  1. i don't know how you all booze on during games i'm far too apprehensive and copious alcohol consumption doesn't help that said... might have a couple of nice gin and freshly squeezed lemon with a drop of homemade lemon cordial with a dash of elderflower tonic with lunch...
  2. @GCDee beat me to it...
  3. six hours for talking footy? he's having a lend there
  4. the accuracy of meth coke's goalkicking is fantastic; keeping them in it
  5. definitely a big decision coming up for josh kelly - he stays at gw$ and he's got a guaranteed $8m in his back pocket with another 8 years on an afl list but the query is does he want to stay? i can't see another club going close to the contract that awaits him with gw$
  6. north are a different team down in tasmania
  7. but but but he stopped him from marking it! that's VERBOTEN!! truly one of the more bizarre reasons given by a maggot for some time
  8. razor is a reasonably good decision-maker more often than not nicholls is horrible, and hates melbourne ever since gawn belted away an errant bounce once they are incredibly precious but it's an unforgiving role - they are made to adjudicate on grey areas that can be interpreted differently by three blokes on the field at any time; they should make them full-time professionals and reduce it to two on field at all times
  9. tim english was taken by the dogs with pick 19 in 2016 callum coleman-jones was taken by the tigers with pick 20 in 2018 we obviously picked luke jackson with pick 3 in 2019, and sam de koning was picked by the cats with pick 19 in the same year just last year, nik cox (pick 8 last year for the peptides) has already had a couple of centre bounce attendances despite being as skinny as a rake, and i would imagine zach reid (pick 10, same mob) will inevitably be taught the craft of ruck work too, given that they're both 200cm tall
  10. actually, not much has changed for carlton; they're still decidedly mediocre
  11. i don't think it's 100% accurate, but here is the list of uncontracted players at the end of this season, here's 10 (plus a bonus) that i'd be interested in seeing in red and blue in 2022: harry mckay (carlton) - never gonna happen, primarily cos we are overstocked for key forwards and he'll want a massive payday, and we don't have the 'assets' to trade for him john noble (collingwood) - would slot into our defensive make-up with his pace and ability to lock down on an oppo, but can't see the filth letting him go for that exact reason darcy parish (essendon) - i was hoping the peptides were going to continue to waste him on the half-forward flank and as such he'd want to leave for more opportunity but unfortunately they saw the error of their ways zac merrett (essendon) - should be a primary target as a rfa, if we have the $$ to accommodate him adam cerra (freo) - so smooth, so classy, can't see us being able to satisfy peter bell and put a second feather in his cap after the hogan deal jake riccardi (gw$) - going against my own ethos of 'don't want players who are in and out of other sides' but i think riccardi has been poorly treated by gw$ this year; only query is whether we'd see him as a tall back or forward - we'd likely only look at him if weideman leaves changkuouth jiath (hawks) - lots of teams should chase him but i can't see him leaving the hawks (don tyson (north) - hoping casey recruit him to play at vfl level; he's just a nice guy and deserves to play for a good vfl side) shai bolton (richmond) - can't see him leaving the tigers to go to another melbourne-based club; he'll either stay or flee west jack billings (st. kilda) - as an rfa this year he could be a decent pick-up at a mid-tier price; he looks like he needs a refresh ed richards (footscray) - love his combination of height and pace on the wing i still think our best opportunity to bring in a best 22 player is go the rfa route - zerrett would be in our top few players, and billings would definitely be best 22 the other option is to look at the pre-agents of 2022; that is, those coming up as free agents next season - from this list, i would be keen to explore options for trading for these top 5 pre-agents: brayden maynard (collingwood) - i think he should be our #1 target at the end of this season darcy moore (collingwood) - i don't think he defends as well as others, but imagine may, moore, and lever as our tall defensive trio... jordan de goey (collingwood) - if the filth are having a fire sale again and want to pay part of his contract in 2022, i would back our football dept and fitness staff to get him 'right' to be 'the next petracca' karl amon (pear) - he wanted away two years ago and since then seems to have settled and is playing great footy as an inside / outside mid isaac heeney (sydney) - can't see it happening but does he want to experience footy in a big football town?
  12. i am unsure of the point of bringing in players from oppo sides who will be 'good depth' - particularly if they can't make the 22 of the side that they're in now, i'd have doubts on them making ours for instance i worry about the likes of dow or petrevski-seton at carlton, geelong's narkle, or someone like ainsworth at gc17 who is constantly in and out of his current side despite being ostensibly a 'useful' player - mebbe they're like chandler or baker for us, and solid depth? ideally you add best 22 players to push those on the fringes of yr best side out, not keep them in - it's why if we are targeting someone from another club, i'd love if it was maynard from the filth, cerra from freo, peptides' zerrett (or parish), or either duursma or butters from the pear...the latter are just blue-sky dreaming personally i would expect our salary cap judgement to be fine, and given the raft of signings that we have made and extensions / re-contracts we have executed we should be in a decent position to augment our side with a a quality pick-up from somewhere else either this off-season or next
  13. classique frost
  14. best thing about that viney photo? black boots
  15. he just doesn't track back defensively at all i don't know if it's laziness or incompetence
  16. good contest tonite went with: pear? swans gc17? crows? gw$ tiggas us
  17. naw, missed this! i wanna play!! do another one @demonstone!!!
  18. a ten goal win would be a very pleasant anomaly in this season - for the most part we grind teams down rather than blow them away, with the final quarter against the hawks being the exception in fairness to the pies over the last month or so, they've locked in defensively and been able to stop teams scoring; their issue has been scoring themselves, and as we know we are 'locked in' defensively my expectation is a standard 3-5 goal win
  19. he got the best AND the worst out of his list took over a beaten grand finalist - who the previous year were the youngest and least-experienced premiers on record - and took them backwards every year except for massive jump forward in 2018, thanks to a very good finals series, then another inexorable slide over the next three years 2012: 16 wins 2013: 14 2014: 11 2015: 10 2016: 9 2017: 9 and a draw (so technically an improvement on last year, but finishing position was a rung lower on the ladder) 2018: 15 (but won three finals to make the grand final) 2019: 15 2020: 9 and a draw (in a 17 game season) 2021: 3 (from 12) he's actually had a very impressive list in that time period and other than a good 2018 has not achieved anything like that the quality would indicate the filth should have done i'm worried about them getting a good coach and developing a lot more quickly than i would like...
  20. any player who never walked out of the club after a single year that drafted them with pick 1
  21. mark williams did the same at the pear
  22. would love him at the dees future first round pick from 2022 would get it done OR - given that the filth are after 'points' for 2021 and picking nick daicos - would happily hand over the second round pick we currently 'own' (tied to brisbane) and third round pick (tied to hawthorn) but i think he's easily worth a future first given he's only 24 and is a very, very good player
