This has been my thinking for a while. I am sick and tired of cringeworthy Grand Final weeks and Grand Finals. I got on board with the Bulldogs story after they won it but in the lead up and during the game I was barracking for the Swans. However my worst case of this feeling was last year. It was really hard to cop Richmond, a team that had been as mediocre as us for the last 30 odd years break through the glass ceiling first. I remember thinking the only thing that could match this or be worse would be if the filth did it. For once if we are not there I’d like to see a completely inoffensive Grand Final. I would have killed for a West Coast v GWS game. I am not one of these people who wants a Victorian club to keep it in Victoria. I know the footy purists would hate it but who cares.

I think it would have been a lot worse if our full time score was a record low. There's plenty of teams in history that have had pathetic first half scores but come out to get a bit of scoreboard respectability.

Have you seen the AFLW? The girls are as tough as old boot leather.

So how would we actually get May? Would Frost become a casualty?

I’d have Lewis in the starting 22 but I would expect him to be out of it and replaced by this time next year.

Just keep winning, get more Friday night games, convert some of the new attendees into members and the rest will follow.

I’m not guttered but I am gutted. And that reminds me I do need new gutters so if anyone knows a guy let me know.

How do you get into the F squad?

The football world may know it but they will also know our response when they see it. If we continue to fold in this scenario then you’ll be proven right but if we learn from this and take the next step then they will have no choice but to applaud us.

I agree we need to add more pace but let’s not over correct on this. Leg speed is great to have but I think equally important is fine tuning and executing our game plan better. Speed of ball movement is just as important and the fastest way to move the ball will always be this way with the odd run and carry.

Yeah still a burning feeling today. Very very disappointed but for me though missing the finals last year hurt more. Not saying this didn’t but last year felt like we did a lot of hard yards and had nothing to show for it. We have this time. Many of these players enter the 50-100 game bracket now and there is plenty of improvement to come.

My thinking is pretty much the same. I’ve always had a passing interest in VFL but I have no affinity for Casey other than our affiliation and only care about how our players perform in this team. I do understand there are others though that have embraced the Casey footy club as their own and that is great. When MFC aligned with Sandringham I personally embraced that footy club and went to many games and events. They were a great footy club in my opinion. However when this affiliation ended I didn’t jump on board Casey like I did with Sandy. If anything I have more affinity with the Zebras. I respect all the people that support Casey and love the club in isolation.

Umpiring was bad. I hate criticising this aspect of the game but this was up there with the Fri night Port game this year.
