The average score for the league for R17 was 2,052! Two rounds to go featuring Brookvale Demons (#2/R17 Score: 2,322) against Blease's Wheezes (#4/R17 Score: 2.207) in R18 and Range Rover facing the bottom two (possibly securing his #1 position and chance to improve %). Ps, DeevVoted I'd like to play next year (this time ill remember to set up my team before the season!)
  2. "The players are more like soldiers following a chain of command." - Defence echoed in Nuremberg much? "Some of this stuff is like the debate about climate change. It's highly technical and complex" - I thought it was just invisible stuff? "AOD-9604 (which sounds like a planet from the Alien franchise)." - Last time I laughed that hard I fell off my dinosaur. Got to be the most awkward, confusing and meaningless rubblish to come out of the Age churnalism camp in a while.
  3. That's a bit unfair - those Oz Kick kids put alot of effort into their games.
  4. What would you expect him to say? List wise Neeld did the right thing. It needed to be culled. Short term pain for long term gain. HOWEVER; his approach to seniors could have been better, he was too heavy handed and signed the right people but for too long. Creating disgrunted/leaving seniors, massive hole in our midfield, and players like Pedersen and Jamar being signed for 3 years. When you combine that and the injuries (Dawes and Clark never playing together, Grimes/Trengove ect), you can understand why his coaching was so bad. Had to resort to zoning and coaching a team which cant provide 1st efforts let alone 2nd against fitter, more skilled and experienced teams. We will never know what he could do with a good list - thats life and thats why we should move on.
  5. Saw Jamar a couple of days ago and he is still in a moon boot and saw Viney today and he seemed fine. I swear I'm not stalking these guys: both randomly walked past me when I was eating cheap Chinese takeaway...
  6. Who cares. He moved to Carlton 6 years ago and is now past his prime; would be on the same list as Silvia, Jamar, and Dunn. Anyway Melbourne wouldnt have been able to afford him... no way we could have got him to care so much about the environment as Visy did.
  7. It's not as dramatic as you think. They have that right if they believe someone has been doping. Similar to police being able to search your car if they have reasonable evidence or belief that you have something illegal in it (such as you have just been caught drink driving). They can't just search you willy nilly, similar to ASADA - they can't just demand interviews or documents.
  8. How is WADA banning Powerade not an extreme?
  9. To be honest I don't see where O'Brien would fit in our list. We have Garland, Frawley, Terlich, Clisby, Grimes, Tommy Mac, MacKenzie, Pedersen ect. The money he would want could be used on getting a better mid which is the real issue. Also he is a [censored].
  10. Alot of people have forgotten that Watts played his best footy under Neeld in 2012. For a #1 pick who has been playing for 5 years he hasn't exactly shown alot to justify $450k as some people have people have been wanting to offer him. He is playing better than at the start of the season but got to show alot more to save his bacon.
  11. I was at the game in Sydney last year - got royally rolled. Can't help but feel that we will get rolled again this year; particularly with Tippett in. Happy to be proved wrong
  12. To quote the philosopher Vin Diesel; "it doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile. Winning is winning".
  13. Great news everyone. David Jones is having a sale on a cream with AOD9604. You don't even have to go to a pharmacy, its now $44.25 and you can get 88 frequent flyer points!! "Key Ingredients include: - TPM® Dermal Delivery Technology scientifically proven to deliver up to 5 x greater absorption of key ingredients into skin - Hexadecapeptide 9604: a powerful peptide scientifically proven to assist in the visible appearance of cellulite. (USA Consumer Study, 2011) - Forskolin: belongs to the mint and lavender family, helps optimise the appearance of skin smoothness and tone."
  14. I also heard that from Fitzpatrick
  15. Last player I can remember who could kick as good on his left as on his right was Nathan Ablett Being ambidextrous isn't as necessary any more. Provided you're accurate, there is no obligation to swap when having shots at goals. Can lead to players being too used to banana-ing to compensate (see Franklin during Coleman Medal winning season) - but if you're accurate its fine (see Watts with this shots at goal on wrong side this year)
  16. Ignorance isn't a defence against the law. That applies for approved or banned substances for sports. I have a few mates involved with VFL clubs and they say to their players google everything. From headache tablets to cold and flu - do not take anything unless you have researched it because its your body and you will be accountable... FFS there is an WADA phone app for checking substances Whats interesting about this admission is that its slightly different from some of the things we have heard. We previously heard that they signed a consent form however they were not aware of the drugs they were being injected with. Its interesting that now Watson said he was told it was AOD9604 and that it was proved. Now there is an onus on the players to have checked and they aren't the victims of lack of information as they have painted themselves to be. Hearing him saying it was a new frontier and he has never taken that many injections before reminds me of that story going around that an 18 year old kid was injected more than 50 times... really sad.
  17. Spot on Nasher. Seemed a contrived answer and would have been approved by the club, which raises the question - why would you admit that, why would the club want this to be public? An attempt to throw off the investigation? Me thinks probably not An attempt to periodically start to admit guilt so the AFL wont be too heavy handed like the Crows and Tippet draft tampering scandal? Me thinks probably yes Either way you look at it one thing is for certain: there is no way the AFL can sweep this under the rug.
  18. With his hip op and that he is a development player he has beaten my expectations this year. Showed glimpses of why people have held that skill wise he was the best in the draft. Can't wait to see what a preseason will do to him.
  19. People would have said the same thing about Hird at pick #79! I think he will be around for a while. Not only is he a good defender full stop but the way he can be dynamic and run through the corridor and make his own play is similar to Enright. Only limitation is that he cant be a #1 or #2 defender. Thats ok now because we have Garland, Frawley, Pedersen and Tommy Mac. I'd get his number but I have Neitz First world problems
  20. I just meant that he should train with him because Davey has to have one of the most effecient kicks on the list. His ability to hit some marks last night were great. Davey's work ethic has to be one of the best on this list I reckon. Come back from being seriously out of form and earnt himself another year.
  21. I don't think trading Gysberts to get Pedersen was bad, and he has been improving. But signing him up for 3 years was pretty optimistic. It's done, he is getting better, did well against Koschitzke yesterday, move on.
