Correct. Most would agree Geelong is a well run club. Well clearly they aren't, because Matt Egan's career was cut short by injury. Essendon has just stuffed Daniher. Sydney has stuffed Buddy. Freo has stuffed Jesse. The Pies stuffed Daniel Wells, Dunn and Goldsack. Unless you can show that a club actually injured a player or made his injury worse and then career threatening, it is a bit rich to blame the club. So I agree with you Ernie.

We were given a PP or 2. That is nothing like what GWS got. They got given the tools for a Flag. It may eventuate on saturday.

But look at the list they were gifted. They were created to be successful quickly, not like the rest of us who developed slowly. They were given so many top players, that as they traded the surplus, they got more high picks to pick the best again in the next seasons. They were always going to succeed.

I still think he will stay at the Pies. They will retire or delist someone else, to make more room.

Maybe they are the Tassie Devils in waiting.

    $
  7. Bedford is a kid playing his first year of senior footy. He needs some time, before we write him off. Chandler was not disgraced in his AFL debut. Might not make it, but will get another year to show his wares. Spargo might be a mid but he clearly suffered the 2nd year blues. Next year will be a big one for him, to see whether he cements a place on the list.
  8. Don't think his Manager was in the team meeting.

It certainly is a bargaining tool, to use against the negotiating tool at the Dockers.

Interesting that the Hawks have Breust and Wingard who are HFF's and that bloke from GWS also plays there occasionally, as well as Worpel, Shiels, Harrison, Hendersen and a couple of others. Maybe we are not putting the biggest offer on the table and that is what it is probably about.

Looks like we all agree. See post before yours 2 weeks ago.
  12. That's what I was told.
  13. I pushed Jeremy Finlayson heavily throughout the trade period last year, when rumours surfaced that he was unhappy at the Giants. I was very disappointed at the time that we didn't get him and more so this season as he blossomed. This year I like Kamdyn McIntosh of the Tigers, who may leave, especially if not selected for the GF, which is looking likely. He has height, pace, experience and especially finals experience, good disposal, can mark and kick a goal. He could be handy off a HBF, HFF or wing and wouldn't be expensive. I think Jetta and Hibberd are nearing the end of their careers and he could be a handy player for us.
  14. PSD gets him for nothing.
  15. Is Jamaine Jones of the Cats any good? Has just been delisted. They have a lot of small forwards and clearly don't need him. Is he better than what we have? He would come free of trading.

Perhaps then we could ask some kids from the local kinder to do our recruiting.
  17. But as someone posted it can stay in system for up to a month. Therefore when he tampered with the sample he may have used it a few days before and he was concerned. Then second test a couple of weeks later may still show traces.

And I could suggest a few patients they could try brain surgery on.

Thatโ€™s a big call. You are saying that amateurs on DL, would not do a better job than fully paid, resourced, recruiting teams, who spend ALL their working life, for up to two years at a time, studying and assessing young footballers as to their possible future ability in the AFL. Let me go out on a limb like you just did. I say that most posters on DL, could not do brain surgery, as well as Australiaโ€™s leading Neurosurgeons.
  20. I know we wonโ€™t get anything, but we are actually losing something, that without AFL interference we would most likely have, Noah Anderson. PS. Why do GC DESERVE anything?
  21. If true, I hope that we have got something from the AFL, for our loss and it is our loss made a little less if, we trade 3 to someone. There is no doubt at all, that GC have a better list and more upside, than we did, when we were constantly refused PP's. They have a raft of young talent and if well coached, retained and developed, GC will rise up the ladder quickly, with the addition of several experienced players they apparently are securing this off season.
  22. That is just one example of a good pick, a bit later and yet 12 clubs passed on him, with a few, several times. This happens all the time. Gawn was 34, Grundy 19, Tim Kelly overlooked for 5 drafts, Darling 26, Hird in the 80's, etc etc etc. That will always happen. It is more about nailing early picks. that should nearly be a given with all the time and money invested in following players for up to 2 years. BTW, Fyfe clearly has improved as when he was in year 11, he played in the 3rd 18, yes one of the best footballers we have seen couldn't make his year 11 top 2 footy teams. Clearly he has developed since then and that does happen.

Sorry, can I shout you a coffee?

Also interesting that if Neale stayed a Docker, Fyfe probably doesn't win. Plus, if Kelly had been traded last year, Dangerfield probably wins. A lot of luck in footy, on and off the field.
