  1. Yeh true, to be fair once Lynch joined rich he was never getting a game. Handy to have on the list, can play forward and ruck for the right price id like him.
  2. Suns do not have enough points, 3 of their academy players will go in the top 10. GC have 4,191 points Jed Walters will go at pick 2, and then if the other 2 go at 9 and 10(I'm doing the least possible) it's 5,381 points. they simple have to trade pick 4. Even if they keep it and say Walters slips to 4 they will still need 4,898 points with the other two going at 9 and 10. even if one slips out of the top 10 and goes 12 to 13 its less than 100 points difference. We 100% should try get into that pick and hope that Duursma slips, this kid looks like a Petracca 2.0
  3. He is a perfect back up if cheap, but i don't think his contract would be that cheap. And the reason he wants to leave is because he want's to be a B22 player. I'm not sure he would make our Starting 22, there is a forward spot up for grabs. He just screams to me as a player that needs to have an AFL player lifestyle at the club and away from the club, needs to switch on a bit and optimise his potential. Could our program unlock that? Could fill a spot until Jefferson is ready.
  4. The Sub, who does the panel think will be the sub? i think its between Laurie and Smith. Smith for me is the perfect sub, can swing him to either end of the ground when needed and he will do a job. I think he has done enough over the past few weeks to hold his spot though, and especially with Melksham going down. Laurie has a bit of class about him and is growing with each game, i think he is going to be a very valuable player for us when he gets a run at it at the top level. But that might be next year.
  5. What does everyone think will happen on our list? I'm thinking: Grundy - Traded Harmes - Traded if interest there JJ - lose to free agency Tomlinson - Traded Melksham - Retire Hibbard - Retire Dunstan - Not offered a new contract Ben Brown - Retire (may stay on the list and continue his AFLW coaching career with his contract as payment) That is 7-8 List changes which is a lot so I don't think they will all happen. Some may also seam harsh but got to be ruthless. Is a couple of other young guys that haven't shown much in the VFL but i can't see to many more list changes other than these, they will probably keep them and hope they benefit from another year of development. We will more than likely carry a couple of SPP selections into next year.

  7. Would love to get this kid, but not paying a lot for him. Think he would be a great mid/fwd under the correct coaching. I think it could be and after thought after we are done trading for picks, although could be involved in us trying to get pick 4 of GC.
  8. He will still be our best forward in a moon boot. Push him out there 😉
  9. Hi all, unfortunately I cannot make the game Thurs. And have a barcode if someone would like it. Send me a PM. First in best dressed.
  10. Fantastic win. In my opinion our two best wins this year have been against the Swans. What does the panel think about young Turner? I have watched a bit of him in the VFL and think he is going to become a very good player.
  11. we know the umps want a sydney game to ref next week obviously
  12. Would be an issue if there wasn't a Bye. should we have 2 weeks. or 3. when does it stop? And the loser get the longer break for the elimination the following week. I hate the Bye think it should be only before the GF.
  13. Non issue, this is the whole point of the bye.
  14. They have plenty of points, they just need a few more. this trade would get them there maybe the pick from the Grundy trade as well
  15. Dees wont want to pay anything, $650 for Grundy is a bargain. and they will see it that way. If as many clubs that are reported are interested in him there is no need to pay any of his contract. Id say they don't care too much of the pick as they will be looking to move it on anyway.
  16. oh yeh, just saying I am more than happy to give up that capital for pick 4
  17. AFL.com are reporting that we are offering GC our first rounder, 23 and 32 for pick 4 which CG need to trade for points. Id be happy to throw in our first round pick for next year too. Then we go into this draft with pick 4 and 5 in a very strong draft. Next years draft is apparently shallow so later picks won't be as profitable. all be it early days judging next years draft.
  18. I also think T-mac could be important this week in making sure we give Max a bit of an extra rest leading into finals. With T-Mac, JVR, Fritta and Melky in the forward line, i expect T-Mac and JVR will share the ruck load a bit!
  19. I don't see Melb paying a cent. they will keep him if that's the case. The interesting factor that may come up is if the bench goes to 5. Which i believe was the original reason for going after Grundy.
  20. I am going to have to correct you. JR to GL "have the Demons had a chat with Harley, possibly as we speak?" Like i said he was implying that it is happening and was trying to get the info out of Garry who wouldn't budge.
  21. Yeh I don't think we can ask too much for him. a second rounder is what he is worth. Honestly i think we go to the lower levels and sign the best SANFL/WAFL/VFL ruck, even if its an SSP. They are usually very solid ruckmen without being game changers. I'm a mad Norwood fan so a bit bias but I really like Harry Boyd in the SANFL. He is second in the league for Hit Outs, first for clearances, averages about 15 disposals a game and 4 inside 50s a game. He is only 25 and won the BOG in the 2022 SANFL GF and Norwood B&F that year too. He is an undersize ruckman at 198cm but we are seeing more and more these days that if you are athletic that doesn't matter.
  22. Oh i agree with those other players but they aren't on the table. If i Could choose one, Allen!! he is perfect, gun key forward and can to the ruck pinch hitting too. That's the only issue, if we do go for a young key fwd and Jefferson does come on we will lose one. In terms of Petty and Smith, yes! Much better than Smith and Petty had been great hole filler but i do think he will settle in defence, especially once May retires
  23. No, Ralph was hinting that Melbourne FC had a meeting with Reid on Monday, he tried to get it out of Gary but he just let it go through to the keeper.
  24. He has never been the second tall, has always played alongside 2 other talls and they all get in each others way. He would be a great second tall for us with Fritter being that versatile 3rd
  25. John Ralph hinting to Gary On The Couch that the Dees were meeting with Reid. With North getting pick one it seams unlikely now though
