Apologies if this has been posted already or if we're not allowed to do so. This is one of the best speeches I've ever heard involving our club.

Nathan Jones 272
Hellaintabadplacetobe replied to Rodney (Balls) Grinter's topic in Melbourne Demons
No coincidence that Jones form has improved since he started spending more time in the middle. He is not a winger. -
If anyone is still entertaining us playing finals this year on the back of that performance, here is a sobering thought for you...... We have played only 1 team in the current top 8. We are miles off.

POSTGAME: Rd 08 vs Gold Coast

As I said last week, we are yet to lose a game with DK in the team.!! -
GAMEDAY: Rd 08 vs Gold Coast
Hellaintabadplacetobe replied to buck_nekkid's topic in Melbourne Demons
What a putrid game of footy. It's actually embarrassing how bad we are -
This begs a serious question.... Who played on Roughy last weekend and kept him to 8 touches, 1 goal and zero marks?? I was there but can't remember.

Ablett wins appeal. System is broken
Hellaintabadplacetobe replied to buck_nekkid's topic in Melbourne Demons
If Dusty only got 1 week for deliberately elbowing a bloke with force to the head, 50m behind play, there is no way this could have got the same result. Dusty should've got 2 plus though in my opinion but the protected species rule was applied. -
Yeah heard this on SEN too

It's a massive fail by many at the club. I spoke to a player a few days after that match. We went in with a squad 2 less than what we were entitled to, we then lost 2 players to injury before halftime . Consequently, this particular player (among others I assume) had to play far more game time than planned. That player has been hampered by injury this year also. Coincidence maybe but who would know.... Nobody at the club that's for sure. Amatuer hour.

Reckon he is still carrying a niggle with that toe, looks like a slight limp still, certainly not 100% fit and is not demanding the footy. He's playing out games and is improving each week but still a far cry from last year's form. If/when it returns we will be a 3 goal better team minimum each week.

We are yet to be defeated when Declan Keilty is in the side ?

Saw PJ in the premium members area in a Dees scarf at halftime .... Knew everything would be just fine after that!

Not a very inspiring morning weather wise thus far. Unfortunately I associate this type of cold, wet weather to an absolute pantsing. Hope it clears up!

PREGAME: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
Hellaintabadplacetobe replied to Lucifers Hero's topic in Melbourne Demons
Whilst I agree with giving Keilty n Petty a shot, and I agree with our season being finished, this is the sort of post that belongs on the troll banner a few weeks ago. I like many of your posts dazzle but this is poor form mate . -
R.I.P. Mike Williamson. He was the best....

As soon as I hear his voice it takes me back to my childhood. "It's not over yet!! " -

We're playing Satdy! -
They`ve lost all their confidence (in themselves and in each other) as a result of the first month of footy I reckon PIt and secondly once their lack of fitness kicks in, the basic skills like hitting simple targets goes out the door.

Great post Buck. Totally agree on all points. I think they have absolutely overestimated our depth (like many of us here, me included), thinking some of our fringe players could burden the load until the guns were all back and firing. Scrape a few wins early in the season and then re-load and expect more of the same domination of late last year. It`s been a disaster, but I guess these surgeries had to happen at some stage and now we are copping the ramifications. We are likely to turn it around mid season, problem is our season is already cooked.

Gerard Whateley this morning led his show on SEN stating that Melbournes poor start to the year was simply due to our #interruptedpreseason that according to some on here did not exist. He said its not an excuse, it's the reason.

Possibly the most overrated player in the AFL. Most of his career goals are Joe the Goose type

The healthy ego of Paul Roos and our current plight.
Hellaintabadplacetobe replied to TGR's topic in Melbourne Demons
This. We were lacking outside speed last year too, yet we made a prelim. Yes we have needed outside run for years but it's far from our main concern right now. -
If anything they pushed higher, but it may have been because I watched from behind the goals instead of my usual home game seat flank /wing. I don't understand why the coaches persist with this. Works well as you saw in the first qtr when we are fresh, we set up a few goals from half back with run. Problem is they spend all their petrol tickets and there's nothing left in the tank. The press becomes our downfall because every other team is fitter and their run n chase constantly put our playmaker under pressure causing turnovers because we are not running to present to the player with the ball.

Agree with most of this. Season is shot. Fritsch us being played out of position by necessity because of injuries. He is the most natural wingman on our list and we need to play him there for the rest of the season . No wonder his confidence is shot he does not have the build to play back. In regards to our I50, the delivery is diabolical often because there is nobody there unless it's a centre bounce. They all press so far up the ground and when we win it the opposition simply outrun us, chase and we kick under pressure usually straight to an opponent. This comes down to fitness and game plan , both of which are downright disgraceful which is an indictment on both the players and the coaching staff.

Being there for the ANZAC ceremony was a very moving experience, the first quarter whilst not pretty was some of the hottest footy in any match this year. The following 3 quarters was just a putrid, mistake-ridden game of footy , the crowd was as flat as I've ever seen 70k plus in my life. We are a very ordinary team, most likely bottom 4.

Brendan McCartney & Cooney/Bulldogs situation
Hellaintabadplacetobe replied to SFebes's topic in Melbourne Demons
Tom Morris reporting on On The Couch there are issues resurfacing which were discussed last year with Brendan McCartney. Disconnect between some of the players and coaches with him including Goodwin. He mentioned he is a backline coach in conjunction with Chaplin, that's the first I've heard of that.
