Spargo and Hannan`s 2nd efforts and pressure acts already surpass Kent, he`ll have his work cut out to get back in the team. AVB was a solid citizen 2 or 3 seasons ago when we had a pretty ordinary midfield. I`m not sure if any of Clarrie, ANB, Harmes or even Trac would have played in the same midfield as him I`d have thought and all are a long way ahead of him now. I`d love to see him get back in but IMO I reckon he`ll only get back in if injury requires it. Great problem to have and hope they both have an injury free season from here on in.

This was an ugly win but a pretty impressive one in my eyes. Normally, to get murdered in clearances all over the ground would result in a big loss to any team. Not many have mentioned the Dogs game plan which curtailed our attacking flair. I haven't seen a team flood the backline like that in years.... They were in damage control. Many times they had EVERY player inside our half forward line. We didn't play great footy either, but we found a way. It's a new dawn.

Interesting to see J Smith names as an emergency. Havent heard much about his Casey form, can anyone elaborate?

After watching the game live I thought Gus was clear BOG but having watched the replay, Hogans game was enormous. The ground he covers is remarkable, almost Riewoldt like already and he must be an absolute nightmare to match up against for the opposition. He`s in rare form and will only improve.

Always knew he would make it if he got a good run injury free. One of those rare players that is more than competent on his left foot and uses it as much if not more than his right. May well be a direct result of Jonesy taking him under his wing, who also does it on a regular basis. Rapt for the young fella, and he seems happy as can be to be out there not just contributing, but dominating.
