PODCAST: Rd 05 vs Essendon
You're pretty much all set then! Zencaster will do all the audio legwork for you. Just hit record and you're golden! I would hope he hasn't taken everything. His Rodecaster mixer weighs a few Kgs of baggage weight alone đHopefully he gets a bit of a break as well.

Too right EO. Hope you're doing well đ

Welcome to Demonland: Jai Culley
I just love watching him every time he plays now. He's got this extra bit of reach or flexibility factor that few others have, it's hard to explain I just like it. Only going to get better.

PODCAST: Rd 05 vs Essendon
If you need any help or general advice with the recording, mixing, exporting and general putting togethering don't hesitate to reach out. I'm very used to the old school method of podcast producing, not up with Andy's whiz bang Zencaster stuff đ

TICKETMASTER
With family it would be a nightmare, passing the phone back over the turnstile or having to tell the guy that you have multiple tickets while there is a big line behind you. I'd be doing the same thing; Each family member gets a physical ticket or card, scans it and walks in, presto. I wasn't aware some VFL games were doing this, that doesn't sound good. Occasionally I head to Lakeside Oval to catch a South Melbourne soccer game and a few years ago they tried something similar from some random ticketing mob. It was terrible so they got rid of it and went back to ticket sales on the gate! Probably made sense for a 7,000 seat stadium in reality.

TICKETMASTER
I'd happily embrace the digital method if it were much more reliable. I left the house last week without my plastic card and was trying to get my digital tickets while waiting for the tram. Nothing showed up in the app so had to run back. A lot more variables with digital as well that people either don't know or don't tell you about. In the finals a few years ago I was trying to scan the digital ticket and it wouldn't work. Got the textbook "Turn your brightness up bro" comment from the guy behind me despite it being full brightness (not everyone is stupid). It turned out that because I have my phone in dark mode all the time, the barcode of the ticket looked slightly different and wouldn't scan. I also just don't love the idea of being at the mercy of the phone battery. My phone is 4 years old now and the battery very much on the fritz. All it needs is one day of one of two apps unexpectedly pumping too much background data and suddenly half my battery is gone. Physical method has less variables. If it doesn't work it's usually because it's a fake ticket or you didn't pay your membership, much simpler đ

TICKETMASTER
Plastic cards and printed tickets for as long as I can help it. Don't want to rely on the digital thing yet.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
Aesthetically it may not be much different. When you factor in the mentality, philosophy and instinct part, it is quite different. In the past we would sell out to the system and not deviate too much. This meant defaulting to long down the line kicks and up and unders out of the middle. We now see guys playing on feel ie. taking the first option, surging and paddling it forward at every opportunity, forwards moving and speed of ball movement off the charts. Last year there were games we barely laid a glove on opposition mids, now we are tackling ferociously and keeping it in there giving us a better chance to win the clearance. I think this is the biggest reason for the increased clearances. We might have been trying to evolve to something similar in recent years but the way we've gone about achieving it this year has been very different.

Early All Australian team
I'm fine with him being in the side. Was just saying it was based off two wildly good games, which it was. Who would be a better choice for that HFF spot after Rd 4? Probably no-one.

Got Ponsford Level 4 between middle to front for $270. Give that a shot?

Blake Howes appreciation thread.
As mentioned above, I still don't think he's found his best position yet as well as he's doing in this one. In the youth system he was highly touted for his leap and marking in the forward half and we know about his athleticism. What we are seeing with guys like Sharp, Chandler and the like in terms of the up and down running he could easily do. Keen to see how he evolves.

POSTGAME: Rd 04 vs Gold Coast
I mean yeah of course! Who doesn't like having their cake and eating it! đ I'm thinking this to myself after every MFC game lately. Reminding myself to make the most of it and never take it for granted. He deserves every accolade he gets.

Stats File 2026 Season
Very telling that only 5 players attended centre bounces (6 if you count the few the Petty rucked in)
