Why have we let them back in it?

What was Hogan doing on his own? I don’t care

Wagner the weak link

Nice start guys! Capping it off is the Fritsch machine!

I can’t see this being a blowout. I think Brisbane will push us most of the way, we should win but I’m thinking 3 goals

Still go to the North game

I remember when that happened and with several other similar misses thinking this may come back to get him when he’s shooting for a lead. Was bound to happen I guess

Why does one horrible quarter always happen (and kill us)?
layzie replied to titan_uranus's topic in Melbourne Demons
I couldn’t believe it to be honest. After a long summer of a burning in the guts to think that we could just fade out like that. I felt like going to sleep. This just can’t happen if you want to be a good side, as mentioned before you can have the 5 to 10 minute lapses but a whole quarter doesn’t cut it. -
Well they just showed Max’s miss again. I didn’t realise at the ground how close to goal it was. Agonising, but I really hope it builds character and he doesn’t stay down too long

Alright game day! Can’t remember the last season opener where I had such mixed emotions of looking forward to it and not being able to watch. See you at the g and I’ll say Dees by 18

A lot of people here are happy to see him do well. And honestly, I wish I was like that. I hope this is as good as it gets for Watts at Port. I want to see a few stinkers and pooncey attempts at tackles like we had to watch for us all those dark afternoons at the g.

Why is Wagner in? His selection makes about as much sense as nothing.

Would have been nice to see a Melbourne side win some silverware -
I’m wondering where Mathieu is going to end up.

Caro digs up old wounds of Camp Fiasco on eve of season.

Done and dusted now. Hopefully we can take a lot out of the experience and build some trust between FD and playing group. In the meantime we got a season to prepare for. -
Not happy with these. They are too clean! Would be nice to keep some traditions the way they are but that’s not the AFL way

Dees Drink Own Bathwater According To Malthouse

Like many others here, I think Mick is right. I don’t see this as a bad thing either, this is the time of the year that these articles need to land. We need to remember that we haven’t done anything yet and that nothing short of hard work and honest footy will get us where we need to go. -
We have to make the finals, either this year or next.

We need to make the 8 this year. Gotta draw the line somewhere -
No more Inside Football player ratings from games? That's no good, found that to be a really helpful resource.

Like many of you I pretty much swore off football after Round 23. To be honest still not really over it. Now I find myself quietly confident in our side but expectations are still being tempered. I don’t want to go through last year again so just trying to keep those emotions in check while looking forward to footy again. It’s a strange position to be in but that’s just the way it is

Great news! Something Mitch offers is the ability to just get the ball to his boot and put it in the vicinity of the goal. To use a soccer term he turns a half chance into a goal quite naturally.

Happy birthday Ron! Let’s get that flag!

Post Match Discussion: JLT #1 vs North Melbourne
layzie replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I was actually impressed with Oscar. Sure he did get done for a few holds but I thought he showed more confidence with his kicking and hit some key targets. There’s gonna be time when he’s playing above his weight but hopefully having someone like Lever there to block up the holes will free him up a bit.
