A LOT over the top? How many mid-fielders do you think we play in the 22? My order this coming year is Maloney, Jones, Davey, Trengove, Sylvia, McKenzie, Bail. Who does he push out? Davey?, well he couldnt be more different. he would have to IMO, push out McKenzie and I cant see it. If you are including flanks/Mid-fielders which (again) I wasnt, I would have him this year competing with Sylvia, Blease, Bennell and possibly Evans. I rate him a lot on his ability although he is supposed to be an elite kick and if he cant hit targets it must be because he is too slow. I wish he would get on the park more often. But he doesnt. Neither did Blease who I thought was over-rated but when he was physically right, he unleashed. I was wrong, but I dont see that upside in Grimes, where many do. So to spell it out if you keep him back and if he is fit, he gets in my 22. Choose him from a mid-field group and he misses my 22.

Ive not much against Grimes except the weight of expectation that he is going to be elite. If he were to be chosen as a mid-fielder as opposed to the backline he would be just in front of Bate in my view and therefor not best 22. Jack is a player that supporters back to be top 3 or captain, which while I dont agree with doesnt get up my frock. To be named Elite when we dont have one and then to compare him to Swan is enough to make me actually post...

I dont believe Grimes has got the speed to be an elite player. His poor foot skill is one example of his lack of speed as he doesnt have time to deliver correctly under pressure. I dont consider Jack Grimes has shown enough to warrant being in the best 22. There is always time enough if you are good enough but Time is running out.

You must go a long way back Bobby, because you cant be saying David Cordner was better than Cam Bruce!
-
Cam played some great games for the club over 10 years but he didnt deserve to still be one of the best payed in 2011. A part of the reason we had so much to throw at TS and then failing that Mitch Clarke, came from saving money on Cam.

WYL Im not with you on that one. I always thought Ayres was a key back with the luxury of playing in the pocket. Where we would have to put a Warren Dean, Grinter or a Sean Wight in the critical positions hawks had the langfords mews and knights. He almost never took the biggest or best. My jaundiced eye may be telling, but i reckon he was good not great. Bruce Doull however could play anywhere down back.

Was it right or wrong for Neeld to be in the Magpie rooms after the game?
Damo replied to a topic in Melbourne Demons
Cam Mooney said on TV yesterday that there had been no contact from Bomber Thompson to most of the Geelong senior players at all. Not just the finals but all year. He said it hurt. He intimated that people should be bigger than that. Not everyone is the same but Im at ease with Neeld soaking more experience in. -
Collingwood only hit front 20 minutes into Last. All teams book Arizona. Collingwood by 12 points. LuKe Ball Norm Smith MCC not full, outrage.

I had lost faith in this guy living till today and there he is suiting up giving a speech. Im unaware of anyone tougher, in any realm you could name. I have said goodbye to a close few who have died of cancer and I didnt believe in the power of sheer will power. But I do now. Maybe prayers help too. Go Jimmy.

Thats a relief. Thanks rpfc.

Is Scully invited?

In so far as West was allowed to play on with a damaged leg at the Bulldogs, I agree. He was limping for a year before they parted ways and he couldnt accept that he was past it.

Rumour that Mick Malthouse is telling anyone asking about his availability next year, that his assistants are better than the average bear. Not so much to help them out as much as he doesnt want to leave the incoming coach anything, any [censored] thing at all.
-
I don't like Lloyd but he is smart and always honest in his assessments. To get him as an assistant would be a coup In my opinion.
-
I didnt think it was that obscure that DS will be quite guarded in his musings on the football club if you are a Demons supporter.

sportingbet and sportsbet have taken down the "next MFC Coach" betting. I know you should follow the money but that indicates to me a coach for MFC is now most likely known by some. If RL was re-apponted to ST Kilda I would assume they would just make his odds longer like they did with Clarkson. Strange.

I have two mates who have met and spoken to David at reasonable length. In both instances the Ox did try to find out whether they were a fan of MFC or not. one of my mates is a some-time presenter on a different show on SEN, he is not a MFC fan. The Ox didnt hold back on Daniher and MFC in general and how he had no mates except for one or two who had played for the Demons. The club didnt support him when he had his troubles. The Ox was not a fan for a long time and he doesnt believe he is now. My other mate who is a performer who fairly regularly donates a performance to the club, believes the Ox to be right behind the club and supportive. They both think he is a great guy. I have never met him other than a quick handshake.

Out: Scully In: Valenti That should have Rossy Lyon breaking down the door.
-
Thats only because it would be a big ask for a rookie to wear that glove. Bleeding red and blue comes to mind.

I suppose some one has also mentioned it but Sheedy was on 105.1 MMM this morning talking to Sheedy. They were both very happy and I was sad and angry. Anyway Eddie asked Sheedy how long have you known TS was coming to the Giants and Sheedy said he had known all year but nothing was signed, just an agreement.

Anyone with the mantra of "we dont deserve nice things..." really deserves a clip over the ear.
