It was reported as a casual conversation at a public function in a public place. If the conversation happened as reported then there is no reason the player wouldn't expect it to be repeated. There is no breach of trust in these circumstances unless SD holds some official position within the club. It't not exactly ground breaking information just a player's reported view. It's not anything that would be considered sensitive and it's possibly not even true or may be embelished. It's up to the reader to determine it's truth, accuracy and relevance. It's a forum, if all bull-sh-it was censored the forum would cease to exist.

"A simple man believes anything, but a prudent man gives thought to his steps." This is the internet, where unicorns graze freely, lawyers espouse the truth and James Hird is a good bloke who is misunderstood.

I agree, but if true or accurate the player should be smarter.

Cuddles....is that you?

Geez.. I had a grumpy day didn't I.

How will the gameplan evolve with a forward line?
jabberwocky replied to Dees2014's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yep and I think we are dreaming if we think that Dawes, Hogan, Clark and and maybe Fitzy are just going to make us instantly better. I think given the place that each of these players is coming from we may actually go backwards for a while once they start to trickle back in. Roos will know that there will need to be a defensive balance up forward, and that 2 or 3 big blokes up front may cause us issues coming back the other way. It will take time to get it right. -
Without reinventing the wheel, uncontested possession is absolutely crucial to winning games of footy. Hopefully we have begun to address our inability to work our way through inside sticky inside situations and also hold on to the footy in space. i was amazed to see some of the handball chains that we thought our way through against the tiges, as well as our ability to provide options out wide. I have said it before, it is amazing how much better skills look when there are viable targets to hit. People will laud our greater skill level when I feel it was mostly due to our ability to create space, run hard and do so with confidence that improved our efficiency. This can be improved more easily and quickly than skills. NB: A real contested possession is of greater worth than an uncontested possession and this will be for time eternal.

How will the gameplan evolve with a forward line?
jabberwocky replied to Dees2014's topic in Melbourne Demons
Spot on. Tall targets may mean we will have better efficiency going forward, but I don't think it will or should change too much. I would hope that we don't start bombing it in just because there are some big blokes up there. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - ALEXIS GEORGIOU
jabberwocky replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I don't think the plan will be for him to take the resting rucks when we start playing the real stuff. I reckon he will be used for the tricky match ups, the ones that Garland often takes. Garland may be released into a more attacking role perhaps? -
Its all part of master plan to have Roosy sign on for a few more years.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - ALEXIS GEORGIOU
jabberwocky replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I reckon he will be elevated. I loved his work, looked like a veteran. I think he has the game to transfer to the real stuff. Physical player and he did hit targets, sometimes under real pressure. Very handy. -
NAB Challenge 1 - Richmond v Melbourne

He loves the sound of his own voice but he does make some good points. He likes to remind us all how clever he is and awesome he was. -

Too early for the 2013 recruiting team to take a bow.....but the signs are very good. -
What are your feelings towards each opposition club?

What I really want is for all of them to hate us again. -
ONE SMALL STEP FOR 2014 & ONE GIANT LEAP FOR DEMONKIND
jabberwocky replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Stuck out for me also. We had players around the contest who did not panic and continued to be creative and create options. Also the almost complete absence of long kicking. -
ONE SMALL STEP FOR 2014 & ONE GIANT LEAP FOR DEMONKIND
jabberwocky replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Clearances Vince 5 Tyson 4 Cross 4 13 we wouldn't have won last year. With a functioning midfield and some fit forwards we will worry a few sides. NB: Tyson will end up our best clearance player. -
NAB Challenge 1 - Richmond v Melbourne
jabberwocky replied to Bedraggled Dee's topic in Melbourne Demons
Indeed. But it is nice to see a game structure, see us keep possession of the football and operate with a functioning midfield. Keep a lid on it by all means... but there are some excellent signs. We still need to be able to cope with the increased physicality, speed and pressure of the real stuff. -

Grant Thomas twitter attack on Paul Roos???
jabberwocky replied to Vipercrunch's topic in Melbourne Demons
Roos words have a higher purpose than self adulation. He is rebuilding the confidence of a broken club. He is trying to sell hope to members, administration and players. As a coach his first job is to get the club to believe him. If he can't achieve that then we are roo ted. -

Hiccups can be quite debilitating.

Neeld made a lot of mistakes, but this wasn't one of them
jabberwocky replied to TGR's topic in Melbourne Demons
Both coaches were poor and almost polar opposites. Both were poor choices for the MFC, who was better or worse is really only relevant for phallus comparisons on Demonland.
