which is 65% news corp / 35% telstra

Clarryโs Contract 2021 Edition
williams has played one game of midfield his entire afl career thus far i'd take oliver over cripps, petracca over walsh, and viney over williams any day of the week

Manning the Mark Rule Change
someone who i met with this morning plays with the filth's vfl side in their practice matches he said that every sweeping half-back flanker who uses overlap run in their game - and his example was john noble - will see their possession total skyrocket as a result of this rule interpretation change i asked him who he thought would benefit for the mfc and he said it won't be salem as he doesn't get many handball received, but that it could actually end up being steven may

Restructured Forward Line
we brought in sideshow bob as we want that two pillar structure of b brown / weed plus jackson and fritsch floating around and a couple of smalls in pickett and spargo two are injured and one is missing a huge chunk of preseason due to a bereavement i think they WILL try and keep the structure as intended of two talls, jackson and weed, another small, plus spargo

TRAINING: Wednesday 17th February 2021
i want to see him running from contest to contest too often he sits in the space between; the amount of times i've seen him dawdling around the park drives me to distraction
-
2021 Injury List
Agreed heโs had a rough run
-
Trade Targets
yep a tiger nuffie i know constantly castigates castagna cos he misses shots at goal too often - doesn't see how vital he is in terms of their forward set-up

Clubโs furious about changes to the AFL pathway programme
not another junior direct report?!??

Making Their Mark Documentary
again, by comparison, jezza cameron is probably on double what we are paying ben brown - brown was ooc at the end of last season, vs cameron being on $1m a season heading into 2021 you have to pay a minimum for your salary cap regardless, so it's a moot point
-
Making Their Mark Documentary
we paid overs? effectively preuss for ben brown; one is a bit-part ruckman with less than 20 afl games under his belt who was behind the best ruckman in the league and an exciting man-child, the other is a genuine key forward in the exact position we were looking to fill cats paid far, far more for jeremy cameron in THREE first round picks - his recent output and injury concerns going forward are like-for-like with ben brown

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MAJAK DAW
majak is a jack of all trades, master of none, but i actually don't see him as the 'ruck relief for max' option that same on here do - surely that's the role for luke jackson i think he's best suited behind the ball, as a defender, but he can obviously pinch hit up forward too if needs be
-
Interesting article in The Guardian
we'll have to move majak to chf...
