  1. He won't be a spud for us though. I'm predicting a bloody good season for him.
  2. Flashback: Epic Semi-Final 2002 - YouTube https://www.youtube.com › watch › v... Can't get the full URL but geez this was a good game. Think I shed a tear after it. Peter Vardy - how good was he in 2002.
  3. What a great post. As an aside, I think one of the most memorable performances I have ever seen by a Demon - and for two quarters, it was superstar-esque, was Travis Johnstone in the second and third quarters in the semi final against the Crows in 2002. His performance in that game was genuinely ridiculous. Come to think of it, Goodwin would've played in that game.
  4. All of whom left for better opportunities/a fresh start. Not every player leaves a club for money or the chance to play finals. Plenty of elements need to fall into line for a player to be a long term, one club player these days, even if their desire/intention is only ever to be a long term, one club player. I still think most players wish to have a long term, successful career with the club at which they're initially drafted.
  5. I agree. Although all clubs have many super loyal players on their lists respectively. That not all players are super loyal (and have different drivers/priorities) doesn't mean loyalty is dead. I reckon Nathan Jones is pretty happy to be a Demon. For life.
  6. Nothing story. It's absolutely obvious he is a big part of Port's future, they'd have planned for it and he wishes to stay there.
  7. No hate from me. I rate the bloke - on and off the field. He'll prove many of the haters wrong in 2016.
  8. I rate Michie. He showed some really promising signs towards the end of the season. Was actually surprised they knocked him off the main list. Glad we were able to rookie list him though.
  9. Viney would've been a first rounder despite (technically) being a second round father son pick.
  10. Vince and vandenBerg aside, all first rounders. It's only fitness holding Trengove back. Some people seem to have forgotten that he was a bloody good footballer, a natural fooballer too.
  11. The one thing this last trade and draft period confirmed is that this club is no longer amateur and ad hoc in its decision making. It is super deliberate and has a clear strategy that it now actually seems able to execute. If we are still after Prestia, and if we have been for quite some time, I expect the club has devised a plan/proposal to attempt to secure him. If not, perhaps we have not been that into him (too exy in terms of cash or draft picks etc), despite the media reports.
  12. If Hogan kicks 100, we're absolutely playing finals football next year. Not sure if Pendles has really thought this through - unless, of course, he was also saying Melbourne, as a club, is the big mover next year and it's finals bound. I'd like to see Jeffy G kick 50 next year. And I reckon if he can kick straight, he will.
  13. I have always been super happy with this trade. And, unlike many here, I thought the deal was really good from our perspective - not overs at all. Having just watched the interview again confirmed to me that we got a good deal here. Looks to be a good cultural fit - and his highlights package is great viewing. Loved his feedback on Goodwin too.
  14. Roos and Jackson could very well go down as the two most important figures that this club has had in the last 50 years.
  15. I reckon Kennedy and Melksham (in particular) are going to prove to be bloody good pick ups.
  16. Okay. I get it. I look forward to having you change your sign off by the end of next season. It will be good. And I welcome any suggestions.
  17. I should perhaps also note that, when we win this bet, I'll be disappointed if you take a 2 month sabbatical. You're a quality poster and I enjoy reading (most of) what you post. Net loss if you take a holiday because you've got it wrong on Watts.
  18. Nope. I don't do that self imposed ban stuff. Seems stupid. I will however submit to you fricking around with my avatar or sign off as you see fit.
  19. Do we have another vandenBerg rookie NEAFL smokey on our hands here?
  20. I note that this is binman's wager so it's possible that it's not workable three ways (unless ProDee accepts the bet and binman and I then agree upon an appropriate avatar for ProDee once Watts plays his 11th game in the seniors next year). If that's not acceptable to binman and ProDee, I'll simply register my support for binman in relation to this bet.
  21. It seems I've misread this. Just to clarify - I am backing Watts to play more than 10 games for the MFC in the season proper next year. As are you. Accordingly, it seems the bet is you (binman) and me v. ProDee. Avatars to be selected by the winner for a 2 month period following the season. Happy to field suggestions for ProDee's temporary avatar now.
