There was clearly doubt from Roos on whether Mitch's comeback was either the right decision or likely to be successful. We would be extremely naive to think that this was the first dialogue between Clark and the club re the comeback. He has been training under our watch for some time. The MFC are in the best position to predict the likelihood of success of any comeback. Mitch's actions and the actions of his manager may have been reflecting the possibility that the club isn't just going to fling open the door, roll out the red carpet and start writing cheques. Fascinating stuff. Misson, Roos etc are driving this train. I don't think we have been blindsided at all.

It's the reaction to posters treating the post as gospel, not the post.

If he did meet with Paul Roos today things may have changed. "You will return and play for the Melbourne Football Club" he says as he gives a Jedi wave.

I love you, I just can't be with you anymore.

We are all extremely disappointed at Mitch Clark's apparent departure. Sure he has had his battles both mental and physical, but he would have singlehandedly lead us to our next three flags. He would be an excellent pick up for any club needing a power forward in a flag window. Could command a high price.

I think that is a very good hypothesis. It would explain a lot. The mass outrage is unnecessary. The fact that he is coming back at all gives us a bonus that we didn't expect. Somehow the shrewd managers of the club will be trying to turn this into a win.

If I was recruiting/list managing for the Saints it would make no difference to my plans.
-
As others have alluded to it may be that the club has considered all of the risk factors in Mitch's comeback and have made a pragmatic list management decision.
-
If he plays for another club there seems to be an assumption that it would be by his design. I wouldn't assume anything.

His cricket career is over, International rookie chance?

Ffs. He uses self deprecating humour with his gay mates. Is he not able to say that? -
What's 1 draft pick we have nailed in the past 10 years?

Dean Kent at 48 is a nice pick. -

Hilarious thread. You would reckon we were looking at Isaac Weetra's worse cousin. It may or may not work but he can play footy and is a real need. That it is being given consideration is an insight into the thinking of Roos. "Must improve list." -

Probably the line breaking half back we need. Maybe Roosy can help align his spirit. -

Never heard of him -
Thanks mate With a bit of luck the young bloke will get a run with a TAC cup u15 squad.

With Robinson, I would expect him to go through the Roos doodlehead screening program and if he passed he would be a decent pick up. The contract could have a couple of of doodlehead clauses. Have it set out up by a lawyer with doodlehead expertise.

Dumb, not hangable, we move on.

With the list we have it's a C. As others have stated in relation to the rest of the comp it is an F. We are just nowhere near good enough with too many players failing to achieve average standards. We need to be built...again. EDIT: re-reading the criteria it is an E, it can never be an F.

Biggest individual MFC success story of 2014

Jason Taylor? -
Our success cycle was ridden on a path covered with tacks after which it fell down a 50 foot embankment and on to a truck route where it was pulverised by B doubles until Peter Jackson stopped to collect it. He gave it to Paul Roos to see if there were any parts worth salvaging.

Today I was lucky enough to be a part of my first ever footy premiership as coach of my son's u14 team. He also took out best player on the day and won the club b and f. An amazing day that I will remember forever. Thanks for listening.
