Interesting.. We were obviously interested and in talks with Garlett but did not go hard initially to reduce his value later. In 2013 he kicked 43 goals. I think he would be a great attribute at a cheap price.

Age does have something to do with it and I feel the AFL looks at how crucial the player was to the teams line up and they will consider that an AA full back for a struggling club is definitely worthy of a band 1.

Higgins got four years at $400k. Doggies received 2nd bad compensation. I would assume Frawley is on 4 years @ 600. Will this get us over the line as 1st band compensation?

I really want Malceski. We have been talking about how we might dilute the Frawley compensation.. But would the AFL seriously drop a first band compensation just for picking up Malceski and lowering it to a 2nd band?

We will be getting pick 3 as compensation 100% One of the reasons we were denied draft assistance is due to the fact the AFL knew we were getting compensation for Frawley after our pick 2. We have nothing to worry.

I find it absolutely disgusting that Swann has come out and made these comments. They are only doing this to ensure their pick 4 doesn't fall to five so they can secure Beams (Even though pick 4 is not even CLOSE to being worth it for Beams). He is purposely trying to hamstring Melbourne for their own gain whilst using Beam's Dads illness as leverage in order to bring in a player with a trade that is significantly under value for his caliber. Let's be honest, if Beams were on the open market, it would require two first rounders to secure him. Would Brisbane give up Rockliff for pick four? No. If you want to bring in a player of that quality, you need to trade a player of that quality.

Our pick 21 may be used on Lumumba which will then allow us to pick up Stretch with our third rounder. We don't know for sure, but clubs may nominate Billy before our 2nd pick will have forced us to use pick 21. I don't mind using this on Lumumba and then nabbing Stretch with a third rounder.
