Is one week not enough? Pretty good discipline I would have thought?? "He's got this dream about buying some land, he's gonna, give up the booze and the one night stands and then he'll settle down in a quiet little town and forget about everything"

Ah yet another thread mentioning young Jimmy Toumpas? Ah what a breath of fresh air? I hope he is recovering well from his latest setback!

Yep yep and yep!

Players to target at the end of the year

Nutjob Mitch Robertson would be high on my list and I would look at what value might be had with Jarred Waite for a year or two. As you know I put a premium on grunt and a touch of homicidal maniac is just what this club needs right now! -
Paul Roos doing an excellent job with more passengers than on a peak hour Indian train on a never ending Snowpiercer express to nowhere! Agree has turned some average footballers into AFL standard. Dunn Jetta Pederson Tyson Howe to a lesser extent, There will be more successes next year but first.... the axe is looming... discard those who accept mediocrity and who bask in good dollars and content to being AFL Footballers without AFL INTEGRITY!

Not saying that, just sayin that in the maelstrom that is the MFC some come back to bite us! However to follow your point Mc Kenzie would not get a game with a potential premiership team and lets face it not with any other AFL Team. That miss of his is nearly the miss of all time!! 10 m out and kicked like a Tibetan monk getting out of his PJs of a morning who can't kick the habit!

1 Stefan Martin ( Close to BOG) 2 Jordy "Skills" Mc Kenzie ( whoever signed him up for 3 years if he is still in the club, resign!) 3 Watching Shane Woewodin in the opposition coaching box! Please feel free to add your own "Ouch" factor Oh, by the way, my self imposed weekly ban is now duly lifted!
-
Ok, I have decided the best exile Is to ban myself! If It is to be, it is up to me! PF

Frankly, I am not fazed if Frawley wants to go! If he stays well Ok, BUT, he stays on about 450-500 K per year 3 Year deal with incentives, Take it or leave it! If he goes that gives us an end of round 1 draft pick and massive bargaining power. not to mention salary cap room. Ahh Come to think of it, I don't mind in the slightest if he goes!! Not one little bit! Among other things Is his kicking really up to AFL "elite" standard? -
Players to target at the end of the year
picket fence replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
In my view ANY player regardless of contract status is up for grabs if the coin or incentives are high enough. Whether in contract or not it's about time we poach, and develop some rat cunning, stealth and a bit of flair in targeting whoever can help our cause!. GO DEES -
Pfft!

Players to target at the end of the year

Viney very good for all the reasons provided but the stats say and I agree that Wines is a better player! Both with a lot to like and would have complemented each others game but alas it was not to be! -

Sweet Dee have we met?? I am the one and only Picket Fence! Like what you have got to say... BUT be careful... There are many here who will fight you tooth and nail for these utterances! So Beware! PF -
Ah for some Sanity, Brevity and Refreshment in this MAD MAD world Moonshine ah Moonshadow ta!

"Roosy should be our PM" Typically flippant comment from someone who clearly doesn't grasp the difference between the complexities of job demands between an AFL Coach and the job of Prime Minister of Australia! Ah, Tony Abbotts response to escalating world conflict not "Up to Par"?? Dazzle? Poor example, Want to try again Champ?

Clearly MASSIVE head problems not even esteemed Former Melbourne Sports Psyc "Rudi Webster" could help these guys!

Thanks for your "Candour" Biif my age is waay out but thanks for opinion ( Which after all is what this forum is for) I would say one thing. I have always specified that we needed more grunt Mids when Jimmy Toumpas was drafted . Still believe that. But having said that I hope Jimmy Toumpas develops into a very good MFC player. He has to! I don't think I can be any fairer than that?? PF PF

Would be wrapped if Roos took on a third and fourth, fifth etc etc et al! -
Can't recall ever saying that Toumpas "sucks" and for FWIW I hope Toumpas becomes a very good player for the MFC. Anyway back to the tread I think poster abuse should be acted on. Otherwise good football oriented people like myself that have great footy insights will be discouraged from posting here. Now that would be a pity!
-
I started the "On the couch" thread to create some meaningful football related discussion. The thread was locked/? I can only assume it was locked because of poster abuse!? If it was locked as a result of this, Instead of locking the thread, can I suggest a ban for those posters who do not like "Robust" debate and stoop to abuse of posters such as me when they do not agree with a view! That way a thread can continue and debate can continue. Hnmm interesting response! Interesting in that I posted an admiration thread for St. Kilda and Aiden Riley and no one seems to complain and I spose when people below say I am a DH well that probably means this thread will/ should be locked as well?? I dare say if poster abuse continues lets "Ban the poster" I am entitled to an opinion and that is what a forum should be about, but obviously it is not! Pity! PF!

Interesting show last night. Among other things of interest was the comment on Ollie Wines being 4th on the all time highest average possession winners in his second year of football. First was Chris Judd. In very good company if he maintains that type of consistency. The other "Notable"? point rasied was Colin Sylvia's extrememely poor form over the last weeks averaging something like 6 possies a game. Interesting times for Sylvia I think. What I took from these observations was that we dodged the bullet that is the frustrating inconsistency that is Colin Sylvia and that we would have loved to have had Ollie Wines in our line up! Such is Life!
