I like it a lot if true!!
-
I wouldn't ......both Toumpas and Tengove far too slow for modern footy plus a few other weaknesses. FWIW I would put HOWE in at Full Forward and leave him there for the season!
-
Not so Sure Dazzle, Were you not happy with the way it panned out for us this year??
-
FMD Riley out????? One of the few who at least goes hard at the ball and gets it! Mc Kenzie is and never will be AFL Standard! M Jones also NUTI! Pedo Yes! and play Watts at FF
-
I have balanced between Yeah and Neigh! I think He is one of the very very few on our list who can... KICK MARK HANDBALL HARDLY WASTE A POSESSION So on that he STAYS! FWIW I think more than a few on this site might be Westgate Bridge bound at midnight if he goes somewhere else and plays the type of footy which I know he can play! I see him eventually as a cross between a better mans Kochitzke , poor mans Riewoldt and a very handy Brendan Goddard type

As an aside I used to love 1 Gomez Blowing up the trains 2 Mr Gazoo always giving it to Fred Flintstone 3 Louie Lebo cranking Sgt Shultz left right and centre 4 Capt Binghampton blowing a head gaskit at Elroy 5 Shintaro the Samurai killing 20 Puppet Ninja but never having any blood on his sword! 6 And Finally wondering what it would be like to get into Lady Penelope's deep and meaningfuls!!?? Some "Enlightenment' re Tarzan Glass Melbourne Forward! ( Gee wouldn't mind him now)! DOB: 22 February 1910 Died: 29 July 1985 Debut: Round 1, 1933 against Richmond at MCG Last Game: Round 13, 1938 against Hawthorn at Glenferrie Oval Games: 78 Goals: 135 Career Statistics Wins Draws Losses Winning % 43 1 34 55.12 Leading Goalkicker - 1936 The man nicknamed "Tarzan" because of his tenacious forward play notched up 55 games for East Fremantle and was recruited to Melbourne in 1933 after kicking 40 goals in the previous season. He had played in two premierships in Perth. Lured to Melbourne with the promise of a job at the MCG, Glass started life at Melbourne as a midfielder before moving back into the forward line in 1936 where he formed a winning combination with Norm Smith. In 1939 he joined Williamstown and the side won a premiership in his first season. He played for them until leaving at the end of 1941 when he enlisted in the Air Force. He was discharged as a corporal and returned to Williamstown for one last season in 1945, where he was named vicee-captain. The side won another premiership that year. In total he played 82 games for 54 goals in the VFA. In 2003 he was named ruck-rover in Williamstown's team of the century.

I hope the answer is NO !! The sooner we start to not rely on handouts is the time this footy club takes responsibility and finds out the way to success is smart coaching, insightful picks when its our turn and a decision, if you are a player to do what others won't do to be successful and to work your ring of to achieve it, whatever it cost!!
-
What about Tarzan Glass?
-
Only if you recruit and develop well!! something er we have er failed to do in the last 10 years!! In fact other clubs have laughed there heads of at our expense. I don't buy the sort of Comments like" Oh yeah "........................" we would have picked him up but he went early to Melbourne yeah [censored] woulda, coulda, shoulda, our recruiting has been in the last 10 years the worst of any footy club EVER! we deserve to be where we are! Under Roos at least this year, there has been some reasonable pickups!
-
Yeeeess I do like the sound of that! Like the bloke who was asked why he kept hitting himself on the head with a Hammer! His answer "Because it feels so good when I stop" Hnmm a bit of thought in that?!
-
I wonder ?? This might sound a bit simplistic but, Would I get more satisfaction out of life if I was poorer but my footy team was successful?? I mean really successful, Premierships ! ?
-
And what you learnt was......?
-
Look, I agree, but can you ever imagine in a Tangerine nightmare Dream or Freddy Kruger dream nightmare, that Collingwood would agree to that swap??
-
Bah, the AFL won't do a single thing!! For years we have held our own destiny in our own hands and we have drafted pathetically!! Nup, we have no one to blame but our previous coaches and shizen recruiting people! Et Tu Bruti?
-
Bah ha ha ha Goldsack for Watts? Please go and see a Doctor Quick, Delusion is setting in! Grimes is a liability in the team not just as Captain!! Skills???? he is the turnover king!
-
WHY IS IT THAT GWS SKILLS UNDER PRESSURE ARE FAR FAR BETTER THAN OURS WHEN WE HAVE NO PRESSURE? They are also down to 1 and a half interchange options and are still killing us, Are we fit ?doesn't look like it? Are we tanking/?Sheez looks very much like it! Too much speed, better ball usage, spread, and GRUNT! Shocking Get RILEY ON!

Footscray v Casey Scorpions (Jesse Hogan returns)
picket fence replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yep Dew of the grass ah the memories..... And Agree with sentiments re Toumpas Not even I would have the glass half full, half empty! Credibility suffers when a complete 360 turn around is not rationalised and explained. This might be what was trying to be said which is my view also You ah know my Views on Toumpas. However, I hope he can turn around my perceptions for his Sake and that of the MFC. -

Clearly Pedo is a required player for next year, no doubt about it! I don't really think he will play after his "Nose job" and so following 'Due Dilligence" Roos is giving others "Under a Cloud' A chance to show they want to be a part of it next year! Now who else is under the microscope for a Gig Next year?? -
Nah back pocket "Old Style" his brief will be if in doubt rush Kick it through the points!

Those four mentioned would not only have got a game with us now AND STARED ! But also with nearly any other team currently going around IMO! -
