  1. Anyone know whether ANB's knee is pre-existing condition? Bad news for the kid.
  2. Regarding the backs. I'd like to see Salem take a flank and be the guy to pin point passes. Played some Carnival footy there from memory. Can tackle and isn't soft so maybe a better option than Grimes/Terlich?
  3. Watts, Blease, Straussy, Tappy... Oh wait! Let's go with Viney (if he stops falling over), Newton and hopefully Salem.
  4. I think there is more to a full-back than to keep up on the lead with a full forward, which McDonald does well. It's actually his footballing ability that I find poor. Is he a decent contested mark? No, Is he good at setting up play from the backline? No. Can he make good, quick decisions with ball in hand? No. Can he dispose of the pill in a way that helps to relieve pressure on team-mates? No. I'm very sorry I expect more from an AFL-standard key defender. To me, ball in hand, he's like a deer in headlights. You'd hope with 60 games in the bank he'll develop into a McPharlane type in the future. But as I see it a Alistair Nicholson-type is more likely.
  5. Lot of love for McDonald here. Apart from his running ability l find him bog ordinary.
  6. Let's hope that Viney with all his perceived extra strength can stand in his feet. Autumn leaves in my mere opinion.
  7. Let's hope that in 2015 Dawes can shed the concrete hands that has plagued him at Melbourne and Collingwood. He does most other things well but we can't afford a CHF that is unable to mark overhead.
  8. Be interested to hear from those in attendance as to how Jeff Garlett is going. Always looks laconic but got the job done for a few years at the Blues. Maybe Malthouse knocked his confidence around last season? He could be one of four x-factor inclusions next season to add with HL, Hogan and Petracca. Reckon we'll look less beige in 2015.
  9. All these decisions are correct. Club should be congratulated. Faith is slowly being restored.
  10. Nicely written piece. Obama ran a campaign on hope and the people (me included) believed. Makes it all the more disappointing when it fails. One draft won't lift the curse but hope springs eternal!
  11. Navicular foot fracture would be in the back of some recruiters minds.
  12. When he builds a tank! Unless you're working for Messrs Sherman.
  13. Gee we're a judgemental lot here on Demonland! But then again if it makes us feel bettter...
  14. Who I'd select: Brayshaw De Goey/Cockatoo All three are sons of good footballers. Two VFL, one NTFL. Doesn't necessarily mean hunger but it's in the blood!
  15. I want a player that is a tough mudder fooker. One that believes he should be there. Has the courage of conviction to be the best. Petracca and McCartin seem likely types here.I want other clubs to fear us. I want the alpha males in this draft crop. AFL football is a tough caper. Let's get the Demon back in Demonland!
  16. You guys worry too much! Failed footballer goes on bogan radio station to answer questions on why he's a failure! Knows he will attract some sympathy (insecure) from opposition supporters and at the same time gives himself an excuse. Sam has never really taken a good hard look at himself. It is always someone else. Never forgot a practice match in 2013 where he spent seemingly forever yelling abuse at the umpire after giving away a free. Those incapable of self relection soon become delusional. Not sure Paul Roos is at all concerned. Self justification should never be an excuse for poor performance and all that!
  17. What's his pace like? Thumping left-foot kick.
  18. Posted this in the 2&3 thread. There has been plenty of work apparently put into Corey Ellis.
  19. Know for a fact that there has been plenty of work done on Corey Ellis by Taylor and his team. Tall midfielder with a few tricks, but had some injury issues this season. Melbourne have apparently been asking an 'inordinate number' of questions about him.Make of it what you will.
  20. Howe is not a decent kick, he's bloody awful!
  21. Toby Greene or Shiel can still play a big role here despite it all being quiet on the Greater Western Front.
  22. Was good three or four years back. Maybe a case of we've seen his best.Roos likes his outside types to crack in. Not sure Varcoe is at that stage in his life where he wants to.
  23. No one on here could believe it when he didn't get picked in the National Draft. Turned out to be the right decision. Bit NQR. Not many tricks and lacks a yard. That's not to say he can't make it. Spud Firito was in a similar boat.
