  1. Picked the same day as Bec Judd's announcement that she is leaving the city of Melbourne, to try n keep this low profile ?
  2. Semis minimum or bust next year. Considering the base we came off in 2018 we should be aiming for a flag, but we are not. There's a breath of fresh air with the recent coaching / staff changes which gives me some hope.
  3. Met him just before schoonergate (he had 1 beer) and I could not have been more impressed with him which is not what I was expecting. He acknowledged he didn't arrive in best condition and it drove him to change his training habits which he did. He has absolute certainty about his ability without being arrogant and as we've seen is not afraid to speak his mind when a player or the team are not up to standard. He's our best leader by a long way in my opinion.
  4. I agree with this LH. There appeared from afar to be very little communication between the 2, especially in the coaches box. Gee, Mahoney must be one hell of an operator, whatever it is he does other than list management. The club has been a failure pretty much every year he's been involved and he survives again.
  5. Happy with this. Chain him to Langers and learn the wingman role. His disposal is not dissimilar to Langdon, just needs the tank and workrate.
  6. It's a beautiful thing. They absolutely despise the Storm and Gus is not alone. One of the greatest teams in the history of their sport and they hate it. What they have achieved this year being away from home for 5 months when most other teams slept in their own beds is truly amazing. Won't get acknowledged in Sydney though, they'll be talking only about Origin by tomorrow night.
  7. Stared thoughtfully out of the coaches box rubbing his chin....and did nothing.
  8. He's too busy trying to decipher the answers to all his riddles of past years, none of which ever eventuated.
  9. Let me get this right.... Clarry wants success and Carlton came calling ????
  10. Pretty sad to say such is our highlights reel, but that is up there in the greatest moments I've experienced at the G in my half century. Unforgettable.
  11. May was under the impression he was going to be a Pie. His manager suggested he have a chat with Goody before he committed which he did almost begrudgingly. At the end of the phone call he told his manager he wants to be a Dee. I know it means nought without a source but that is how it played out.
  12. For a few seasons including 2000 worked directly with Shane Charter (known as a pharmaceutical company salesman/ fitness instructor among other things ) on his fitness. Certainly worked for him that year!
  13. If he's offered a 2 yr deal or better I'd be surprised if he doesn't take. He's been slowing down for 2 years now and I highly doubt he will get many games for us next year. He's been a fave of mine for a long time now and I'd be sad to see him go but nobody could begrudge him taking it if it's offered. My only concern will be the impact it has on Kosi.
  14. Like every other year..... The trade and draft period.
  15. Agree Doc. If we get another key forward in Fritta will become very dangerous and Hannan will struggle to get a game unless we try him on the wing.
  16. Absolutely. Ruck is a glaring weakness in their side, they are desperate for him. I'll be pretty unhappy if that's all we get.
  17. I've had premium membership for 15 years with GF guarantee OD. I'll be doing similar to your mates. Without a job thanks to covid and no guarantee we can attend matches I just can't fathom spending that sort of money anymore.
  18. Currently the worst final in living memory.
  19. So would I. I highly doubt GWS would agree. Riccardi is already a better player than Weid after half a dozen games.
  20. SEN reporting he loves it at Melbn and even 2 weeks ago was prepared to stay, but he definitely wants out now. I think we did really well getting those few games into him and performed more than serviceably which increased his trade value. Good luck big fella and thanks for your service !
  21. Yeah let's hope so. Not rated by 3 die hard Swans fans I know. No thanks .
  22. I like Merrett but he's not really what we need is he? I'd have thought him a similar player to Viney with marginally better skills.
  23. Great. It needs to be brutal. You'd expect if Goody retains his gig they should clean the slate around him bar maybe Chaplin if he is our backline coach.
  24. Our season is completely unacceptable and yet many choose to accept that it was OK under the circumstances due to covid, travel factors, 4-5 day breaks etc. It was a failure. We are still devoid of leadership, still make mind boggling team selection and still fail to stop teams when they are on a roll. The only positive for me was the potential we've seen in our first 3 draft picks and the recruitment of Langdon. Sadly, it hardly even hurts any more, we've seen the same [censored] show on high rotation for 50 years. At least we've got learnings.
