If every club started threads on every player they should have taken the internet would be broken. This is the draft. We can't look at our drafting and judge it on an isolated pick, we look at the result as a whole. As a whole we have failed dismally.

I think it's also about making your worst player better, even more so when you have no bonafide match winners. Our worst players happen to be worse that most. We need to prop up the bottom half of the list with actual AFL standard players and we need to do this cheaply. Hopefully the match winners will materialise through the draft or high end trades.

From what I remember of him, took a long while to get cemented in the side but once he did was very good, especially in their best years. Things seem to have gone backwards rapidly for him, why?

West is not a bad kick, not the greatest ruckman but does a lot of other things well. He was good before going down this year. I like him.
