  1. Why are we all upset? He only hit 3 Dees players and we know he is clumsy. TBH it is easy to mistake a bald head for a footy, even though it is attached to a neck and has ears sticking out the sides. Clayton’s jaw does look like a footy and his ribs are a good spot to rest your knees when you crash into him. It is not like Mumford is a co - ordinated athlete who is supposed to go after the footy. Probably doesn’t happen if one of our clumsy players of the past like Grinter, Biffen or Big Carl we’re playing. All we can do to retaliate these days is to swing tackle, oh wait a minute.
  2. This is exactly what I posted previously. Punch a bloke in the head, but don’t concuss him or break his jaw and you can get off with a fine. Tackle a bloke and cause a concussion and you get 4 weeks, if you are a no name player. That is a joke.
  3. Free was given for holding the man, with resultant goal to GWS. Melbourne player said after he never grabbed him and replay showed he didn’t. Umpire said” I thought “ you grabbed him. Since when are free paid for thinking something happened rather than seeing it actually happen?

This type of play would make us a more dangerous side and increase scoring opportunities, but for some unknown reason it is not in our play book.

That is a definite area that needs work. Why do we not use empty ground space up the corridor or on the other side to Gawn. I don’t think Gawn took one mark from the kickoff last night and it did lead to repeat opposition entries.
  6. I recall being in Palm Cove when we drafted Rivers and I started yelling in excitement, as he was the one I wanted for our last pick. People were staring at me. I think I then asked you if you knew much about him as a kid, not about his footy. I said at the time that he could be the best of the 3 we got and pushed him on DL from that moment on. Yes he could be the best of the 3 and I am thrilled for him and the great game he played tonight. Pickett played his best game for us too and could have kicked 4.
  7. His best game for us and hopefully a game to build his footy career from. That should give him some confidence.
  8. Viney 8 possies all holding the ball or turnovers.
  9. I thought I might know who you are, but obviously I don’t.
  10. Wise did you play in the DL side I coached?
  11. Can we take bets on when the first “ sack Goodwin post will come “. TBH looking at our side I just can’t see how we can win this. It is a very ordinary side, at least on paper.
  12. It may not matter to us.
  13. Given that 8 changes bring in fresh legs and 6 better players than have gone out, it is not chaos for them, but in fact an improvement. If the game was decided on paper we would be looking at a 10 goal loss at a minimum. Sydney and Freo beat us by effort and constant pressure and I watched the Tigers last night and they are the masters at it. You don’t get an easy possession against them. I saw at one stage 4 players running from hbf with the ball carrying it and sharing it to hff with a single Cat trying to stop them. It went to Reiwoldt for another goal. They play brilliant selfless team pressure footy. We played that way briefly late 2018. That is the model to copy. Do that and we could even beat this GWS team, with our 50% VFL standard side. Do the same as Cairns and we get smashed. The Coach and leaders drive that.
  14. If Lockhart is fit, how does he not get in ahead of ANB, Spargo, Jetta, Baker, Smith, Pickett and Hunt, who is a bit different and I do like.
  15. I just look at the selected side and it appears to be chock full of VFL standard players. I think many have overrated our list.
  16. Not as well.
  17. Yes there is there is the boot studded or the drink girl, I would prefer either.
  18. That is not quite right, but I know what you mean.
  19. IMO Caro has disliked our club for years and has often written damaging articles aimed at hurting the club.
  20. I can understand that.
  21. I am not a Goodwin fan, but if you think having the worst fixture has no effect, you are kidding yourself.
  22. Pretty tough to sack a Coach with 2 years left on a contract, after the most crazy season in AFL/VFL history and where his club was given the worst fixture in the Competition.
  23. Yes Wise, it’s a bit of the each way argument. Wouldn’t like to lose him, but if he wanted to go and we benefited , I would be ok with it. He is harder than anyone at the contest, but unfortunately is not a good user of the footy, very often to our detriment. I also have the feeling he has a smashed up body and that he may be past his best. If he stays great and I hope his style is modified, in that he disposes at first option, instead of trying to break tackles and reach the touch line.
