  1. I think CAC and BBBP have just made plans to leave town.
  2. Thanks for your hard work and comprehensive report KC. The local paper has this report on the game - Scorpions' skipper's back with a blast. And this is good news - Brett Lovett did "confirm highly rated youngster Jack Viney will return after serving a one-week suspension. 'The finals exposure will give him some experience for next year.'"
  3. Fair go. The kid's been really good this year apart from a few down days in the middle of the season. If we give up on young blokes like hime, Cook and even Gysberts it suggests to me that the football department have little faith in their own ability to develop players.
  4. I don't think he is saying that at all but if the inquiry results in a decision against Melbourne then all lowly clubs will need to get that sort of permission to make changes.
  5. Shocking week for players failing their tests - four of them flopped miserably: • Stef Martin (foot) • Daniel Nicholson (jaw) • Ricky Petterd (hamstring) and • Jack Watts (ankle)
  6. Big week for mystery injuries of the week ended up destroying both Melbourne and Casey's chances!
  7. People have mentioned statistics from the game but is there a link to their source?
  8. Just exactly how many days are there to go until the draft?
  9. Is Haddin the best wicketkeeper in the country ATM?
  10. Agree the trackie top's gotten a bit stale. The emblem's fine.
  11. A touch of class from Juice on twitter - "I would like to thank everyone at the @melbournefc for the support & opportunity to play for such a great club. Good luck boys in 2012"
  12. I consider myself a reasonably influential Melbourne supporter. Tomorrow, at Moonee Valley, I'm going to approach Black Caviar to see if there's any interest. If she doesn't say "neigh", then I'll take it she's in the running for a spot on the board and I'll give the tip to Denham or Patrick Smith - anyone but Sportnewsfirst. It should be all over SEN next week.
  13. So Scully signs up with GWS in the end. I'm shocked.
  14. The eleigibility rules don't apply when your AFL team is involved on the same weekend so it would be wise to have only one emergency and give Casey as much chance as possible of winning. While VFL finals don't mean a great deal to the ordinary punter, we are in an alignment with Casey Scorpions and the benefits have to be weighed up as mutual. Our players can gain something out of the experience of playing in a finals series and hopefully winning a premiership. I wouldn't underestimate this as a benefit to young players.
  15. Someone commented that Neville Jetta was played in the middle but I didn't see him there very often. Does anyone know where he was actually played - half forward?
  16. Fairly obvious, isn't it? A philosophy of developing youth from the ground up and not going for 31 year olds who won't play a part inside the club's premiership window.
  17. I generally don't believe in the idea of boycotts but if Scully goes there I would make an exception for GWS. I usually make at least one trip interstate every year but I will give that game a miss and watch on television.
  18. And what a test it's going to be on Friday night. The challenge of beating the Bulldogs at Etihad where we haven't won since before Bails became the coach.
  19. Over at the new GWS supporter site GIANTOLOGY, they reckon the Scully story was a ruse - NO FELAFEL FOR TOM SCULLY
  20. The problem I have with Hansen (apart from his body and the lack of any exposed form for 3 - 4 years) is the question of how many KPF's can you fit into one club? With so many eggs in the same basket he might be hindering the development of some of the young blokes by keeping them in the Casey twos.
  21. Any chance of keeping Bruce on the banner but wearing a Hawthorn jumper and being gang tackled by three or four of our young guns?
