  1. Franklin and Thomas may end up the poster boys for the pitfalls of Free Agency. Building a list continues to prove to be an art form that can't be mastered with $.
  2. When we found out that we would get a low 20's pick we feigned our disappointment appropriately.
  3. I agree with most of that but he has Matty Bate level agility. A very limited footballer, and I don't think he is AFL standard.
  4. It has been perplexing to see Jack playing excellent footy in that NAB cup game against Richmond then see his form tail away quickly. Relief in a way to see that he probably struggled due to injury rather than not being good enough.
  5. I coach my local u14 side which both of my sons play in. We won 122 to nil last Sat. My eldest boy is a good chance of at least training with the Falcons u15s next year depending on his attitude. My interest in footy has change and my love of the game is different. The dees are the ex girlfriend that I gave my heart to only to have it walked all over. I can't help but take an interest in her but the sight of her cuts deep.
  6. Its a game, they kick a piece of leather and air around, catch it, punch it..... we have the luxury of caring about such trifles. So the bloke can't play footy for us anymore, I wish him all the best in getting his life into perspective. I pray that he gets the continued support that he needs and that he can keep finding the strength to pull himself out of that hole.
  7. Good thread, and as was discussed before our first game, when our bottom 6-10 are as bad as ours, it is very hard to be competitive against good sides.
  8. No he definitely had it when he hit us.
  9. Put a couple of filth players up, see what happens?
  10. I'm sure that your medical records will accurately reflect what you trained health professional has treated you with.
  11. Dank "But at the end of the day, right, if we have to wait for an absolute blueprint piece of scientific literature on everything that is used in exercise we would end up using nothing." That statement alone seems to underpin the philosophy behind the Essendon program.
  12. Depression can be as life threatening as cancer. I wonder if some of the shallow thinkers on here would be as flippant if Mitch had a potentially terminal disease. Many posts here are shameful and a sad reflection of ignorance in a broader social sense.
  13. I think it will come. At this stage the coaching staff will be drilling footy fundamentals into them Playing unsociably can misfire on a young team and they can lose focus, when their primary focus needs to be getting the footy and putting it through the sticks.
  14. Probably a better option than Pedersen.
  15. 6 N Jones, our best by a mile, super game. Relentless courage. 5 Watts 4 Dunn 3 Vince 2 Tyson 1 M. Jones
  16. Our failure to attack the goal face was frustrating, we tried a lot of dinky passes out wide that were easy to knock out of bounds or repel. A tall target would have straightened us up.
  17. We were always going to struggle with that team.. against any opposition. Surprised that we actually had an opportunity to win, that is with our only real tall forward subbed out, another tall who played most of the game on one leg. Howe our other avenue to goal also looked lame. The midfield is definitely vastly improved. Game style and structure is apparent. We failed to attack the goal face due to a lack of forwards, we should have pushed the ball deeper and straighter anyway. Tom Mc staying on the ground was costly.
  18. Displaying your usual class, give it a rest.
  19. Georgiou to win the hearts of the Dees faithful and begin to obtain cult figure status.
  20. Dyson Heppell stocks continue to rise. Watson is unstoppable and they get Chapman, we got Byrnes. Daniher will be scary.
  21. It was over regardless, just trying to take a few down with them.
  22. Operation Deflection backfires.
  23. Look there is still a lot to look forward to, excited to see our new midfield in action. Those injuries have exposed a number of players who would struggle to get a game at 15 or 16 other clubs. Whilst we look a lot sharper in our top dozen, we are still just as weak in our bottom 6, and this is likely to be the case for a number of weeks. I'm just a little disappointed that I can't look at the side and consider it a solid unit, one that could worry a good side. I'll get over it.
