  1. All I will say is, if he played for us, people on here would be having a fit over his retirement. He was a great player and lets not rewrite history. Our forwards will have a better chance to do well, when we play the Tigers in future.
  2. Our standards are well known. Nothing lower than the highest possible. Nothing less will be tolerated. We are the Everest of standards.
  3. Now now, remember the high standards we set on the thread.
  4. And some people have stupidly suggested closing this thread down, thereby denying us all this type of important information. To think that this thread is probably the only thread on DL, that doesn't have constant personal attacks on other posters. It is the citadel of important information circulation and polite intelligent discussion.
  5. This thread just keeps on breaking news and educating the masses.
  6. Another great report. Feel like I was there.
  7. I haven’t seen Neita in the flesh and am interested in what he did that makes you think he looks likely. Great Report.
  8. Rubbish. He was sounded out by the AFL and GWS to be their first Coach to bring a profile to the club. He moved states to do the job and was successful at starting a club in hostile territory. He is nothing like the player you mentioned as he played his entire career at one club and basically coached for his entire career at another. The GWS job came after he had retired from Coaching. Easy to rewrite history. Congrats on yet another negative post.
  9. Agree. That is my experience with him on a few occasions we have met and others who have told me the same. I was told of a story one evening when KS was out dining with his family and on leaving, passed a table of young men. He stopped and of his own volition engaged the guys about who they followed and for about 10 minutes, while his family waited had a discussion on footy. My son was one of the guys, so I know it is true. The guys were really impressed and KS apparently is known for this. Sometimes we build our dislikes of people for reasons that are not factual.
  10. I wouldn’t have thought not “officially “ being a Demon, would have stopped him from going on a 3 day camp, if he wanted to. He is officially training with us and involved in all club activity, I would imagine. Unless of course you know otherwise.
  11. He has kids and may have opted to stay home with his family. The others are likely all single.
  12. Redleg replied to IWAP's topic in Melbourne Demons
I just wonder if we have been unable to afford the costs attached to the Irish players and maybe now, have decided we are able to again to get involved.
  13. So am I . A 196cm goal kicking forward who played senior footy at a good standard this year and who has good endurance, is let go by a club with a shortage of key forwards and a main one who is injured and doesn’t want to be there. What do the Bombers know that we don’t, or was it purely a salary cap issue? On face value it is a good get for us.
  14. Data shmata. Win games, rest is fodder.
  15. You guys should all be on the No T$ No BS thread.
  16. They don’t rate character, attitude or personality I would imagine.
  17. Quite possible, as next year or two can often see teenagers develop late in height and build. I think Garry Lyon for example grew about 7-8 cms at about 18-19. A mate of mine grew 10cms in his last teenage year.
  18. You are not saying I hope OD, that you wanted to continue with Darwin are you? If nothing else and you are looking for a reason to have stopped it, just ask the players or someone in the FD. Good riddance I say.
  19. Disagree. We make the finals for example, by one game, not having lost the regular next game after Darwin and calculate the difference in revenues from finals participation, gate, sponsorship, membership, merchandise, attracting new players, which in turn increases the preceding items again. Also what if substitute game is say a home game against Bombers for example, the gate alone for that would cover the Darwin game.
  20. From the proceeds of a game in Melbourne with ticket sales, sponsorship etc and a better finish to the year increased membership etc.
  21. Not surprised.
  22. I am excited about Rivers. I had not considered him available to us with our last pick and after taking him looked at his highlights and read more about him. I know highlights are pretty useless, as even I had one or two way back when, but this kid seems to have some real attributes. He is a nice size and can go hard at the ball, then is able at least in the highlights, to give off accurately and quickly . He can cover ground with his kicking and has some pace. Have a feeling this kid could be ok for us.
  23. Will need to catch a bigger fish first.
  24. In 1857 women in Britain were first allowed to divorce their husbands. That is something to contemplate in between breakfast and ablutions.
