  1. We ran them to 2 points with half a side and sick players playing. He saw that up close.
  2. Not that he is leaving, but that deal would get us Reid for the 2 pick 1’s, as we were close when he was drafted and that is much much better and Balta thrown in.
  3. Given Goody’s comments he has to play this week or next.
  4. Now that we know that Clarry as well as his hand issues, had PCL issues and also cracked ribs, we can ask that smart ars. commentator in the Port game, who said he went down too easily when hit in the ribs, to apologise. Won’t hold my breath.
  5. 4 weeks.
  6. You know who you will hear from!
  7. Dad helping his son get a longer contract at Dees, methinks.
  8. Doesn’t he always?
  9. But we are falling apart. We lost to the team that beat Sydney by 19 goals a week earlier by 2 points, with several sick players playing and several others not playing, either sick or injured, while our opponent, was virtually at full strength and fighting for top 4. Yep, we are finished.
  10. Thats true. I actually live about 500m from each of my kids and their families and it made helping, babysitting, school pick ups etc very easy. I fully understand and accept Nibbler’s trade request. Perhaps being replaced by Houston will make it less upsetting for Dees fans. The club has also signalled the need to change and improve if we are to win a flag again.
  11. Not sure what you want me to say, so as usual I will just be honest. A good clubman, a very nice guy, extremely fit, who tried his heart out and improved over the years, giving everything, but who still can turn it over at inopportune times. Disappointing, but I accept his reason and wish him and his family well. Interestingly he hasn’t named a club, unlike an earlier traded player, who insisted on one club limiting our trade potential.
  12. Understand that JNM, but Meek was traded the next year so he was gettable at some stage and he also went to a club with a huge young ruckman, so Max wouldn’t have put him off possibly and we might have then saved the embarrassing Grundy fallout. I would love to know if we rated either player and if we even asked. My gut feel is we didn’t rate either of them and that if true worries me considering our last few trades. I am wrapt in Caleb and was since his first practice match but i was talking if a player in addition to the picks we got. We could have said we would deal with WC to get the deal done, but i know, spilt milk. It just annoys me when I see the players traded into other clubs succeeding. GuessIi am just a cranky old Dees fan.
  13. Disagree in one respect, we could have bargained harder. If you go back to the thread at the time I was adamant we should get Treacy or at least Meek, who were both in the WAFL at the time and struggling, thrown into the deal. That would have made losing LJ a lot easier to take.
  14. There is a difference when you look at who is injured. Trac is a worse loss than some VFL player.
  15. Curnow could be out with an ankle injury.
  16. Undermanned, with sick players pulling out and others still playing, against a side with one regular out, who were playing for top 4 and who beat the top team by 19 goals the week before. We lost by a kick. That is a fantastic effort.
  17. Oliver was pretty sick and others too, so even better effort.
  18. Fumbling cost us the game. Constant fumbling. Great effort with an undermanned side, but the lack of ball handling skill kills us.
  19. I hope we aren’t that dumb.
  20. Sorry to disagree and have a different opinion and I won’t LOL at yours btw. Brayshaw getting taken out rattled our side and we got jumped. We then used our sub Lawrie, taking away the fresh legs later in the game and who was totally ineffective. I believe Gus, who was a far better player, I think averaging over 30 possessions at the time, would have helped us breach the 7 point loss difference, as I recall it was. I also feel some players lost focus after the Gus ko, like JVR, who got suspended for trying to even up, or whatever he was doing. Imo if JVR or Gus played against the blues, we reverse that one point loss and make the PF, either by beating the Pies or later the Blues. You are welcoming to disagree, no one can prove who is correct anyway. It’s just an opinion.
  21. Well imo we were certainly a Gus away from a GF. Gus doesn’t get ko’d and we are in the PF and JVR probably doesn’t try to even up, getting suspended and is playing.
  22. Strange then that the Swans have at least 10 more frees at this point in the game.
  23. I thought there was a rule that only the Captain could speak to the umpire and at a break. Pendles always does it and is at it again with umpire 22 Williamson, who is standing there talking to him. Why is this constantly allowed to happen?
