  1. Where it deserved to go.
  2. Bate and Dunn...god forbid...what are we trying to do?...go backwards?
  3. Some very sloppy play in the backline has cost us this quarter. Game's not over yet boys!
  4. Agree...Etihad is absolute s**te. Bulldoze it tomorrow... couldn't happen fast enough. Whatever happened to the idea of an AFL stand-alone stadium in the North Melbourne rail/industrial precinct. This was floated a couple of years back but nothing appears to have happened since. There's currently a MCC (Melbourne City Council) masterplan for that whole area in terms of residential development but the proposal of an AFL owned ground seems to have slipped off the radar. Anyone interested can access the plan through the MCC website.
  5. Farewell Sean. A lost champion of the mighty Demons.
  6. Best trade bait we've got at the end of the season. Trade high or no deal. That's the way it goes.
  7. Love Wonna and his commitment but it's going to be a long road back if it happens at all. The longer you stay out of the team, the quicker others go past you and the game changes. A trade with GWS might be a decent option for all concerned.
  8. No surprise with Bartram's omission. "A good ordinary footballer" as I've mentioned before. Simply lacks tricks when it comes to the pointy end of any premiership contention down the track.
  9. The first five minutes or so should be fascinating footy. There'll be players from each side running all over the shop trying to shake tags, get the match-ups right while both runners are sprinting around barking instructions from half back to half forward. Great stuff. One of the matches of the season.
  10. Sat with a hardened Hawks supporter at the G today and he said 'Gee I'd love him at Hawthorn. That kid's got great one grab hands and has more footy nous than Bate and Dunn combined'. Hard to disagree.
  11. Thanks for your reports on Casey as always KC. Always a good read. One request...could you post your quarter by quarter scores with a space between? It makes it easier for us old guys to read them!
  12. Mmm...don't see the name Brad Green mentioned anywhere in the hypothetical forward line structure. So I assume he'll be on a HBF? Or not.
  13. "Great, great call. Brilliant. Insightful, well-thought out, no-doubt backed up by a mirage of facts. Fantastic. Thank you." Best contribution by a street from 45HG16 in response to Tatu's post. It's called IRONY Tatu, aka a complete [censored]-take. And loved your emoticon.
  14. "Dick who may come in, Davis who may go forward." (Pipefitter) That's one occasion I'd give Leon the benefit of the doubt and pay the free for manhandling.
  15. "Money in the wings" reference is to a number of die-hard and well-heeled Demons supporters trying to ensure Tom remains at the Demons. And we're not talking about the 60 year olds. I realise it's been said, but it's like a Judd offer that got him to the Blues.
  16. Tom can make whatever decision he chooses. And good luck to him. It's his future anyway. Imagine the moment, however, when he hands back his jumper with 31 on the back. (Special invite for Barass and Jimmy to be there). Won't happen. He's a stayer and whatever deal has to be done with his avaricious management company will be done. Our player payments have been structured pretty smartly to accommodate just such a situation. And there's money in the wings if things go pear-shaped contrary to other opionions.
  17. What's the love-fest about Bartram all about? Straight in? "Good ordinary footballer" as Jack Dyer said.
  18. Put them on the Table asap and frig the contracts. Possible destinations. Newton - any VFL club other than Casey Bate - could Carlton get fooled again? Davey - GWS will need a mentor for any brothers on the list Green - a year ahead of Robbo & JMc...retire gracefully...or Carlton...maybe they won't get fooled again Morton - Shepparton United et al
  19. And I'll even watch the footy show tonight!...if this doesn't get a lot of air time I'll be mighty surprised.
  20. Cloke was drafted 2004, played his first game 2005. He certainly wasn't a "gorilla" then. He's now in his 7th season of senior AFL footy. He's bulked up. Give the same opportunity and window for our boys to do the same.
  21. Hi GS, That's George Moodie, a follower in our first premiership side in 1900. I picked it up from the fullpoints footy website. Cheers, Bob.
  22. Great news on Matthews playing well. I assume he's wearing some sort of head protection?
  23. Lord spare me. Just got back in from work and opened up this post! There are so many wrong or ill-informed opinions/judgements/speculations here I wouldn't know where to begin. That bottle of scotch never looked more attractive.
  24. You're Sigmund...you can obviously work it out for yourself. If not, have a look at the current team list. Bruce and McDonald were supplementary to requirements. Without breaking the posting rules I trust, this is a pedestrian rhetorical post seeking attention.
