New Balance Re-Commits For 3 More Years
Hellaintabadplacetobe replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
There is a NB outlet on Smith Street near Alexandra Parade Fitzroy/Collingwood. They always have older heavily discounted Dees merch upstairs. Won't bother the cousins if it's old stuff! -
Free Kick Differential Since 2012
Hellaintabadplacetobe replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Wow the Dogs did get an armchair ride in their Premiership year. At least the umps appear to have eased up in the West since the media spoke about the "noise of affirmation "or whatever it was called. -
Crystal Ball 2020: Your predictions for next season
Hellaintabadplacetobe replied to P-man's topic in Melbourne Demons
- We will play finals - Tracc to be considered A Grade by all pundits. - Joel Smith to cement a spot in best 22 (assuming he is injury free) - Chunk Jones to spend more time in VFL than AFL - S. May will be top 3 most valuable/reliable player. -

Reckon he would've disposed of them not long after the drive by shooting of his home, if he hadn't already. -

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ADAM TOMLINSON
Hellaintabadplacetobe replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Always liked him as a player but I'm not sure he's exactly the type of player we are screaming out for. He is however clearly best 15 or better for us so improves our list and costs us stuff all. He's missed one game in 4 years which was the elimination Final so he's very durable. Very polished in the media, impressive young bloke -

Agree, TMac almost as baffling, I reckon he had 2 very good games, the rest were poor -

Terribly sad news. One of the great characters of the game RIP Spud. -
A very Melbourne like performance. Dominated all the vital stats like clearances, scoring shots and inside 50s and got pantsed.

Agree, it was pretty hard to get enthused by that match at all. Happy though, very rarely do I want Collingwood to win. But then I saw Eddie prancing around and felt ill.

Honestly, any reporter who thinks Spargo, Omac and even Weid are best 22 doesn't have much credibility. -
Demonland Player of the Year - Round 23
Hellaintabadplacetobe replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
That Brayshaw could finish 5th shows you just how bad we were this year. Coming off a top 3 brownlow finish his season was probably not far behind TMacs in terms of disappointment of the year . I'd be staggered if he gets 1 vote this year -
The 2019 season post mortem thread
Hellaintabadplacetobe replied to Delusional demon 82's topic in Melbourne Demons
I knew we would start the season slow due to the preseason but fully expected us to become a dominant team on way to a Grand Final berth at the very latest by midway through the year. I actually wrote our season off after our first win against Sydney. They were awful and somehow we were marginally less awful. I knew we were doomed for the year. I've been indifferent about the season and surprisingly non caring about how bad we've been up until last week against Sydney when I was ropable. The attitude of our footy department with team selection , the pizzweak lazy and selfish efforts on the field , the seemingly dumbfounded look on Goodwin's face who looked like he was out of his depth, pushed me over the edge. Yesterday my heart rate did not change one little bit for the whole match apart from that last 30 second forward foray when my heart yearned for a useless draw. How sad and pathetic am I..... On par with this footy club. -
Joeboy - on the money!

If Clarkson was our coach, Jones would be packing the reef oil and surf wax on his way to Surfers Paradise.

Things just a.... Don't seema... To.... Be goin' right.

What about being scored against in the first minute of a quarter . We seemed to have owned that title a few years back and have welcomed it back with open arms this year.
-
When they're reviewing recruitment and drafting, find out why they failed to recognise we desperately need outside ball users with pace when all we went for was more of the same hard bodied inside players. Every single one of us on here could see this was a requirement..... How did they not??

Will you renew your membership in 2020?
Hellaintabadplacetobe replied to Ethan Tremblay's topic in Melbourne Demons
x 2. Auto renew Premium Member for 15 years. If it's more of the same after a month I will cancel my membership. It's a lot of money for no reward. I would still attend games but GA tickets only. -
I posted this in another thread about the co-captaincy last night, probably more appropriate here....... I remember Jones being blind-sided, but then ``warmed`` to the idea. From the outside looking in, I don`t think he ever warmed to it and there are lingering side-effects on show to this day. I was told 2 years ago by a former player that Viney was more concerned about his own form than being a leader. Maybe he has grown since then but he hasnt exactly been on the park for much of the past 2 years. In my opinion both of them need to go and Gawn needs to be made sole Captain, appointed by the coach. His speech at the BnF last year was enough to tell me he is a true leader, he talks the talk BUT he walks the walk. I don`t think Jones nor Viney are natural leaders. Steven May has shown more onfield leadership (in the few games he has played) than either of these blokes this year. Clean slate next year or its rinse and repeat, bet your bottom dollar.

I'm very similar in age and mindset right now. I've been a Premium member ever since I returned to Melbourne 14 years ago. Out of all the countless disappointments we've had in half a century I think last night was the tipping point for me. Not even in the Neeld era did I consider stopping my membership. $650 a year gets me a pretty decent guitar.
