  1. BTW the way, l wish him well but he is definitely a different version to '21. It was on the news.
  2. After seeing him kitted out today in Sergio Silvagni's old shorts l think he could now fairly be labelled "Traccta".
  3. So many parallels with Barassi, who left without saying goodbye. Fortunately it only took 57 years to snag our next flag.
  4. It's a load dice to get the rugby states on the mcg in September.
  5. Nah.... The '21 flag was sublime, especially the part after Bontempelli's victory goal. There is no entitlement to follow-up premierships, just ask StKilda. We are living in times where AFL head office are trying to force-feed a flag into franchise rugby states. At least there is the fig-leaf of compensation, not like the old days when Barassi, Alves, Wells, Keenan etc could just walk out the door.
  6. CP5 and CO13, two sides of a faded, yet highly collectable penny.
  7. We let Barassi go in '65, now we are (possibly) letting Petracca go in 2025. I smell a rat.
  8. We need to snag a few midfielders.
  9. Petracca to Melbourne, Humphrey to Playschool.
  10. Elegantly framing this as a one-off situation in order to prevent a stampede.
  11. Absolutely. It's a high-stakes game of chicken, with our premiership superstars being dangled out the window to "turn heads". Wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if ALL these three greats return, somewhat chastened - to the demon fold for a "fresh start". At the end of the day, it's the only way to prise back some of the Victorian players from the Nepo baby clubs. StKilda and Carlton (Curnow) are doing the same thing in their own ways.
  12. It doesn't matter how much, as long as you have a flutter.
  13. How would Geelong Bayley Smith fit into this new governance, one wonders.
  14. https://youtu.be/TcOyoDIoQFQ?si=CQ_5mwO_mcJ9KUbY
  15. "Gettable" are the AFL proxies for killing off the middle tier Victorian clubs and establishing phoney franchises in the badlands
  16. Naah, The Fitzroy/Brisbane combine will entrench Aussie Rules in the heathen states.
  17. Many parallels with Barassi, except that Barassi left in the dead of night, with no compensation. No doubt Christian is holding off before deciding whether Steven King can lead MFC back to the promised land.
  18. One of only the very few times Collingwood has beaten the MFC in a finals game.
  19. Liverpool have scored in the 10th minute. Everton 0, Liverpool 1.
  20. That's awesome, and for peace of mind you should follow this through with some sort of deadline in mind. (Otherwise you will never do it). If it was me, l would choose key games through VFL/AFL history, and how those games turned on strategic decisions made by the coaches in the lead up to the game, or half-time/three quarter time player addresses. Or changes in fortune brought about by pre-season campaigns, or plotting undertaken by key figures to restore a club to greatness ie George Harris/Carlton in the 1960s. / Percy Cerutty, John Kennedy and Hawthorn in early 60s. North in 70s. Checker-Hughes in the 30s. To save time l would use TROVE for deeper in-the-moment background info regarding those games, or campaigns. Best of luck!. PS If you could persuade some retired football "thinker" of the merits of your project that may further inspire you.
  21. Was that the guy who did his shoulder in a final? He was a mature-age, pack marking forward.
  22. He just wants to play for a team that wears headbands.
