  1. This is not a good sign for Fullarton. We had our tallest forward out injured and the FD went instead with a 186cm forward, back after nearly a year out injured, without a Casey game, in preference to Fullarton, who is about 200cms and was traded in as a back up ruck/forward. Playing Fullarton would have allowed JVR to play solely forward and that would have been helpful to his game imo. There is no doubt that Melk is a better player than Fullarton, but we obviously didn’t go horses for courses. I am not arguing about the selection, but rather pointing out that Fullarton will struggle to get a game while Max is playing.

You really do deserve praise for your commitment to the club and the players. Very few attend as much as you do and imo it gives you every right to voice your opinions on all things to do with the club and maintain your strong defence of everything MFC. You go girl.
  3. With a 2 day less break as well.
  4. 2 of the oldest players in the AFL in top 3 for possessions for Pies with Daicos at 3/4 time.
  5. He will stay with Saints.
  6. Cripps is 195 cms which is nearly 6 foot 5 inches.
  7. Just for the record I am not advocating for Sheldrick or Robertson particularly, but rather players who could help us that aren’t getting a game regularly because of star studded midfields.
  8. I am a fan of Jeffo and have stuck fat. The decisions for the FD are probably is there a spot atm, is he ready to go at senior level, would a poor debut hurt him mentally and set him back and is he better than others available, or more deserving of an opportunity. Fullarton played in a final against us, plus other senior games, did ok and yet hasn’t got a game with us yet. Maybe this week will be his first. I am sure we have spoken to Jeffo about his progress many times and hopefully he is on board. Maybe he gets a game later or maybe another pre season is needed. Whatever, I am hopeful he will make it and when he comes in, he stays in, rather than being not ready and disappointing and setting him back.
  9. Nailed it. Mine is GC.
  10. While Sheldrick and Robertson might be a bit small, they are talented. Sometimes these sort of players are good gets, as they are just being kept out of their senior sides by exceptional players who are ungettable anyway and these guys can be just a little, or more perhaps, behind the stars. There is no doubt the Swans and Lions midfields are excellent. These sorts of guys often have a bit to prove and can be very good players for another club. They would not be expensive trades either. We certainly need a few more mids, that is fact. A back up ruck is another need. If Petty stays, I think we will be ok for key position players, as he can return to the backline when May finishes and we have upcoming key forwards and backs and can get more over the journey.
  11. Think he has one more year in contract and is best mates with Blake Howes. Just saying.
  12. Heard you graduated from the Dale Carnegie college recently Uncle.
  13. Very philosophical layzie.
  14. Leave Rivers goal or pay Max his mark and it would have been.
  15. King is staying with the Saints and they are working on a new contract.
  16. Your key words were "to some extent." How many African kids play for the Dees? Maybe the extent is nil, certainly it is that atm.
  17. What does with what they do?
  18. Any more Reid money will be 2 years off and others will be leaving and they could front end Waterman a bit. He won't leave, Eagles will get the deal done.
  19. AFL new rule, anyone whose last name starts with YZ can’t go father/son.
  20. Now bring up the fact; that because of Maynard’s staging, the MRO has sanctioned a player and that player fooled the umpire into awarding a free kick. Interesting to note that the AFL media shut down the staging story completely and not one of the weekend or Monday shows mentioned it. One guy, for a lesser stage of just putting his hand to his head, gets humiliated, vilified and called a cheat over and over again on every media outlet and the other guy, once again, just walks away and gets on with his life.
  21. Tom Morris on 9 News.
  22. AFL looking at giving the Roos the whole of NT as their recruiting area. After being the Alice Springs club, that could be wasted now.
  23. I think we are generally in agreement. A big club player gets off scott free, while a smaller club player, for a similar act, gets vilified and humiliated by the media for days and then fined by the MRO. The MRO is of course a former player of the same club as the player he let off and let off by him not for the first time. We all agree with that.
  24. The rules were changed after that incident. We are comparing May to Maynard which was worse and more acting over May just putting hands on head for a second. Maynard stayed down holding his head. It got a player sanctioned and drew an unwarranted free. May is sanctioned, humiliated by the media and called a cheat by a senior journalist. Maynard cops nothing from the MRO or the media and is home laughing again.
