  1. Well for what it is worth, I really like Petty and think he will be very good for us. He is big and a great mark and just needs to improve his set shot kicking. I was desperate to get Rivers with our last pick and that is looking ok atm. The other kid I have been a big wrap on since we got him is Jordon and I am following his progress with great interest.
  2. JeremyFinlayson Redleg posted a topic in Melbourne Demons This bloke was gettable last trade period and I was pushing him hard on DL, with not a lot of support from other posters. Given our current position with key forwards and his form, he would have been invaluable. GWS was looking to make salary cap room and he would not have cost a lot in s... May 27, 2019 49 replies JeremyFinlayson Redleg posted a topic in Melbourne Demons 196 cm key back at the Giants is apparently available, though contracted until 2020. He has pace, good disposal skills and can take a grab. He could play back or forward and gives us further options. He would be far cheaper than May and is 4-5 years younger. IMO should be looked... 3. I see that we haven't been put back on the footy board, even though we are the most popular footy thread ever on DL.
  4. Then Gary misses from 15 out directly in front.
  5. The payoff could be several clubs being sent to WA hubs and we are not included. IMO to be fair, the Bomber players not allowed to play against Carlton, should also be excluded from our postponed game against the Bombers, with the AFL then ensuring a fair break between games and the same break for us and our opponents in the game following the postponed Bombers game. Hard to then argue we are being dealt with unfairly.
  6. Wise, some on here, as RJay has posted, think players are Robots, devoid of any emotion and should just play to their optimum every game,no matter what. Of course that is crap. There could be a million different things that can affect sporting performances. It is not to be used as an excuse of course, but a reason or explanation.
  7. In its current format, our game today. It will be replaced in a timeslot that impacts us both for that game and the following one, you can be sure. Also the team make up will be different and again I am sure we won't get the benefit of a depleted Bombers side like Carlton and other teams might. I am not whingeing, merely stating that this is such a compromised season as to be treated differently in the AFL records. If people disagree that is their right and if they say we just follow the rules, then what would they say if the season was abandoned next week and the AFL said that the team on top of the ladder is the Premier.
  8. You might like the new AFL rule brought in today then. If any team in the GF is outed due to virus positive tests, then the team in the AFL that has never played in a GF will play the remaining team and will be given a 12 goal start, to even up for the fact that they had to fly in from the GC. Sounds a fair rule to me.
  9. Not like this one is turning out to be.
  10. He has already arranged for a "stacked vote" on the issue.
  11. IMO, because of the way this season has and is unfolding, no Premiership Flag should be awarded. Teams that should have had softer draws have lost them. Games have been abandoned. Some matches are suggested to be against depleted sides. Teams being forced to play extra games during the week, affecting those games and the following ones. This is a joke of a football season, that of course is out of the AFL's control, as they just need the money for games on TV. So no flag to the winner, unless of course it is Melbourne and then it should count as three Premiership Flags because of the difficulties we faced.
  12. One of my favourite posts ever on DL. I loved that show as a kid. I have the DVD's of every episode.
  13. No he wasn’t at the club this morning.
  14. Was always going to happen and it won’t be the last incident. This season might struggle to get to a finale. Everyone stay safe.
  15. Agree. Someone pointed out we have 2 second gamers in the side and 3 who haven’t played much footy in last couple of years. I wonder if that is a concern.
  16. With Langford and Stringer on the bench, it is a bit taller than ours, but yes I see your point. Looking like Smith might play forward at some stage for us then.
  17. Didn't know that.
  18. Mama Told me not to Come, was Three Dog Night.
  19. Yes he could be the other one.
  20. Yes of course.
  21. So Tom Mac is only chop out for Gawn and need him as only key forward as well, who BTW is totally out of form. I find the team selection bewildering. We have a stack of half forwards though, bewildering.
  22. That is becoming a major problem. Have you noticed that most Coaches have a headset or telephone to use during the game. You never see Goodwin with either. Maybe I am nitpicking, but we do seem to have a record of run ons against us, where we apparently do nothing to stop them, unless the line coaches of which there are now fewer, make the calls.
  23. 1ml predicted Sunday and possible shower. That is hardly wet conditions.
  24. They are saving him for the Cats at the G next week to reprise his 2018 final against them,
