  1. Thanks KC. Your reports are most appreciated.
  2. I thought it was the midfield, so Im stupid. Stronger core, taller midfield that isnt knocked off the ball. I dont include Grimes or Trengove as I dont see them being quick (enough)off the mark to be in the middle. Scully, Maloney and Jones are all shortish. Gys and Morton are pushed out of the way.
  3. I didnt hear it but it is my opinion Neil Mitchell hates collingwood much more than he "Likes" MFC. He seems to have a set against Gary Pert in particular and being the vindictive type Mitchell is I wouldnt be surprised he is stirring the possum.
  4. This. plus G.Lyon to stay somewhere in the box. Im suddenly impressed.
  5. To me it is because they do not play to win, they play to not lose. Just like Sydney when Ross lyon was Roos's AC. Although a bit of a high wire act he is good at what he does, playing in the back half. It is just ugly football.
  6. There are a couple of reasons why i think this may be close to the mark. Green's last couple of contract discussions have been protracted by his management IIRC. Like Cam Bruce, the bag will be only half full, take it or leave it. BUT MFC doesnt give Captaincy or Coach for one year, right or wrong. MFC would be mauled by the press for not sticking fat with Green during this last year. Notwithstanding some journos need for a headline, they would turn pretty damn quick. I dont see a clear alternate at this stage, meself. I hope he can turn it around.

    Bennell

Im a Bennell fan but when you expect him to grab a hotly disputed ball, he taps it with one hand to (hopefully) his advantage. Its not right. No-one at Hawthorn, for example would be allowed to get away with it. He plays like he is still 18 years old unfortunately. If Bailey was too school-masterly then Jamie now needs a whole lot of Old-School HTFU.
  8. If Green has the captaincy taken from him after one year, during which the coach was sacked, there would be an outroar. Im not sure where I read the article about how being a football club captain can mess with your own game (and mind), but it struck a cord with how i feel about Greeny. He isnt concentrating on his own game. Maybe he wont be able to, but maybe he will be better after this annus horribilus. If there was a stand-out for the position, I would be all for it, but our leadership problems run deeper than the captain. I dont believe the balance will be put right with bringing in JT a year or two too early. MFC has a history of not changing captains or coaches quickly, for good or bad. I was astounded and confused when Greg Healy was installed as leader after Robbie flower instead of Danny Hughes. But they stuck with it, for three years. A good player before taking the poisoned chalice, Suger wasnt the leader Danny was, and his game suffered.
  9. I thought you were a Pig. Or a Wolf. Now the cannibal is back. No pressing need to describe yourself as self-indulgent. Lucky you are only responding to yourself. Its getting dicey working out where the black runs are.
  10. CASEY SCORPIONS vs WERRIBEE TIGERS (Reserve Grade) Saturday 20th August Casey Fields at 11:00 AM Any news? Hows the Turtle going?
  11. This comes as a shock to me! I never thought they had the option to request rotating home games. Makes sense. good on him.
  12. I would be happy with Rocket except he has run out of fuel. Although he has had a shocking year with injuries to his gun players(of which the blame could be attributed to him for too early returns) he has looked spent all year. If he was invigorated I would change my mind.
  13. A bit dis-appointing Petterds pointed out MgGinnity to the umpire IMO. I had 1st thought the umpire had overheard it, but the vision shows Ricky making a big deal out of it.
  14. I care more for Jim Stynes than winning the next four games for him. I hope they win but i dont connect the two issues.
  15. Im surprised Grimes name is being regularly added to the Leadership group. You need to be reliable. You have to be on-field. JG doesnt fill this Key selection criteria for mine. If Jack Trengove decided off his own bat to re-sign days after Bailey was ousted and we were flogged to show support of the club, as has been reported last night, thats off-field leadership.
  16. I wonder if he goes, you will still believe he made his mind up after this current season?
  17. I hardly ever comment on Jacks writings any more. I just accept his skill and insight. I found this unexpectedly moving. Thanks WJ.
  18. My understanding was, it was to avoid those unfit to plead. But where ever you go, there you are.
  19. Don't lose your fin screws in Bali. A good screw is hard to find. Lucky banana smoothies and banana pancakes are a dime a dozen. Well until the AU$ dropped they were.
  20. Watching the game live it looked like under 18's vs the blues. We probably would have won games like todays if we had have traded for 27 yr old KPP. I am swayed towards wishing we had have pulled that trigger, if only to stop deep disappointment from the player group. With Sylvia and jamar out, it exacerbates our inexperience. We have made a hard choice and we want to look to the day we watch Blues Saints and Tigers supporters feel how we do. it is tough and we hate it. And we will kill those [censored] in a couple of years.

    GAME DAY

I am only just grasping that i should be grateful PPL have those little signoffs under their posts. They certainly clear up any doubts.

    GAME DAY

I hope GL or TV has a sitdown with Jones and show him how many turnovers he makes. Not just this game but many times he kicks for goal without lowering his eyes or he misses gimme short passes on his right foot without pressure. Having just back got back to media and internet after a week in outback bali, I am depressed that not only idiots are screaming but reasoned posters cant grasp that young sides cant last 22 weeks. HTFU. Jones and Moloney are just dim.
  23. I have backed number 31 since 1965. The number is obviously jinxed. Please dont tell me how Paul wheatley kicked 65 metre bombs. Just because he was capable of it doesnt mean it happened much. He did it maybe 10 times. Whatever rein TS pulls now is immaterial to me.
  24. where you been, man? they've been $14-16 at Vic market for 4 months. Yesterday though, there were bananas for $9 kilo. breakthrough.
