  1. No problem with them coming in, not sure Hows is up the the fitness level. Apparently cramped severely in the VFL this week. basically i think selection integrity is important not. If someone in the VFL that plays your position is in form and you are not then you lose your spot. I do also think our crumbing forwards have it tough with only 1 Key forward, easy to know where the ball is going to drop for the opposition.
  2. Kossie plays deep forward, spargo plays up the ground more. Which is why i think Harmes is the replacement for him. If chandler has a good few weeks in the VFL and Kossie doesn't improve then you do that switch
  3. 4 score involvements, and this has been his trend all year, no score board presence. Desperatly out of form and needs a better run in the reserves to get confidence.
  4. Be a tough hard game, the subs we are playing atm are having no impact. Jordan is the best player for sub but he is in the B22 whilst Clarry is out I think. Maybe we could try Dunstan. But I think it need to be a tough Mid
  5. Out: Smith(Sub), Spargo In: JVR, Harmes Harmes to be Sub
  6. Good to tough out that win. But We have a lot to tidy up, our skills are very average, dropped marks, missed handballs and poor kicking. I don't rate St Kilda at all but they put the pressure on tonight. Brown has to stay in, he just opens up the forward line well, id like to see JVR in there with him. Kossie is an issue atm, and only the fact that Spargo and Chandler are also struggling is the reason he is still in the side. We are really missing Clarry, but Brayshaw back in the middle is his best position and hopefully we see similar to what he did in the back end of last yr. Looking forward to heading to the G on Fri, we will see where we are against a good team this week.
  7. I Like most of the changes, but think JVR had to be in not Melksham. Hopefully this is because they are managing JVR's workload in the VFL and giving him a break whilst still getting footy into him. Now reward Chandler/Spargo if they have form in the VFL and if Kossie/ANB are not performing they get dropped.
  8. This is brilliant for a couple of reasons: 1 - his hard work has been rewarded. 2 - sends a strong message to the others that spots are up for grabs atm so you better perform. Only downfall is, JJ is way behind in the pecking order and I can't see him not seeking opportunities elsewhere, but that's footy. Please don't play Taj as Sub!!
  9. Ins: JVR, Oliver Out: Fritsch, Smith I think Fritch out will show we need two talls up fwd, as well as the resting ruck. Not saying Fritsch isn't in the side, but think he has been asked to play a different role. Oliver into the midfield obviously, and Harmes gets another go as a half fwd/rotation and midfield depth. But needs to perform much better than the weekend.
  10. Totally agree, think they have been managing him. He is most definitely in our best fwd line. And if you look back Grundy and Gawn had the most impact forward of the ball when Brown was playing. I think he unlocks a different dimension up there. All of a sudden teams have to defend BBB, JVR, Gawn/Grundy and Fritch on the lead and in the air.
  11. Not AFL standard, move on unless very cheap
  12. 1 - McVee 2 - Rivers 3 - JVR 4 - Viney 5 - Hunter (based on his last yr at the Dogs)
  13. yeh, not a fan of that. I think we are playing to many small forwards already
  14. and then who you dropping and then seeing ask for a trade, Rivers, Salem, Bowey, McVee?
  15. they are not needed in our line up though. Why not go hard at a player Like Allen and try get him. Sure Yeo and Barras would make our side but in what capacity? especially Yeo
  16. Instead of trading for Harley Reid, is there a chance of prying Oscar Allen out of there? Offer two first rounders for him maybe other later picks involved. if there is a chance to nab someone like that who may not be enjoying his footy atm, he would it our forward line perfectly!
  17. Can only give him a rest if Brown comes in, Smith isn't up to the standard unfortunately. he isn't a forward threat, he is fine for a role but he isn't a marking or goal-kicking threat at AFL Level. Brown had a very good VFL game on the weekend, he can be to far away, and maybe we play Schacke and BBB if we are giving JVR a rest.
  18. yup, needs help in the forward line though
  19. Limited impact isn't correct. there is a lot of contests that he is out of position and makes sure he brings it to ground. Agree he will need a rest at some stage as he is only 19, but he needs help up fwd. he is a 19yo playing on the best defenders in the league, this week he comes up against Sam Taylor, the best full back in the league. He needs a big Key fwd like Ben Brown to take those guys.
  20. lets not forget Max had 15 disposals, 4 tackles and 23 HO, whilst he wasn't taking marks he still had an OK game. not exactly the best weather for a 200+cm player. Were not banged up at all, we are in a good spot i believe. BBB i think they are managing and he will soon return to the side. JVR is 19, might need a break leading into finals but he will benefit from playing next to BBB. Lets just hope we don't have to many games in the wet!! we just cannot play in very slippery conditions.
  21. Yup its unfortunate, just give him another week
  22. IN: Brown, Bowie Out: Smith, Spargo, - JJ to Sub Its time to give JVR some support down fwd and brown had a very good hame in the VFL with 2 goals 18 disposals and 9 marks, think this will also free up our resting ruck. Too many small forwards, Spargo is the unlucky one, but if any of the others drop off much more then he comes straight in! Bowie back in and Brayshaw into the midfield rotation, he plays his best footy in the middle and we have the smaller backs. He can still play a defensive mid role but it looks like we have been trying to play to many in the one position. GWS are no pushovers and our small fwds will need to be on the ball, they have the best full back in the league and some good play makers of the half back line. A very solid midfield, but where we can get on top if their forward line, which is pretty average besides Toby Greene.
  23. Stewart had a day out, not sure if Smith had the role. But if he didn't why not, should have been next to him all game
  24. How many intercept marks did geel take tonight in the wet? Bit hard for Smalls to be effective in that display
