Frawley had a great game. But I support the Dees. That he's moved on, and is presumably very happy is irrelevant to me. Good luck to him. My interest/affection resides with other players (all of whom so happen to be at the MFC).

It seems it has hit the media yesterday and today. The reports that I've read seem not to disclose everything yet. Suspect the way this pans out will significantly impact/influence the way Sydney approaches all trades this year.
-
I have absolutely nothing to go on but I reckon the player we're really targeting is Josh Kennedy. He just ticks the boxes. The curve ball that I've heard is that Franklin is highly unlikely to be playing next year. For any club. Not sure when this will hit the media. Also not sure what impact this will have on the Swans' cap.

Sweet negotiating by his manager.
-
So he's been bidding against himself? Originally wanted $650k pa. He's now down to $470k.
-
Apologies for not being up to date with the 55 pages of narrative - but who exactly has offered him $1.4 over 3 years? Us or some other club?

If we managed to land Prestia and Parker this trade period, anything less than a top 8 finish next year would be a fail.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN KENNEDY
Ron Burgundy replied to MadAsHell's topic in Melbourne Demons
I agree. We need to improve the list, which means recruiting the likes of Melksham and Kennedy without giving away players that are currently in our best 25 or so. Not every recruit will be a 'big fish', but it'd be great to land a couple this draft period: Prestia, O'Meara and/or J Kennedy. -
The things I know are that: 1. the club is very professional now and has a very capable recruiting team; 2. Paul Roos has repeatedly said that we need more midfield depth and class - established player/s, not just juniors with potential; 3. several MFC people (including Roos) have stated that we will be very active in this year's trade period; and 4. Howe, Garland, Toumpas have not yet re-signed. Seems absolutely clear that the club would have identified certain established players to target during this trade period - but, given the new era of professionalism, that doesn't translate into us finding out who they are here on Demonland prior to anything being announced.

Got. To. Be. BS.

Unmitigated disaster yet still has fans. That doesn't make sense.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN KENNEDY

Ironic if Toumpas and Wines find themselves in the same team: Port Adelaide, not the MFC. -
Perhaps they're all going to the Crows?

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM

Very happy to recruit Ziebell as well. -
Yep - it'd simply be really good news for this club to lose McCartney right now. Have no issue with any of the delisting to date this year. Was very disappointed Cross didn't get another year. Still am.

Delistings/trades at end of the season
Ron Burgundy replied to Northern Summer's topic in Melbourne Demons
Need to be a very good runner these days too. No engine = no future. -
Surely it's abundantly clear that Dangerfield is determined to get to Geelong.
-
I'd be super disappointed if we were to lose McCartney.
-
If he's not a total fool, $10m over 6 years at the Dees (where he'll be a leader at an old school club starved of success which has a talented young list where he will be a legend) should be quite compelling. Also - he can be partners in crime with our favourite son, Bernie. Surely he shouldn't immediately dismiss it. But, then again, perhaps he's not that clever.
-
I don't believe you.
-
Happy about this.

It's not beyond someone here to start that rumour if you'd like to read about it for the next 80 pages or so ...
-
"Thanks for the memories babe. You've ruined my life."
-
Absolutely agree. Plus a Redden, Melksham, Bastinac or Moore (from Port).
