The Demon's win against Essendon round one 2005 was one of the best testaments you can make to a team-mate. It was a very moving tribute to Troy as vision of the tsunami was played on the big screens and Trisha spoke her eulogy before the game. Both teams united for the walk-on, the captains walked through the banner together. Then it was game on. And what a win it was. (If you want a copy it's still (probably) available through the AFL Name a Game series. There was a big crowd and it's moments like that that makes you proud to be a Demon. Vale Troy. Lost way too young.

Got the membership pack today...very nice looking gold pass it is too. A couple of the stickers feature the new emblem which also scrubs up well. Good deep rich colours. Welcome Chopper. I'm on both sites, under different monickers, and have always enjoyed your posts and video highlights on 'Ology. However I post there only occasionally now for much the same reasons. (Not that I post here much either but I read 'Land daily.) You only have to check the posts on just about any topic to see which site is current and has a range of usually informed and entertaining views. If I want up-to-date info I always check out 'Land first. Plus it has great Casey news. Welcome aboard and I look forward to your contributions.

Enough yap about losing old leaders. We have young players bursting at the seams to show their wares and willingness to shoulder leadership. Out with the old and in with the new at last. We've largely got a new generation of players forging their own identity and hopefully success. The more responsibility thrust on them now the better. Valenti's a perfect fit for the VFL and that's about it. There's no chance he'll play AFL footy again. That said, he's a real goer and will continue to have success at whatever lesser level he plays at.

Miller back? You having a laugh? For the second time, he's a dud (yes sycophants, I meant it the first time) at AFL level and an occasional goal-kicker at VFL level. Pick him and we're going backwards. Get over it.

Miller beat up on some young players. Big deal. He's still a dud and won't make it back into the seniors unless half the side fall over with serious injuries. I'd be far more concerned about Bate and his future at the MFC which I see as iffy. (Don't forget to pack your sunscreen Matty).
