  1. The picture of Jack Viney giving Christian a hug is awesome. Genuine warmth. The momentum is really building at the club at the moment. So exciting!!!
  2. We are 4th in Contested Possessions behind Sydney, Adelaide and the Bulldogs. We are 4th in Clearances behind Adelaide, Sydney and Hawthorn.
  3. They are all TBC on the AFL injury update article. The Saints had a short break too, might play into our favour.
  4. I think the two likely teams to drop out are Gold Coast and Geelong. I've watched the cats a few times and with the exception of the round 1 win against the Hawks I don't think they are playing amazing football. They lost to GWS, and since then have beaten Brisbane, Essendon and Port. Not teams that are playing well.
  5. I think(hope) the Essendon game was a wake up call for all the players that if they don't turn up with intent they'll get beaten. Also, serious pressure for spots amplifies the need to come ready for play. Also, I said I was optimistic, not confident!!!?
  6. My first game for the year tonight. Very excited to see the team play and optimistic of a good result. Go Dees
  7. In response to someone backing Trengove. By stating those things about Mitchell you were suggesting that Trengove was none of those things.
  8. Jack Trengove has missed two years of footy, has played just 3 games in his comeback. Lets give the bloke a chance before stamping his papers as too slow and finished. For [censored] sake he has busted his arse to get over this injury and get back on the park. For that alone he deserves our praise and admiration. Reading some comments you get the feeling that people are actually willing him to fail because it suits their narrative.
  9. Although I forgot Seedsman was part of it too, he's been pretty good for the Crows.
  10. Touch wood and I don't want to jinx Ben Kennedy before tomorrow's game, but at this stage we've won this trade.
  11. Agreed. Also I think Alice Springs is where our academy will be located so it's a logical connection.
  12. I'd be filthy if I barracked for the crows. On the wrong end of 2 50:50 decisions with a minute to go cost them the game. They were bloody good though. They look top 4 material.
  13. No cant see that happening. Based on the interview I'd be confident of us only playing 1 game in NT from next year on. Re China I got the impression he was a bit [censored] off that the AFL hadn't involved us considering what we've already done.
  14. I think he will play and that by doing it this way its actually a very well considered ploy to bring him in without the pomp and ceremony we've seen in the past. By naming Garlett and saying Petracca will only play if Garlett doesn't get through training will place far less expectation on him than announcing on the Tuesday that he will play and then wheeling him through half a dozen press conferences and photo opportunities in the week leading up. Compare how Watts' debut was built up in comparison to Petracca (should he play), it's chalk and cheese and I think a good plan. I'm probably completely wrong but I've got a feeling that the selectors doubt Garlett will come up. Also, having Oliver out means it limits the number of very young players in the team on limited minutes.
  15. Tigers have moved in the betting. Now Favourites for what it's worth.
  16. Out of interest can you take out the Bombers game (assumed outlier) to see how it looks?
  17. At the start of the year I thought no based purely on what I perceived was a tough draw. On current form Port x 2 Pies x 2 Freo don't look unbeatable. i still don't think we will but I think we'll go close.
  18. This might help http://m.afl.com.au/news/2016-04-20/giving-it-away.mobileapp
  19. Underdone Maric and Delidio. Interesting way to go with limited rotations.
  20. IMO should be 10 mins either side and then golden goal. A point, particularly a rushed behind, seems like a terrible way to decide what would to that point have been an epic game.
  21. I still feel more comfortable when the ball is in Salem's hands than the majority of the players in our side.
  22. The official statistics have revised those numbers somewhat: Terlich 36D 12M 2T Michie 32D 7M 3T Petracca 29D 10M 3T 1G Grimes 27D 7M 2T 2G Garland 24D 6M 0T ANB 21D 4M 11T 2G Trengove 20D 3M 8T 1G Newton 15D 3M 0T 1G Smith 12D 3M 1G Weideman 9D 7M 1T 3G Hulett 8D 3M 0T 2G
  23. If Matt Jones is in Hospital with sore ribs, whether there is major damage or not, he has to be in doubt. Vince in for Matt Jones not sure who goes out for Garlett. i thought Frost and Pederson were both good. Harmes looked sore too so he may get a rest.
  24. Best of luck to Jayden Hunt. Hope we get to see him with his afterburners on streaming through the middle.
  25. I disagree Undeeterred. If think we have targeted a few players, particularly last year, where it has directly impacted the results. Typically it's been the Captain of a leader of the opposition. Round 1 Gold Coast - Viney targeted Ablett. His impact was limited and we won. The game versus Geelong, Viney targeted Selwood and he played sore. We won Adelaide, Vince gets in Dangerfield's face, narrow loss, we kick straight we probably win. the 2nd game v Pies, Viney and I think Vandenberg both got Pendlebury a couple of times. He was sore, output down. We won. Take out the leaders
