  1. Happy to know that once a player joins MFC he automatically loses his DH status.
  2. Absolutely agree with that and it's why I like the look of Mitchell. The only player out of the midfield category we need is an additional key position player to replace Mitch Clark but the emphasis will once again be strongly on the midfield.
  3. Don't we need players who can get the footy? Given that we know he can get his hands on the ball, surely the big question is can he stay healthy and what's his disposal and decision making like?
  4. If you've created a board dedicated to trade and draft discussion elsewhere then why are we discussing trade and drafts here?
  5. I notice Lovett wasn't named in the best players. Did he play?
  6. Fact of the matter is that we have no idea what drugs these players took but we do know they signed waiver forms that mentioned a specific set of substances, some of them prohibited and others authorised for use. The concoction includes human growth hormones. It's been explained to me that the programme was designed to aid and fast track the healing capacity, recovery and development of players. This means that in the case of younger players it would have effectively fast tracked their physical development to a greater extent than the normal and natural methods applied at football clubs. On that basis, they were and will always remain cheats.
  7. You may or may not be right there but I like the concept. Here's hoping the Scorpions manage to pluck a player or two out of obscurity from this squad and better still, find a smokey for the Dees one day. Here's what it's about - From Casey to Fremantle, Scorpions new academy a testament to trailblazer Alex Silvagni
  8. Just went past Goschs Paddock on my way to town and there seems to be some sort of training session going on. Checked the club site and it confirms there is a session today and on Wednesday at 9.30am.
  9. True and you can add that when the full back is kicking out after a behind you should expect him to be kicking to the same spot every time and if it's being constantly intercepted then try something different.
  10. Mate went to the Saints intraclub yesterday and it's amazing how similar his view of proceedings was to many of the ones we hear about the Melbourne session. Promising young blokes. Players missing through injury. Scrappy footy. Rusty players. Some with poor disposal etc. On top of that he wasn't happy with the venue at Seaford. No amenities, seating or shade in the heat. Parking impossible. The local bowls club charged $4 for parking and traffic a shambles on the way out. I joked with him that it was all Cameron Schwab's fault. He's worried about the season ahead and even round 1 although he's usually pretty gung-ho.
  11. AOD9604 is banned in every form whether injected or applied as part of a compound cream. The fact that it is available commercially or by prescription does not help you if it's on the prohibited substance list unless a specific written exemption has been issued by the TGA. St. Kilda's Ahmed Saad has been banned for taking a commercially available supplement because one of its ingredients are banned if you have it in your system on match days.
  12. I'd love to captain the Dees: Jones I reckon the gig is his for the taking.
  13. I think some might be surprised by Pedo. I'm told he's doing well at training and is thriving under the new coach (not suggesting he's training the house down though).
  14. There's two sides to this story - Davies' banned substance linked to four other doping bans
  15. What's Vince done to raise himself from "bit of a lad" to the status of a problem child who got kicked out of his club?
  16. I think that these young players now have a fantastic opportunity to grow and develop as footballers over the next 2 - 3 years under Roos. Can't wait to see these guys in their prime.
  17. It wasn't the tanking saga that got rid of people. It was our team's performances in those first few games.
  18. You have the minutes of the meeting when the Board undertook exactly what course of action?
  19. I'll tell you what's scary (and apologies for being off topic). G. Ablett has 27 possessions against Collingwood and it's only half time. How are we going to stop him at the Gabba in a few weeks time?
  20. I confess that I struggle to get my head around a former coach and FD Head transpiring to do anything let alone get a PP. Is it a new version of a transpiracy theory or something like that?
