    He has already entered.

But the intel seems to suggest we want to trade up. From the little I know of the draftees, I would be happy with Curtin if we kept 6.
  3. That's what I was saying, in answer to a post saying we needed mids.

Interestingly, someone posted that we haven't spoken to Reid. I can think of 3 reasons why. First, if we got pick 1 we would take him regardless. Second, we don't think we will get pick 1. Third, we actually prefer someone else and that may allow us to have another pretty good pick as well.
  5. I see Tomo, BBB, Tom Mac and Melk as the obvious delists next year at this stage. So I don't think Tomo will be around in 25. If Laurie fails to have an impact in 24 he will be another.

Isn't that one of the favourite tracks in your s & m dungeon at the manor?
  7. Ollie Murphy is being tipped by Twomey to go around 20. If we trade up and get a pick back, it should get him if we want him. Also Turner x 2 and Adams are our depth at the moment for key backs, and if we take one this draft and again next year, or a FA, or trade one in, that should cover us.

Obviously Devo can still whip it together.

Tough times ahead and wish you all the best. Speaking of Mick Jagger, anyone who says Paul MacCartney can still sing is only looking not listening. His Adelaide shows are on you tube and he has lost his great voice, which is natural in your 80’s. Think he should have called it a day. He doesn’t need the money and better to remember stars at their best.

Next week hopefully in the Cox Plate.

Just came home from the new Training ground. There were a lot of people there, including Eddie.

Well looks like another very quiet off season.

That's sort of my suggestion, but I would hope we would get one of 15, 17 or 18 back, not 23.

You are probably correct. North can also throw a late first rounder to WC as spice. However for us, if we are after Duursma, he could cost us a Sanders/Curtin and a O'Sullivan/Caddy/etc. That is a huge price to pay for one kid who is a flanker essentially. I would be happy keeping our picks and maybe trying to move our second pick up slightly, or if we did the above deal, to get Duursma, giving 42 as well and getting a late first back from North and maybe getting someone like Ollie Murphy as a key back. We may not have access to these high picks for a while, unless Petty leaves, so I hope if we are chasing Duursma, he is worth it.

The AFL has engineered it, with free picks flying to Arden street.

Or pick 3 and a lower first rounder.

Fair enough. So we are possibly either trading up for one high pick and maybe Brown later, or if we can't trade up, use both high picks and maybe Brown as a rookie. Unless he forgot about Brown, or we are not taking him, which I don't think is the case.

Did Lamb say that? I thought we would use 6 and 11 and K. Brown F/S with our last.

I can't argue, because I haven't seen enough of him. I don't agree however that we have enough depth in the key backs, as May is nearing the end, Tomlinson will go next year, Adams is not a certainty to make AFL standard and that leaves us only Turner at 193 cms, not the biggest of key defenders to play on the Lynch, Hawkins types. Petty who is now a forward, could also be gone next year. If we take a young key defender in the draft that would be good, but he may need a couple of years to be ready for the AFL.

    K. Turner played 6 games for Casey and is 6 years younger than Declase was. Not sure how many games Declase played for Casey. With issues with Joel Smith that might help him.

O'Sullivan will be gone by 11.

    Great film Jack.
  23. Redleg replied to WERRIDEE's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Why would we delist him, when he has been injured most of the season and hasn’t had the chance to show us his ability.
  24. Redleg replied to Random Task's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
They could turn 1 into Curtin and 2 more high pick players, so that’s not bad and added a ruckman to replace the non playing Nic Nat and a talented forward in Brockman. That’s a good start.

If the player you get is a Bont, Selwood, Dusty type, who stays fit most of the time, it is understandable. My fear is that with all the eggs in one basket, if he is injury prone, or not as good as hoped, you have sacrificed so much. Anyway, as we say on here, in JT we trust.
