What worries me with this plan and we saw plenty of evidence on Friday night is short passing aspect. I counted about 30 short passes that simply missed the target. Many of the short kicks were too high or slewed off the boot. Some of our guys don't drop the ball low enough and don't stab the ball. Such kicks should never be higher than head height.

You can only improve when you become confident in the skills you possess. For that we are a long way behind. Confidence breeds confidence so it will be interesting to see when it comes together.

To the contrary! I think Jacko got the most out of himself. He had an accurate kick up to 40 metres. Was OK on the lead but that's about it. Couldn't jump, couldn't take a pack mark, wasn't quick and useless with the ball on the ground. He was a decent target though and 76 goals in a season was a good effort. He also allowed Gerard Healy to kick a few one year (77 from memory) by dropping plenty of marks!

Nice summary, but I'd point out to 'decimate' something is to kill a large number of something or reduce something severely (often one-tenth). So you can be decimated by injuries, but losing by 20 goals is the wrong context.

Jack might make a good winger. Has the attributes. Can never be a stoppage mid as he is too apprehensive about physical contact. Kind of wish Jack's junior coaches had drummed into him that you are less likely to get hurt if you go for it first.

As great as it is to hang on every word, Roos is not the messiah. Demonlanders should stop thinking like that as it can only end in disappointment. Also he has been out of the top level for some time. It may take more time than we expect. By all means enjoy the ride but for your own sanity be objective.

Straight running half-back flanker. I think he could learn plenty off Daniel Cross.

I like Billings. Looks to be all class, a real natural. Also like Sheed. Displays good leadership and looks tough. Freeman's ball drop worries me. Also a lack of poise. KK is a magnificent kick but we want pure mids. Salem looks good but there's not much X-factor.

We need players with x-factor. I'd take him. Steve Johnson had issues early on turned out OK. Need left-footers as well.
