  1. Not bitterness, relief.
  2. No worries. The language is very similar to old Nudge's.
  3. This is standard. Still has five charges.
  4. Nudge? I have heard that we are into Shiel as well from a good source and that a deal was looking ok.
  5. Not agile enough to play small. Not AFL standard.
  6. Treat him as a free agent, and expect a compo pick? Any club he "chooses" have us over a barrel. How will the AFL and club manage this? There is only the Mal Michael precedent prior to FA.
  7. "Michael's actions are disgraceful and make a mockery of the AFL draft system that ensures club contracts are not at the mercy of players' hidden agendas or changing whims," Bowers said. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/mal-michael-move-peeves-lions/story-e6frf9if-1111112581259
  8. Close. Moreland is from Geelong West-St Peters. Grgic is Bell Post Hill.
  9. Watching the Mitch Clark situation with interest. Pick 11 was sacrificed for him and his few performances were of a high standard. KPFs don't grow on trees. How will we respond when he nominates his "preferred club"
  10. I wonder if we will simply refuse to trade him. What then will the AFL do, will we get compensated? I wonder what PJ has planned?
  11. While I am not suggesting that Mitch has deliberately set out to manipulate the system, the situation he is in is certainly being exploited by his manager to get him to the club of his choice with the $ that he wants. He is essentially a free agent. He is not contracted to MFC. When his intentions become known it will be interesting to see the response from the club and the AFL. Nothing was learned from the Mal Michael debacle. The system is still open to exploitation.
  12. http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/former-demon-mitch-clark-close-to-deciding-on-his-preferred-new-afl-club-20140924-10li4y.html Ok. Apparently Clark is a free agent now. Shopping around for the best deal and the right "fit", as long as they are in finals contention.
  13. Dandeeman was great, i miss him.
  14. Priority pick won't be issued because of Jack Watts
  15. I'm still very much a Dangerfield sceptic but I read the thread now with a slight rise of the left eyebrow.
  16. Important, hopefully for us.
  17. I was not a fan of the old Port Adelaide. When Williams, The Chad and Treadrea were there. I didn't like their footy ethos. It has changed a lot recently. I was barracking hard for them last night. I said somewhere else that their fitness and conditioning department has performed miracles.
  18. I reckon they have been sold an alternative story. Keeping it quiet and not asking too many questions for strategic reasons.
  19. Yeah missed the point. We have a player that doesn't want to play for us who has some value. Hows, whys and wherefores are meaningless. Hand wringing, moaning and rasing fists do nothing for our club. We need to obtain the best possible result for our football club and improve our list. Your idea of taking some sort of moral stance and allowing the player to walk for nothing is stupid.
  20. Really none of it matters. A pragmatic approach is required and it presents as an opportunity to improve our list. We are in no position to allow an opportunity to pass.
  21. Worksafe are all over it. The work is essentially all done for the investigators. They will await outcomes before they hit.
  22. Sam Mitchell I believe? edit: actually both Mitchell and Cotchin, they tied for 2nd
  23. and probably midfield and defence. I think most clubs would be looking at Sydney and seeing if any of thier second tier juniors will be seeking more opportunity and dollars.
  24. What do you know about Smedts, have heard some less than favourable things about him as a bloke.
