  3. this is trash talk & disrespectful to the club.
  4. As witnessed by MFC supporters, Sheedy's currency is vendettas and paybacks. Watch the aussie rules clubs tuck into "GWS" players once his Burke and Wills adventure founders. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/sheedy-wants-to-make-the-dockers-pay/story-e6frf9io-1226144247567
  5. Funny how jack said that the whole club had changed since neeld's arrival, yet jack is yet to meet the coach.
  6. All the bad feelings of this season have washed away, and optimism for our club has been re-ignited with Neeld's arrival. our overly complicated finals system, overlong home and aways and overloaded number of clubs for the moment play second fiddle to a brutal short pre-pre-season of coach culling and new appointments: Neeld, Lyon, McCartney and Verdun Howell for Stkilda. Accompanying the new appointments are the declarations and photo ops of the new coach/es, but what goes up must come down, and the reality check will come once the coaching appointments season concludes and 2012 reality hits. Having said all that, I hope Mark Neeld raises the mighty demons back to the ladder position they held when I got my Ron Barassi boots in Grade 4. I have waited long enough.
  7. Did Darren Lockyer injure his vocal chords playing rugby and is he completely mad? (proposing to play on w/e). Someone who is familiar with this code pls assist.
  8. away strip...
  9. Checker-Hughes: Demonic Smith: Terror, intimidation, charismatic. Beckwith: Ridley: Inspiration. Skilton: Hard, uncompromising. Jones: Big Carl: larger than life (edit) Barassi: charismatic, Intimidation, terror. Northey: Dour, walk the talk. Balmey: Laid back, laconic. Daniher: Laconic, Laid back Bailey: The teacher. Neeld: ??? Feel free to add/subtract or differ. Thanks, bad mistake, he lifted the whole team with his strength
  10. "Rhodes" scholar. (sorry)
  11. 25. Multiple moving targets, especially for kick-ins.
  12. Stretch, Viney, Spalding, Johnson and Dean all came to the Dees around the same time and gave the club a badly needed boost after nearly twenty five years of nothing. He was a key player in that 87-91 period where we won a host of finals and should have won a premiership.
  13. 1. No dribble kicks for goal by Liam Jurrah!
  14. Craig to Melbourne, acc. to Demonology.
  15. a tiny pin-[censored] by mm against the collingwood establishment vis-a-vis his own position.
  16. I know i have the video of this game out in the shed, but I found this: still gives me a lift watching this game.
  17. only if he tells the media that he has an open mind about the idea, and signs a stat. dec. that he wants to be known as a "two-club, two _ - _ - _ player.

  19. That is my total reading of it. In his last years at the Dons he kept reeling off his premiership record as an offset against his lost mojo. getting spurned by essendon then melbourne seriously dinted his mindset. funny how mention of sheedy 'powering through the beers' on a posted twitter was juxtaposed with his bragging about signing ts. part of me even thinks mfc drew gws into taking scully by making a bid they knew would be topped. end result is melbourne go to the well again and hopefully get four good knees.
  20. Is there a term in Poker where you off-load a weak hand in order to get a better hand? Greater Western Sydney's taking gamble on Tom Scully's knee
  21. Great player of a successful era for the Dees. Light-bodied, spectacular mark and quality run and carry player.
  22. $38,000.00 (or was that my street address?) I saw a clip of him on utube the other day having a shot for goal for Sturt in a final. he launched a big torp that went 45% off course. obviously the dees brains trust didn't have access to that footage. i always had a soft spot for 'tilly', 'Diamond Jim', 'topaz' tilbrook, 'tillendrium' tillbrook as lou richards variously called him.
  23. wait a minute pal, i am not advocating bringing back the drop kick, although i am sorely tempted. in 'my day', that is when i started following football two clubs that had never won a premiership became regular finalists and won premierships (hawthorn/stkilda), carlton and richmond had not won premierships for decades became regular premiers. north melbourne shortly after broke the drought driven by our Ron. melbourne dropped out of the loop because they wouldn't pay $$$ for recruitment. The poaching you refer to was mostly from interstate clubs to victoria ie polly farmer, denis marshall, barry cable and many others. that black history doesn't warrant dismantling victorian teams in 2011 just to create mathematical parity to accommodate pay TV scheduling. if the number of vic teams is reduced the whole pie collapses because the mcg (or any other stadiums) won't fill to watch greater western rugby versus gold coast sunshine. i favour a national competition but not one driven by mercenaries whether they be footballers or administrators.
