  1. My girlfriend of 3 years has always been an Essendon supporter (not a die hard, but followed them) I convinced her because my passion lies so heavily in Melbourne that I would be so happy if she would consider coming across as a Melbourne Supporter, learn the players and competitive teams, watch 360 with me etc. She made an effort to learn all the Melbourne players names and number (At the gym, her locker number might be 12 she would say "Number 12.. Dom Tyson..Traded to Melbourne from GWS with Christian Salem in the draft" At the start of the year she couldn't believe she had put in all this effort and time to turn and support a club that I had promised her would turn it around this year. Following the match against the eagles we have turned into a serious outfit. When we went to the Richmond game she couldn't believe we won.. Hearing her yell out BALL! and GO TYSON!, OMG DAWES!! made me so happy..The match against Essendon where we were both biting our nails and on the edge of our seats we were so happy we came away with the win. It made me such a happy man
  2. Bail, JKH, Nicholson? Not to mention I'd prefer to play Evans in that role over Neade.
  3. Brisbane needed Rockliff to stay loyal. With all the new players coming and going in the past few years, he was one that needed to sign on and show to the playing group that he is Brisbane for life and committed. I don't know the Brisbane camp personally, but from the way he goes about it on the field and by reports, Rockliff is a leader. The last thing that the club needed was for one of their leaders to be traded away after showing loyalty, what does that say to the rest of the playing group? He was going no where.
  4. Wait, is it our home game? Do our normal GA memberships entitle us entry?
  5. Chip, you're next mate.
  6. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-02-28/dom-tyson-reveals-how-close-he-came-to-joining-richmond Imagine him playing for Richmond..The media would be having a field day crapping on about him being a future brownlow medalist. Let's all be thankful he is in the Red & The Blue!
  7. Jones over Boak. Regarding Dom vs Oliver... Don't get me wrong, Wines is a very very good player and would love to have him at the Dees. However, there is a very rare breed of players that come through the AFL system that possess the poise, smarts, cleanness and game changing attributes which you'd be very lucky to land that player at your Club. This is where Dom Tyson fits that category to a tee. Wines isn't a rare breed of talent... someone of his talent and nature how he goes about footy can be found in any draft and we have our Wines in Jones & Viney. Consequently, this is why I would always want Tyson at my club.
  8. Hahaha, everyone at the office is looking at me now after I laughed hard.
  9. You know what... I have a feeling Geelong may disregard Dangerfield and go very hard at Cameron. I think he is worth a lot more to Geelong as their depth is lacking in their forward line. They rely so heavily on Hawkins that if he goes down they don't really have a good key target to kick to, so they have to swing Harry Taylor forward which ultimately upsets their structured backline. That saying, that'll potentially open the door for us to then target Dangerfield with less competition provided my initial statement is correct. I don't know about you guys, but for some reason I see Cameron in a Geelong jumper.. Suits him.
  10. Would you have thrown the kitchen sink at a young Nick Riewoldt knowing the talent he has and the potential he reached at St Kilda? Now think Riewoldt... but better.. This is what Jeremy Cameron is... Get him Melbourne.
  11. Agreed, Treloar is a hard running midfielder disposal that definitely hurts the opposition. Would be glad to give up our first round pick for him and a player. 1st round pick + Blease
  12. I posted it last time from my twitter feed.. Here it is again for those who missed out
  13. 1. 9/10 (Would like to see him kick more goals on a regular basis. He is starting to do that but I want to keep seeing it) 2. Yes
  14. The Gods' have smiled upon us and extended their blessings. May us, the Melbourne Football Club supporters be forever thankful for the safe and respectful journey Peter Jackson, Roos & Co are taking us on. GO DEES!
  15. I honestly reckon our midfield is so much better without him actually in it. He gives away so many free kicks and his only opportunities at this club was to provide a tagging opportunity. Which is now filled by players such as Cross and Nathan Jones with a massive ROI. Mckenzie is slow and a liability and clutters that extra spot we could use for a quality midfielder who has the ability to win clearances.
  16. Agreed, just like St Kilda.
  17. If we had a solid coach from the start, Blease would have been a much better player WITH a defensive game. Roos is all about hard running, up and down the ground getting numbers to the contest and putting a stranglehold around stoppages and being accountable for your player. Give Blease this year and next year, I guarantee he will build up a huge engine and develop a solid mix of defensive and attacking pressure and feature in our starting line up.
  18. L-R Trengove, Evans, Kent, Strauss, Hogan.... Geez Demonland
  19. Were you the one that rang up SEN and said this? Exactly what someone else said
  20. A great couch would be hard to turn down for any up and coming player.
  21. I don't know what the general consensus is for Dylan Shiel, but I for one would love him at the Dees and be willing to part with our first round pick for him. I feel he would have an immediate impact to the team much like Tyson. Shiel is an inside and outside ball user with a big body, great speed and a midfielder capable of kicking goals.
  22. I think we are lacking some pure dash and willingness to go for a run. A lot of teams have that link player where they have the ability to cut and weave through traffic and have confidence to gain those few extra meters. Insert Blease perfectly for this role. If he can learn to find the ball this could help our transitions from half back to forward 50
  23. Gawn: Some big grabs Never seen big Maxy take such imposing pack marks. He could have taken two more in the goal square.
  24. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face when I read this on my twitter feed. Here we have respect coming from a champion of our game. Not only supporters, but players are legitimately recognizing the Melbourne Football Club and our players. It's great to see.
  25. I'm getting excited to see the players development over the next year. To see Pederson come out and play like that and even Max Gawn in comparison to his previous year is astonishing. I really hope those players we have drafted during that period who are at Casey (Strauss, Tapscott, Blease & co) turn it around under Roos like so many have already. Exciting times.
