Welcome to Demonland: Riley Onley
Been following Riley for a few years now through APS and Vic Country, and this is a ripping rookie pickup by Melbourne. He’s one of those rare 195cm mids who actually plays like a midfielder, not a key position guy shoved on ball. Always had clean hands, but this season he finally added that burst speed and confidence in his kicking that pushed him into genuine draftable territory. He’s been on a steady upward curve for a while. People who only saw him late probably don’t realise how much he’s improved year-on-year. Coaches around him always talk about how coachable he is and how well he prepares for big games, and it shows. He’s had plenty of reps at APS, National Academy and senior level, and he tends to rise to the moment rather than go missing. Give him a couple of preseasons in Melbourne’s system and he could easily turn into that big-bodied, unique-profile mid they’ve been trying to find. Massive upside if his development keeps trending the same way.

Welcome to Demonland: Thomas Matthews
He's a livewire. Zippy, tough, strong footy IQ and will be an absolute menace up forward. Gippsland captain, drifted out due to PCL injury. If he had played all year, he would have been top 15 pick potentially. Keep an eye on this one, think Papley. Watch this space. Good outcome Dees fans.

Welcome to Demonland: Latrelle Sumner-Pickett
Adelaide offered two first rounders to Essendon for Sharp. Wonder if they offered that to us. Would be interesting to see had we have taken that deal, would Pickett have been available at Adelaide’s first pick at 22?

AFL Draft 2025: Picks 7 & 8
Taylor has an unbelievable set of hands and strong IQ and body positioning. I wonder if he’s ever been trialled up forward. Looks like a serious player.

AFL Draft 2025: Phantom Drafts
Sam Grlj is going to be one of the best players from this draft. Bookmark it. If he slides to us, we have absolutely won.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
Regardless if he has an outstanding year or not, we made the right call. The controversy surrounding him year after year is just too draining for the club. For years we have just allowed Goodwin to play favourites and no one driving a harder stance for professionalism and improvement. A new change of scenery is what was neeeded for both Clarry, and a fresh start and new path way for the Melbourne Football Club. Supporters are forgetting, we had both Trac and Clarry playing for us and we have been bottoming out every year. Regardless of his output next year, he needed to go so we can reset and play a different faster, more outside game style that is suited for the modern game.

Dawn of a new Era - Paul Guerra article 18.10.2025
Some of you guys need to lighten up.. Saying it's "cringe" because he said it was cool for the draft picks we got? Honestly...Grow up. We have gone from an administration that would not tell us anything, to one where we are doing everything they can to keep us constantly informed, updated and keeping it quite casual in terms of how they deliver the message making it feel down to earth and less corporate and it's been a breath of fresh air. Can't win with half of the people on this thread, it's so depressing. Go and exercise, you'll feel better and be less annoyed at everything in the world.

Bailey Humphrey
You can just see this bloke in a Collingwood jumper.

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
Come on. Be realistic about this at least lol

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
He was showing great form in the latter part of the season. I think we will see the best of Clayton next year. Wonder if he would be willing to take some sort of base pay cut and agree to be incentivised pased on accomplishments and KPI's?

Can we talk about Kolt?
Yeah this guy is not it. Absolute bust.

POSTGAME: Rd 05 vs Essendon
One of our BIGGEST issues, that no one is even addressing is our missed tackles. Its so insanely dumb what we do. We go to tackle, and we always tackle at the hips. Never try and grab one arm. Bowie did it correct, that's the only time I saw it (which lead to a goal) The opponent just easily handballs it off. We render ourselves useless by even trying to tackle..We do this rinse and repeat, out of every stoppage and the opposition just walks it out every time, whilst our players are on the ground looking up and doing nothing.

POSTGAME: Rd 01 vs GWS
I was very impressed with XL and his debut performance. Very polished, classy, and awesome disposal effeciency given the wet weather. He did something in the last quarter which really stood out to me. He knew he had an opponent on his tail, and instead of just taking possession immediately (almost 90% of current players actually do this) he tapped it beautifully into space, burnt off his opponent gained a few extra metres to allow him to take clear and clean possesion without being tackled instantly.

KOZZY A DEMON FOR LIFE!!!
Agreed. I think there should be a rule in place. If you elect to go-home to your origin state (outside of free agency of course), you can't nominate a 'club of choice'. It should be up to the club to decide whom you play for based on the best compensation and the highest paid contract. Open market. What club is willing to pay the most and give up the most.

KOZZY A DEMON FOR LIFE!!!
Makes me sick that if Fremantle end up with Kozzie, they would have had Hayden Young Luke Jackson Kozzie Pickett All from the same draft year, in the same team. 2 of which were so influential for us, that it's hard to stomach.

Welcome to Demonland: Pick 9
Take a breather dude, when did I dispute your list and it's realistic approach? All I said was if this eventuated on draft night, I'd be underwhelmed? AKA hoping for some sliders on draft night?

Welcome to Demonland: Pick 9
I'd be so underwhelmed if this actually happened.
